Two teachers arrested for allegedly running drug factory in Rajasthan city
'The accused had rented a flat in Dream Homes Apartments about two months ago and had set up a full-fledged lab for producing Mephedrone. One of them is a government school science teacher, and the other teaches chemistry at a private school,' Ghanshyam Soni, Regional Director of NCB Jodhpur said.
He added that the two had sourced chemicals and equipment from Delhi and were arrested from the flat during a raid conducted in the early hours of Tuesday.

The operation led to the recovery of 780 grams of Mephedrone, along with a large cache of precursor chemicals, including Acetone, Benzene, Methylamine, Bromine, and Isopropyl Alcohol, as well as lab equipment typically used for synthetic drug manufacturing. Mephedrone (4-Methylmethcathinone) is a synthetic stimulant known for inducing short-term euphoria but is highly addictive and can cause serious psychological and physical harm with continued use.
'This seizure highlights our focus on identifying and dismantling clandestine facilities engaged in synthetic drug production,' Soni said, adding that investigations are underway to identify others connected to the network.
'The fact that both accused are schoolteachers makes the case even more shocking', he said.
Soni further said that the NCB had recently shared 'red flag indicators' with directors general of state police to help spot such illegal units.

'The drugs were tied to the internal steel rods of the umbrella—something only a trained eye could spot,' said PSI Rahul Fad, who led the operation. 'It's a new low in concealment tactics and shows the increasing desperation and ingenuity of traffickers.' Mephedrone, also known as 'meow meow' or 'white magic', is often abused at parties and clubs, it is banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigators believe Chukwu Emeka is a small but crucial link in a larger international drug syndicate operating in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. 'This arrest has opened a can of worms,' said senior police inspector Vijay Jadhav. 'We suspect he was working on instructions from handlers based outside India. The pattern and quantity of drugs recovered hint at cross-border supply chains.' The accused has been remanded to police custody till Monday. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized 5 lakh tablets of Tramadol and Alprazolam, valued at Rs 20 crore, and arrested five people. These actions were taken during investigations into a group that was illegally moving pharmaceutical drugs across parts of Uttar Pradesh and to a statement released on Sunday, the seizures and arrests were made during three operations carried out since May. The operations took place in Dehradun and Jaspur in Uttarakhand, and in Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly and Saharanpur in western Uttar NCB found that a milk seller from Uttar Pradesh had rented out his wholesale drug license to the group for Rs 5,000 per month. The agency said the group used fake wholesalers and misused drug sale licenses. The investigation began on May 12, when NCB conducted a raid at a medical store in Vikasnagar in Dehradun, where officials recovered 594 Tramadol tablets and arrested one individual. During interrogation, the arrested person revealed further details about the network, leading the NCB to identify additional individuals involved in the operation. As the investigation progressed, both a supplier and a peddler were subsequently traced and taken into NCB found that two medical firms, M/s S.M. NDPS case: Panchkula court junks anticipatory bail plea of 3 pharmacists
A local court has dismissed the anticipatory bail pleas of three Panchkula pharmacists who were caught selling psychotropic tablets to an unauthorised purchaser in February this year. The matter was handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh, which seized 948 tablets/capsules and registered a case against proprietor Randeep Singh based on his voluntary, self-incriminatory statement. In his statement, Randeep named wholesale dealers Ashish Gupta, Jatinder Verma and Amit Chopra. Based on this, the NCB registered a case against them for violating their licence conditions by selling psychotropic substances to an unauthorised purchaser, M/s Deep Medicos. The court of additional sessions judge Himanshu Singh junked the plea after the NCB stated that their custodial interrogation was required. Last week, the court had dismissed the bail plea of other pharmacists involved in the case: Sanjay Kumar, 61, of M/s SS Bharti, Naresh Kumar Sardana, 54, of M/s Mediking, and Deepak Sharma, 55, of Sharma Enterprises.
