MANCHESTER United's hunt for a bargain striker has hit a significant setback with Dusan Vlahovic set to snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of joining AC Milan.
The Serbian forward has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, who have been desperately searching for an affordable option to bolster their front line.

United have already strengthened their squad with the announcement of Matheus Cunha's £62.5 million move.
Now, they are looking for an established name who could come in and add both experience and hunger without breaking the bank.
Vlahovic scored ten goals for Juventus last season and has once again been linked to United in recent times as Ruben Amorim looks to rebuild the once-great club.
But Sunsport understands that the Serbian forward favours a move to AC Milan, if he agrees a deal with Juventus to go their separate ways this summer.
The 25-year-old has been in the headlines for months, with United among a host of clubs reportedly monitoring his situation at Juventus.
However, while United were thought to be favourites for his signature, Vlahovic is now set to stay in Italy.
Milan are desperate to strengthen their attacking options, and Vlahovic's potential arrival would be a huge coup for the Italian giants.
Reports from Italy suggest that the deal is already close to completion.

Jannik Sinner puts memories of Paris to bed with scintillating Wimbledon win
Only five weeks have passed since Alcaraz stunningly saved three match points in a French Open final fightback for the ages but his hopes of a third straight victory in SW19 were dashed by his great rival. But most of the champagne moments came from Sinner, who at one point was nearly struck by an errant cork. After breaking in the opening game, Sinner finished the second set with three outstanding winners, while in the third he played a tweener drop volley. Alcaraz was left on the floor as Sinner broke through in the third to lead 5-4, and he had one hand on the trophy when he moved further ahead early in the fourth. The crowd willed Alcaraz to conjure a Paris-style recovery, and the 22-year-old had two chances at 4-3, but this time it was Sinner's day. 'Today was important not just because it was a grand slam final, not just because it was Wimbledon, and not just because Carlos had won the last five matches against him,' said Cahill. 'He needed that win today. Today's match I think was a match of moments, of just who was going to step up in the big moment and make something happen. At Roland Garros it was Carlos, and today it was Jannik. So we could not be more proud of him.'
