Therefore, it advised highway users to plan their journeys using the PLUS App to obtain the latest traffic information.
They are also advised to adhere to all traffic signs and instructions issued by PLUS personnel when passing through the affected area
Highway users can also obtain the latest traffic information through the PUTRI Virtual Assistant, X@plustrafik App, and Electronic Signboards (VMS) at selected locations as well as contact PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 in the event of any emergencies. — Bernama

(inDrive pic) PETALING JAYA : Russian-founded e-hailing firms inDrive and Maxim have been placed under a three-month probation period after successfully appealing the revocation of their operating licences. The Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) said the two companies were ordered to take corrective measures to continue operating, particularly regarding e-hailing vehicle permits (EVPs). 'To meet this condition, Maxim and inDrive have improved their registration system to ensure all of their drivers have valid EVPs before they can start operating. 'Both companies have also given Apad 'view only' access to their data to make it easier to cross-check their data on EVPs,' it said in a statement. Apad said it conducted a random check on their drivers on July 11 and found that everything was in compliance. The agency and the road transport department had found the improvements made by the companies satisfactory, and agreed to place Maxim and inDrive under a three-month monitoring period, effective tomorrow. 'To ensure the continuous commitment of both operators, their representatives are required to turn up at the Apad headquarters every month throughout the monitoring period. 'These sessions are aimed at allowing Apad to conduct real-time monitoring, with random checks conducted on drivers via the inDrive and Maxim applications,' it said. In May, both firms were ordered to halt operations from July 24 after failing to comply with Apad's regulations introduced in 2019. In September 2022, the road transport department raided inDrive's Malaysian office and discovered that the firm was operating with an expired licence. In 2023, Maxim was also raided by Apad officers for allowing vehicles to operate without a valid permit.

Fire Dept Puts Out 80 Pct Of Secondary Forest Blaze In Kuala Kubu Baharu
KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has put out about 80 per cent of the fire at a secondary forest in Jalan Genting, Kuala Kubu Baharu today. Selangor Zone 6 chief senior fire superintendent II Mustakim Rimon said they received an emergency call from the landowner about the blaze at 6.26 pm yesterday and have been fighting the fire non-stop since. "Upon reaching the location some 30 minutes later, we found that the fire involved a 60-acre secondary forest, and not a forest reserve,' he said when contacted by Bernama today. Thirty-seven personnel from the Kuala Kubu Baharu and Rawang fire stations were mobilised to control the blaze from spreading. However, he said the fire engine could not reach the site due to the lack of access roads, resulting in the personnel having to carry the equipment manually for about two kilometres. "The JBPM Air Unit was also mobilised using the AW189 helicopter due to the lack of water resources in the area, which is quite remote. A total of 6,000 litres of water was used for aerial firefighting,' he said. The JBPM also used drones equipped with heat-sensing cameras to identify hotspots for more focused firefighting. "Our main challenge included the hilly terrain and hot, windy weather that speeds up the spread of the fire,' he said as he advised the public not to carry out open burning, especially in high-risk areas. A secondary forest refers to a forest area that has regrown after a significant disturbance, such as logging, fire or human activities, and is generally more prone to burning compared to primary forest.
