Over the years, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has become a rare off-course stage for golf's elites to entertain their fans beyond the greens.
The last time a golfer lit up Fallon's set, it was Rory McIlroy, still glowing from his emotional Masters win at Augusta National.
And on Monday night, it happened again.

Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his dominant Open Championship victory at Royal Portrush, made an unannounced and effortlessly cool appearance at Studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. His appearance was an iconic walk from the backstage to the set, but of course with the Claret Jug in hand.
Earlier that evening, Scheffler had turned heads at the "Happy Gilmore 2" premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where he posed with the Claret Jug alongside Adam Sandler and fellow PGA Tour pros.
But it was his cameo on "The Tonight Show" that stole the spotlight.
The segment aired Monday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Fallon, mid-monologue, asked for a photo of Scheffler. When an image of him swinging a club appeared onscreen, Fallon stated, "I really want to see Scottie and the trophy," as shown in the video posted on YouTube.
Seconds later, the classic blue curtain split, and out walked Scheffler in a white button-down short-sleeve shirt, gray jeans, and white sneakers, holding the Claret Jug. The studio audience went crazy with screams of excitement and a standing ovation.
What followed next was Fallon posing for a selfie with Scheffler and the trophy after getting utterly shocked and happy at the same time.
This week marked Scheffler's fourth major title and his third leg of the career Grand Slam. Yet, for all the historical weight, Scheffler's approach remains unchanged.
"I do my best by living in the present. Right now, what that looks like is we're heading back to the States hopefully (Sunday) and get back home as quick as we can and celebrate this win with the boys at home," he told reporters after his Sunday win.
That mentality makes Scheffler magnetic beyond his golf. Even on Fallon's set, with a room full of flashing lights and cameras, Scheffler didn't try to be bigger than the game. He just smiled, lifted the Jug, and disappeared backstage as quietly as he'd arrived.
In simple words, that's the way he is; the biggest name in golf, and the last person trying to act like it.

Man Tries To Relax on Lake Float—but He Has Two Golden Retrievers

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. With golden retrievers, relaxation can be an elusive thing. That didn't stop one man online from trying, though. His afternoon enjoying a peaceful float on a lake was hilariously interrupted by his two devoted goldens, whose unwavering loyalty—and perhaps a touch of "fear of missing out"—prompted an impromptu "rescue" mission. The adorable scene, captured in a viral TikTok video, has gone viral with over 2.7 million views. "'Spotted: Dad alone. On float. Without us. He looks like he needs us. Does he even have snacks? We must go rescue,'" the creator captioned the video, imagining the dogs' inner dialogue. "'Emotional support en route. Target acquired … Backup has arrived … no man left behind. No raft left afloat.'" One by one, the dogs plunged into the water, swimming toward their owner. The first golden retriever reached the inflatable and clambered aboard with a splash, followed shortly by its equally determined sibling. The result? A deflating inflatable and a man now submerged under the weight of two very loving, but heavy, golden retrievers. The creator's page says the goldens, named Whaler and Flapjack, adore swimming. "If there's water, we're in it," the profile reads. Internet viewers quickly fell in love with the dogs' earnest, if misguided, heroism in the video. TikTok users flooded the comments with laughter and relatable stories. "'Dad looks like he's resting peacefully! Must change that!'" one commenter added. "Lovely," another wrote. "How could anyone beat the love these guys have for their human?" Stock image: A tan-colored dog swims in a lake. Stock image: A tan-colored dog swims in a lake. Nataba/Getty Images Many viewers found humor in the dogs' single-minded focus on their owner—even at the expense of his relaxation: "Dad probably been out there since morning coffee trying to get some … peaceful sunlight," one person posted. The canines' approach to the "rescue" was also a source of amusement. "The funniest part was the first mud trail. Golden one has a visual on the target and has engaged. Golden two sweeping in for clean-up," a commenter said. Some viewers offered practical advice, suggesting ways to ensure the dogs' safety during their water adventures. "You should get them life jackets," one wrote. "I had one and it made my parents feel so much better and I got to swim for longer!" These golden retrievers, known for their friendly and loyal nature, seem to fully embody the spirit of "no man left behind"—even if it means sacrificing their human's peaceful float. Owner Gets 'Cute Fluffy Puppy'—Not Prepared for What He Turns Into

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman has shared how her tiny, incredibly fluffy puppy used to look—and how he's transformed as an adult dog. Jasmine Hill, from Melbourne in Australia, is the proud owner of German shepherd dog Kaiser, who she described to Newsweek as a "big gentle giant with a heart of gold." He weighs a whopping 83 pounds or 38 kilos, which she joked likely included two kilos in his long hair alone. Her TikTok account, @jasminehilll, is filled with videos of Kaiser, from when she got him as an eight-week-old puppy, to now, as a very large, but equally adorable 3-year-old dog. "German shepherds get a bad reputation but I'd like to show people the amazing breed they are," she said. "He's been around other dogs and children and is super gentle. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body—he's all bark when a stranger comes near our house but he wouldn't hurt a fly." Now a video showing how Kaiser has changed since she brought him home in 2022 has proved hugely popular, racking up more than 130,000 likes since being posted on July 15. The clip, set to Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," begins with baby Kaiser sitting on an outdoor deck. He is extremely fluffy, and has large, floppy ears that have somehow become tangled up on his head. And while he's tiny, he already has big paws, hinting at the size he will eventually grow to. Kaiser as a puppy. Kaiser as a puppy. TikTok @jasminehill And that's exactly what happens, as when the video switches, it shows Kaiser now: a majestic young shepherd almost lion-like in his appearance, with a mane and long fur, looking enormous in the backyard he's sitting in. Hill wrote in the caption: "Cute fluffy puppy into a protective handsome man." She added: "It's the crossed-over ears for me." Many others also commented on puppy Kaiser's ears, one commenter writing: "I loved the crossed-over ears phase," another agreeing: " puppy ears!" Others were in awe to see what he had grown into, one describing him as a "regal beautiful lion," and another calling him the "most handsome boy in the world." "Why do dogs grow up so fast," one lamented, as one called him "absolutely beautiful big and little," and another declared Kaiser "grew up into a lion." And several commenters used the word "majestic" to describe him. Kaiser now, fully grown. Kaiser now, fully grown. TikTok @jasminehill Hill told Newsweek she "was, and still am, shocked to see how many people have enjoyed the transformation video of him from a puppy to an adult! But it makes me so happy people can see and appreciate his beauty. "He loves cuddles on the couch, soft squeaky toys and walks to the park. He's super protective of our home and lets us know when strangers are near!" German shepherds are known for their confidence and smarts, and make good family pets thanks to their affection towards their owners and young children, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). GSDs can grow up to 26 inches at the shoulder and weigh up to 90 pounds, making them a handful to raise, but they reward owners with loyalty and courage, willing to put their life on the line to defend family. Justin Thomas Drops 'Bad News' About Scottie Scheffler's 'Happy Gilmore 2' Performance

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. After nearly three decades, Happy Gilmore is back on screens. The new sequel, "Happy Gilmore 2," premiered globally last week on Netflix and reunites Adam Sandler with his cult-favorite golf character and features a star-studded cast of athletes and celebrities. From PGA Tour legends to LPGA, NFL and LIV Golf pros, the film has quickly become the most talked-about sports comedy of the year. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JULY 21: (L-R) Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Conor Sherry, Phillip Schneider, Bad Bunny, Ethan Cutkosky, Adam Sandler, Kyle Newacheck, Jackie Sandler, John Daly, Sunny Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Sadie Sandler, Fernando Marrero,... (Photo by Kevin Mazur/for Netflix) More Getty Images But while fans are still laughing at the slapstick chaos and nostalgic callbacks, Justin Thomas had a different kind of reaction -- one that came with a wink and a warning. "I've got some good news and bad news," Thomas typed on Instagram on Sunday. "The good news is I actually think the golfers did pretty well in HG2! Bad news... it appears @ won again. The guy can't miss right now 😂 @netflix" The PGA Tour pro posted the caption alongside a behind-the-scenes clip from the film's shoot. The video featured cameos from Rory McIlroy, Nelly Korda, Bryson DeChambeau and Paige Spiranac, among others. But the spotlight, once again, fell on Scheffler, who, true to form, stole the show. What's Scottie Scheffler's role in Happy Gilmore 2? Scheffler plays a fictionalized version of himself. The two-time Masters winner plays a recurring role in the second half of the film than in the first half. In a comedic exchange, Scheffler asks Sandler's character how to handle physical confrontations on the golf course, poking fun at his own calm reputation in contrast to Happy's notorious hot-headedness. After getting provoked by rival golfer Harley (played by Oliver Hudson), Scheffler throws a textbook hockey-style punch, gets disqualified, and is promptly arrested. "Not again," he quips, referencing his real-life arrest last year amid the PGA Championship in Louisville. And yes, the film goes there. In one of the movie's biggest twists, Scheffler's character ends up getting arrested mid-tournament and tossed into jail. His final scene has him slumped in a jail cell, watching Happy win on a tiny TV screen while fellow inmates cheer. The timing of Scheffler's comedic moment couldn't be more thrilling. Just last week, the World No. 1 clinched his third leg of the career Grand Slam at the 153rd Open Championship, Royal Portrush, finishing 17-under-par with a four-shot victory. Image Collage of Tiger Woods and his former coach Butch Harmon during the 1999 British Open and Scottie Scheffler with the Claret Jug at the 2025 Open Championship. (Image Credits: Getty Images) Getty Images It was his fourth major title, placing him alongside legends like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player as players who won the Masters, PGA Championship and Open Championship before turning 30. Thomas's "bad news" jab was clearly tongue-in-cheek, but it echoed a growing sentiment on Tour that Scheffler is in a league of his own. And who knows, as the wind around the golf world says, he is the next Woods. The cast of "Happy Gilmore 2" is a blend of old favorites and new faces. Returning stars included Sandler as Happy Gilmore, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Ben Stiller as Hal L. While the new additions has Bad Bunny as Oscar Mejías (Happy's caddie), Travis Kelce, Eminem, Post Malone and Spiranac. Additionally, golfers like McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, DeChambeau, Will Zalatoris and Thomas himself. More Golf: Min Woo Lee Cooking With Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner During Tour Break
