Al-Ahly Enlists Prominent Portuguese Star to Select New Coach
Al-Ahly club officials have enlisted the help of renowned Portuguese star Nuno Gomes to select the team's new coach, after thanking Swiss coach Marcel Koller following the team's exit from the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
Al-Ahly officials have a strong relationship with Nuno Gomes, a former Portugal national team star, who has previously contributed to the selection of several foreign coaches for Al-Ahly, most notably René Weiler.
Nuno Gomes has been working in the field of player and coach marketing for some time, and Al-Ahly frequently collaborates with him on foreign deals for coaches and players. Therefore, he was enlisted in the past few hours to help select the new coach.
Nuno Gomes has a strong relationship with his compatriot Jose Gomes, the former coach of Zamalek and current coach of Al-Fateh Saudi Club. This relationship is one of the key factors Al-Ahly is leveraging in its negotiations with the former Zamalek coach.

UNRWA Chief Criticizes Airdrops Over Gaza as Inadequate & Dangerous
By Ahmad El-Assasy The Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, has sharply criticized the airdropping of humanitarian aid into Gaza, warning that such efforts are costly, ineffective, and potentially deadly. In remarks carried by the BBC on Saturday, Lazzarini stated that airdrop operations will not prevent the worsening famine in the besieged enclave. 'Airdrops are expensive and inefficient. Worse, they can kill starving civilians on the ground,' he warned. The UN official urged the international community to show genuine political will to lift the blockade, open border crossings, and ensure safe, unhindered access to people in need. Lazzarini revealed that UNRWA has approximately 6,000 aid trucks waiting for clearance to enter Gaza from Jordan and Egypt. Delivering aid through land crossings, he said, would be significantly more effective, safer, faster, and cheaper than air operations. The remarks come amid a deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, where over 2 million Palestinians face food insecurity, widespread displacement, and collapsing medical services due to the ongoing conflict and siege. International humanitarian agencies continue to appeal for coordinated land access to ensure sustained and large-scale delivery of life-saving supplies. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language

10 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Fire in Northern Gaza
By Ahmad El-Assasy At least 10 Palestinians were killed on Saturday after Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in the northwestern area of the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. Witnesses said the victims were among a group of residents gathered in hopes of receiving food and supplies in a region devastated by months of continuous Israeli military operations. This latest incident comes amid one of the deadliest and most prolonged conflicts in Gaza's history. Since the start of the Israeli military campaign on October 7, 2023, a total of 59,733 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women and children, with 144,477 others injured, according to local health authorities. Emergency teams continue to report difficulties accessing areas with victims trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, as ongoing hostilities and restricted access severely hinder rescue and relief operations. The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains catastrophic, with critical shortages of medical supplies, food, water, and fuel. International aid organizations have repeatedly warned that the targeting of aid seekers and blockades on relief convoys are worsening the crisis and violating international humanitarian law. Calls are growing globally for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access to civilians across the Gaza Strip. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language

Turkish Amb. Praises Egyptian Olive Oil, Highlights Sinai's Unique Quality
By Ahmad El-Assasy Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, has praised the quality and healing properties of Egyptian olive oil, particularly that produced in the North Sinai city of Arish, calling it 'authentic' and 'a source of healing.' In remarks delivered at a recent ceremony organized by the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Industry, Ambassador Şen underscored the cultural and religious symbolism of olives in both the Qur'an and Mediterranean diets. 'Surah At-Tin mentions the olive and Mount Sinai together,' he noted, adding that olives, olive oil, and cheese form the core of a traditional Turkish breakfast. Şen shared that during his visits to Arish, he personally purchases dozens of bottles of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, describing it as a high-quality product deserving international recognition. The ambassador joined Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber in honoring Egyptian olive oil producers with medals and certificates in a ceremony celebrating their contributions. He expressed strong confidence in Egypt's potential to become a major player in the global olive oil market, citing the country's award-winning farmers and increasing global demand. Şen also highlighted his past involvement with the International Olive Oil Council (IOOC), a body of particular significance to Turkey—currently the world's fourth-largest olive oil producer. Drawing from that experience, he stated that Egypt is well-positioned to expand its footprint in this growing industry. The remarks underscore Turkey's support for Egyptian agricultural excellence and open a new chapter in bilateral cooperation around sustainable farming and food exports. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
