WWE NXT Battleground 2025 just pulled off the most shocking title change in years
A history-making title change took place at
WWE
NXT's Premium Live Event, Battleground this year.
WWE NXT Battleground 2025 shaped up to be a highly intriguing Premium Live Event with some top matches and moments.
One match that had everybody talking was TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry defending his title against NXT top star Trick Williams.
This was the first time a TNA title was being contested at a WWE event. Not only that, it became even more iconic as the dust settled on this spectacular showdown.
WWE NXT Battleground saw a history-making moment
The tensions between Joe Hendry and Trick Williams had been brewing for weeks. The man who appears when you say his name has been garnering major attention across the entire wrestling landscape since last year.
Moreover, he even got his WrestleMania moment this year against a veteran like Randy Orton. All this possibly did not sit well with NXT's rising talent Trick Williams.
He has been striving hard on his own end, which has led to him to becoming a two-time NXT Champion. With a opportunity to change history, Williams went into the match with his entire aggression, while Hendry was the clear fan favorite despite not being an official WWE superstar from their roster.

The match was a highly captivating showdown as both Hendry and Williams fought tooth-and-nail against each other. The match was, in every sense, worthy of a main event of a WWE Premium Live Event, despite the TNA World Heavyweight Championship being on the line. However, it saw a somewhat controversial ending that created a memorable moment.
As the referee was not looking, Trick Williams raked Joe Hendry's eyes. He then delivered a slam to him, and Hendry's face landed straight on the TNA title belt that was present in the ring.
With the Scottish star's lights out, Williams pulled the final move by connecting with a Trick Shot to win the match.
This meant that, for the first time in WWE history, a non-WWE title changed hands. Trick Williams became the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion, which was game-changing in its own right and left a mark in the world of professional wrestling.

Melania copies Trump's signature dance as first couple marks Fourth of July at White House
First Lady Melania Trump marked the Fourth of July celebrations by joining President Donald Trump in his signature dance on the White House balcony, a moment that quickly gained traction on social media. The 'Trump Dance,' often performed by the former president at his campaign rallies to hits like the 'YMCA,' involves rhythmically punching the air and swaying his hips. On Friday night, Trump showed his familiar moves when Melania joined in, waving her open palms and bouncing on her feet, while Trump watched on affectionately. The celebration coincided with Trump signing the sweeping 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' into law, as America marked its 249th Independence Day. The First Couple's lively moment captured the attention of netizens, who flooded social media with praise. 'SO deserve this moment,' one supporter wrote. Another added, 'A true leader and definitely for the American people! America First!' A third person commented, 'Absolutely love how he pulls her in close and kisses her. ❤️' 'Our First Lady is absolutely radiant! She's glowing. She never glowed like that in the first term,' another user remarked. The dance has also gained popularity beyond political rallies. Supporters have used it to celebrate key moments, such as a flash mob in Staten Island following Trump's re-election in November. The energetic moves have even been adopted as a victory dance by athletes in the UFC and WWE.
