
Extensive enquiries ongoing after two housebreakings in West Lothian
The first took place between 2am and 3am on Monday, 23 June, 2025, in the Fitzallan Place area of Bathgate. Entry was gained at a property and a red Volkswagen Golf was stolen.
The second incident happened around 3.05am on Tuesday, 24 June, 2025, in the Lady Place area of Livingston. Entry was gained at a property and a grey BMW M Sport 5 and a grey Vauxhall Astra were stolen.
Detective Sergeant John Irvine said: 'We are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to these housebreakings and thefts and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area and noticed anything suspicious to please contact us.
'In addition, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage is urged to contact officers as this may be able to assist our investigation.'

Cops attacked eight times during TRNSMT and police responded to 43 drug incidents
Police Scotland has now disclosed a breakdown of the 124 incidents which occurred. Police officers were attacked a total of eight times and attended 43 drug-related incidents during TRNSMT last month. A Freedom of Information request has revealed that a total of 19 people were charged during the Glasgow Green event, which was headlined by 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol. These were relating to a number of offences including police assault, assault, sexual assault, culpable and reckless behaviour, hate crime and possession of weapons. The festival took place during the weekend of July 11 to 13 and an FOI released by Police Scotland has now disclosed a breakdown of the 124 incidents which occurred. Officers were assaulted eight times, with five of the attacks occurring on the opening day of the music festival. Police also responded to 12 attacks on members of the public. Over the weekend, 43 drug-related incidents, including misuse of Class A, B and C substances, took place. Two sexual assaults were also reported to authorities during the event. On Friday, July 11, one incident involved an individual wearing an item linked to a proscribed terrorist organisation. Police were called to two incidents of people with weapons, including someone with a bladed article. Pensioner on mobility scooter critically injured in crash
The crash happened at around 4.50pm on Friday on Gartlea Road in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, when the mobility scooter was struck by a Vauxhall Mokka driven by a 43-year-old man. Emergency services attended and the pensioner was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where staff described his condition as critical. Sergeant Ross Allison, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: 'Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this crash and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist to contact us. 'I would also ask any drivers with dashcam who were in the Gartlea Road area at the time to review their footage and please contact us if it holds anything which may be relevant.'
