Kia Carens Clavis EV launch on 15th July.
After launching the
Kia
Carens Clavis in India, the company is now getting ready to enter the electric vehicle market with its first mass-market EV. The electric version of the Carens Clavis is set to be unveiled on July 15. Here is a quick look at what to expect from the upcoming Carens Clavis EV.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: What to expect
First things first, the design. While the electric version shares appearance with the ICE-powered Carens Clavis, subtle styling tweaks give it its own identity. As seen in the teaser, the model will get a sealed-off grille, revised front and rear bumpers, a sleeker front fascia, and new aero-optimised alloy wheels. Besides that, there's also a charging port integrated into the nose of the car.
As for the powertrain, the Clavis EV will pack the same electric powertrain as the
Hyundai Creta EV
. It's likely to be offered in two battery configurations: a 42 kWh and a larger 51.4 kWh pack. The latter is claimed to deliver a certified range of up to 490 km on a single charge, which, notably, is more than that of Creta Electric's claimed 373 km on a full charge.

Shahibaug businessman duped of Rs 66.66L in online trading scam

Ahmedabad: A 50-year-old businessman from Shahibaug area of the city fell prey to a cyberfraud involving a fake online trading platform and lost Rs 66.66 lakh between Jan and March this year. The city's Cybercrime police station has registered an FIR and launched a detailed investigation into the scam. The victim, a manufacturer of plastic liners, alleged that he was first contacted on Facebook on Jan 14 by a woman identifying herself as Vishika Agarwal. Their interaction soon shifted to WhatsApp, where she introduced him to an online trading platform called 'BITOP INDIA,' claiming it was a legitimate US-based investment portal offering high returns. Cape Town cashier alleges her Indian-origin boss fired her for buying a car, accused her of theft

A 28-year-old cashier in Cape Town has alleged that she was unfairly dismissed from her job at a Shell Garage in Maitland after arriving at work in a newly purchased second-hand Honda. Aseza Limelintaka claims her Indian-origin boss became suspicious of how she could afford a car on her salary, eventually accusing her of theft and forcing her to either accept a demotion or quit. Limelintaka took to Facebook to share her ordeal, saying she had saved for months and taken out a loan to buy the vehicle. In her viral post, which has now garnered over 14 thousand likes and a flood of supportive comments, she wrote, 'I went through my bank app and showed him. He said I started buying new furniture, now I'm buying a car. He's not comfortable with me being a cashier again.' She further alleged that her employer accused her of stealing and said he was investigating whether any money was missing from his business. He then allegedly gave her an ultimatum to take a job as a petrol pump attendant or resign. 'I refused. I was hired as a cashier and have done nothing wrong,' she wrote. 'I had hoped the car would help me run a side hustle and keep working. Now it feels like I'm being punished for trying to improve my life.' The story has resonated deeply with social media users, many of whom expressed outrage and offered words of encouragement. One user commented, 'You lost your job because God wants you to focus on your business, God saw you deserve more. You were not born to limit yourself hence you were capable to buy yourself that car. God allowed your boss to fire you so that nothing stands in your way — he's protecting you. God loves you.' Another wrote, 'Sue them my sister. You are used to people who work for their mouths, they are disrespecting you and they don't have the right to go through your finances. Arrest them.' A third commenter questioned the legality of the alleged dismissal, 'Did you consider consulting your HR or relevant authorities about the issue? As much as you complied in his investigation there's no way he can fire you without proof of what he's accusing you of.' However, the management of Berkley Motor, the company that runs the Shell Garage in Maitland where Limelintaka worked, denied the allegations in a statement to News24 in South Africa. The owner claimed that the situation had been misrepresented and that Limelintaka had not been dismissed. 'Nothing was done without consent, and discussions are ongoing. She has left out many facts that were stated. Nobody was accused of anything, and she has not been fired. Now that she has falsely accused the company of improper procedures, due diligence can be followed accordingly,' the company said.

WhatsApp adds AI voice calls and smart shopping recommendations for businesses

At its global Conversations 2025 event in Miami, Meta announced a series of new features that could significantly change how businesses use WhatsApp to interact with customers. The company is now bringing voice calls, smarter AI shopping tools, and a more streamlined marketing system to the WhatsApp Business platform. The updates aim to help businesses go beyond just sending messages. Now, they'll be able to offer personalised shopping experiences, support through voice and video, and run marketing campaigns across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram — all from one of the key announcements is the ability for businesses to make and receive voice and video calls directly on WhatsApp. Until now, customer service through WhatsApp has mostly been limited to chats, which, while convenient, aren't always the fastest way to solve queries. With this update, businesses using the WhatsApp Business Platform can now speak to customers directly, once the customer agrees to a call. Whether it's answering complex questions or offering guidance that's hard to type out — this new calling feature could make the overall support experience faster and more messaging is also being added, which brings more flexibility for both customers and businesses. In some cases, sending a quick voice note may be easier than typing a long message — especially for industries like healthcare, education, or financial services. Meta also hinted that voice-based AI assistance could be coming in the future, meaning customers might soon be able to talk to an AI to solve their issues in Another major upgrade is focused on marketing. Meta is now allowing businesses to manage their campaigns across WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram through the familiar Ads Manager interface. This makes it easier to create and manage ads, track budgets, and run promotions — all in one place. Businesses can upload customer lists and send messages manually, or let Meta's Advantage+ AI take over, which automatically optimises campaigns and spending across platforms, including ad placements like WhatsApp Status. For businesses with repeat customers or time-sensitive offers, this could be a big the shopping front, Meta is introducing a new Business AI feature. It's designed to help customers discover and buy products directly through WhatsApp. From personalised product recommendations to follow-up support after purchase — the whole shopping experience can now happen inside a chat. While this tool is currently being tested in Mexico, Meta plans to roll it out to other countries businesses, especially smaller ones, the new updates could be a cost-effective way to reach more people and offer better service with fewer resources. For customers, it means less jumping between apps and more convenient service in one place.- Ends
