Pamela Ling's husband among individuals under investigation

KUALA LUMPUR - The husband of Pamela Ling Yueh is among individuals being probed by police regarding her disappearance on April 9, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
He said that authorities have also identified several other individuals apart from the woman's husband and that investigations are ongoing.
"For now, there is a possibility that it being in that direction (that the husband is on the suspect list), and there may be others as well. The investigation (is not yet complete), and we believe there are others whom we also consider as suspects," he told reporters after the 2024 Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Excellent Service Award (APC) ceremony at the Bukit Aman Senior Officers' Mess here today.
Razarudin said that so far, statements have been taken from 16 individuals, including the victim's husband, and checks confirmed that he is still in the country.
"A statement from the victim's children, who are in Singapore, will also be taken soon," he added.
Razarudin said that the CCTV footage from the scene was also reviewed, and a statement was taken from an e-hailing driver who claimed that individuals impersonating police officers abducted the victim.
"Investigations are ongoing to determine whether it was someone impersonating or an actual police officer who committed the wrongdoing. We will not compromise on such matters.
"In past cases involving robbery or abduction by police personnel, we have charged them in court. This is documented in police history," he said.
Razarudin added that a special task force has been established by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the case, with the first meeting chaired by him tonight.
He said the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters is handling the case under Section 363 of the Penal Code for abduction.
Ling, 42, was reported missing en route to the Putrajaya Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office in an e-hailing vehicle on April 9.
Earlier, 66 PDRM personnel were among the 10,534 recipients of the 2024 APC, receiving certificates in recognition of their outstanding commitment and service performance.
Of the total, 1,086 were senior police officers, 8,486 were lower-ranking police officers, and 962 were civil servants serving at Bukit Aman, state contingents, brigades, and training institutions nationwide. Bukit Aman's Department of Crime Prevention and Community Safety director Datuk Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad led the list of award recipients.
Razarudin said that in addition to the APC certificate, each recipient also received a National Education Savings Scheme certificate from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation worth RM1,000 as an additional incentive. - BERNAMA

Penang social development and welfare committee chairman Lim Siew Khim said the rescue operation was carried out by the social welfare department (JKM) with the cooperation of the police, following public complaints. 'Those rescued were aged between 15 days and 16 years, comprising 10 boys and 10 girls. 'Initial investigations revealed that 12 children, including the baby, did not have birth certificates. 'Six had valid documents but no parents or guardians, while two have since been placed in the care of close family members,' Lim told a press conference in George Town today. She was quoted by Kosmo as saying a 20-year-old woman, believed to be the biological mother of the baby, was also 'rescued' during the operation. All those rescued are believed to be of various nationalities and primarily spoke Mandarin, with limited proficiency in Malay. Lim said the children are believed to have been deprived of basic necessities, including adequate food, clothing and safe shelter. 'The warehouse was in a filthy condition and completely unsuitable for habitation, especially by children. 'It was neither a care home nor a registered learning centre. Children should not have been there,' she said. During the raid, five adults believed to be acting as caretakers were also found on the premises. They were local individuals, aged over 18, and are currently being investigated by the police. Body of missing six-year-old boy from Johor found in Rompin, suspect arrested
SEREMBAN: Police have discovered remains believed to be those of a six-year-old boy reported missing in Johor Baru last week. State police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof stated that the victim's remains were found buried in an area in Rompin, Jempol, this evening (July 28). "Based on preliminary investigation, the remains are believed to be those of the six-year-old boy who was reported missing in Taman Bukit Indah in Johor Baru on July 24. "A 36-year-old male suspect was subsequently arrested by Johor police to assist in investigations," he said in a statement. DCP Ahmad Dzaffir confirmed that the victim's remains were found as a result of follow-up actions. The victim is believed to have been murdered. AGC appeals sentence for motoring influencer and brother in false report case
KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has filed an appeal against the Muar Magistrates' Court's decision to sentence motoring influencer Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin and his brother, Tengku Abdul Aziz, to one month in jail and a RM1,500 fine for lodging a false report. In a statement, the AGC confirmed the appeal was filed against the sentence given to Tengku Abdul Aziz, who pleaded guilty under Section 182 of the Penal Code for providing false information to a public servant. The appeal also covers Tengku Nizaruddin, who admitted to abetting the offence under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 182. 'This department refers to the Muar Magistrates' Court decision on July 25, 2025, which imposed a sentence of one month's imprisonment from the date of conviction on July 25, 2025, and a fine of RM1,500, in default three months' imprisonment on both offenders, Tengku Abdul Aziz and Tengku Nizaruddin.' The AGC added, 'After examining and considering the decision of the Muar Magistrates' Court, this department has filed a notice of appeal today against the sentence handed down to both offenders.' On July 25, the court sentenced Tengku Nizaruddin, 38, also known as 'Ija', and Tengku Abdul Aziz, 30, to one month's jail and a RM1,500 fine after both pleaded guilty.
