EXCLUSIVE Mary Fowler looks tense as she leaves Nathan Cleary's place after worrying signs about their romance - as star reveals a telling detail

Daily Mail2 days ago
A stressed-looking Mary Fowler has paid her boyfriend Nathan Cleary a quick visit during her surprise trip to Australia amid signs that their romance could be facing difficulties.
The 23-year-old Manchester City star - who landed in Sydney last Wednesday - was photographed arriving at and departing the Penrith halfback's home on Friday, as she leaves her fans wondering about the reason for her journey Down Under.
Fowler was wearing black when she was first seen at the Panthers star's house, before changing into jeans and a blue top on her way out.
It's not likely she has based herself at her partner's house for the duration of her stay in Sydney, however.
A quick comparison of the luggage in Friday's photos and the baggage she brought with her when she flew in to Sydney shows she only took part of her belongings with her as she visited Cleary.
Fowler and Cleary have both refrained from posting anything about each other on social media during her time in Sydney, and some recent changes in the way they interact on and offline have provided fuel for speculation about how their relationship is going.
The Matildas star wasn't any happier when she left - and the baggage she was carrying told a story of its own
The Matildas star has made several trips to Sydney since going public with Cleary in November 2023 and he usually meets her at the airport - but he was nowhere to be seen this time.
Cleary's absence isn't the only unusual change to the dynamic of Australia's most high-profile sporting romance, however.
The four-time NRL premiership winner has long had a set of paw prints on his Instagram bio, likely as a nod to the Panthers.
Fowler used the same emojis on her Instagram bio - but they disappeared recently.
Ever since they got together, the couple have regularly shared and liked posts from and about each other, but that has also changed in the last few weeks.
In an unusual change, Mary didn't like Nathan's raw post about the embarrassment he felt after NSW fell to a heavy loss in the Origin decider against Queensland, in which he referenced the 'self-loathing and hurt' that come with defeat.
Cleary has also dropped the ball when it comes to liking Fowler's posts.
He last did so on June 6, when the 22-year-old posted a selection of photos, one of which featured her and Cleary, who commented, 'Must be nice having a personal photographer follow you around.'
The stars' social media accounts have recently featured signs that could point to a change in their relationship
That was the most recent time Nathan was pictured on her Instagram. She was last pictured on his account on May 13.
Fowler hasn't revealed the reason for her trip to Sydney, but the timing has some fans wondering why she didn't come down a week sooner so she could be there for one of the biggest games of her man's career when NSW tried to win the interstate series.
She has previously explained that despite being born in Cairns, she shifted her allegiance from Queensland to the Blues because of Nathan.
In the past, Fowler has also gone out of her way to back him for big games despite being on the other side of the world - as she did by wearing a Penrith jersey to mark the team's fourth straight grand final win last October.
A more cheerful detail to emerge from the most recent photos of Fowler concerns her comeback from the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.
Unlike Sam Kerr's recovery from the same setback - which has taken far longer than the year that was originally predicted - Fowler's rehab appears to be going very well.
She wasn't wearing a brace on the knee in the photographs, unlike Kerr, whose joint still needed that support when she went into camp with the Matildas in April, 15 months after rupturing her ACL.
Fowler has also posted videos showing her working on her rehab in the gym, featuring her jumping without discomfort in a great sign for fans who are desperate to see her return to the field.
'I have recently made a conscious effort to think that I don't have like a bad knee that needs to be fixed, but I'm getting an upgrade and I'm getting an even better knee,' she said last month.
'I have heard that a lot of girls when they come back … it can be up to a year to feel like probably normal again.

Ruthless Australia deny Russell a winning farewell

July 22 (Reuters) - West Indies stalwart Andre Russell was denied a winning farewell after Josh Inglis and Cameron Green smashed unbeaten half-centuries to secure Australia's eight-wicket victory in the second Twenty20 International on Tuesday. Put into bat, West Indies managed 172-8 as opener Brandon King topscored with a breezy 51 and Russell smashed 36 off 15 balls in his final knock in international cricket. Australia's Inglis (78) and Green (56) then pulverised the West Indies attack in an unbroken 131-run partnership to complete the chase in 15.2 overs, putting the tourists 2-0 ahead in the five-match series. West Indies did not help their own cause by spilling six catches. "I'm very grateful to end my career here playing in front of my own crowd, family and friends," Russell said. "The result didn't go my way, but at the end of the day, I'm happy, I'm grateful. "I wish the boys all the very best, and I wish them luck moving forward," added the 37-year-old two-time World Cup winner. Australia sprang a surprise by asking Glenn Maxwell (12) to open the innings with skipper Mitchell Marsh (21) but the ploy did not pay off, both departing caught behind inside six overs. However, Inglis smashed five sixes in an unbeaten 33-ball blitz, while Green's second successive fifty of the series included four of them. "I think I felt like I managed the tempo pretty well at times," player of the match Inglis said. "After probably being a bit lucky early being dropped, I felt like I managed those middle periods really well with Greeny. "We sort of identified spin was going to be really tough to play on that wicket, so we sort of took our medicine there and went after the quicks." Australia, who won the preceding test series 3-0, can clinch the series with a third successive victory in Basseterre on Saturday.

Josh Inglis and Cameron Green blast Australia to eight-wicket T20 win over West Indies

Josh Inglis and Cameron Green have smashed half-centuries to power Australia to an eight-wicket win over West Indies in their second T20 clash in Jamaica. The hosts posted 172-8 before Inglis (78 not out from 33 balls) and Cameron Green (56no from 32) led Australia to 173-2, and victory with 28 balls to spare. The pair put on a unbroken 131-run partnership off just 64 balls as Australia took a two-nil lead in the five-match series. Inglis was brutal with the bat, blasting a half century from just 22 deliveries – hitting five sixes and seven fours. An equally aggressive Green cracked four sixes and three fours after starring in a three-wicket win in game one with 51 from 26 balls. Australia sent Glenn Maxwell out to open in the innings after dropping Jake Fraser-McGurk but he made just 12 from 10 balls. Captain Mitch Marsh's 21 from 17 included two sixes but when he fell, the match was in the balance at 42-2 in the sixth over. Inglis and Green then launched an audacious attack on the West Indian bowlers, making light work of the run chase. With Inglis in full flight, Green posted his half-century from 28 deliveries. Australia's spinners were vital in restricting the West Indies batsmen. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa claimed 3-29 from four overs and offspinner Glenn Maxwell 2-15 from two as they put the brakes on the hosts after a brisk start. Opener Brandon King (51 from 36 balls) embarked on an early blitz, reaching a half century from 33 balls. West Indies were 59-0 after seven overs but Zampa struck with the last ball of his first over, the eighth of the innings, when King skied to cover. West Indies were 73-2 at the midpoint but lost Shimron Hetmyer (14 from 10) in the next over when caught on the square leg boundary to give Maxwell another wicket. Zampa struck twice in the 14th over, dismissing Roston Chase (16 from 16) and Sherfane Rutherford (0 from 2), leaving the hosts wobbling at 5-98. Home-town hero Andre Russell, in his last international match, then produced some farewell fireworks by cracking 36 from 15 balls featuring four sixes and two fours. Australia made two changes from the team that won the series-opener by three wickets. Left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann was summoned for his T20I debut, replacing paceman Sean Abbott, while Fraser-McGurk was dropped with middle-order blaster Tim David returning from a hamstring injury.

Ozzy Osbourne's chilling admission about his marriage to wife Sharon in resurfaced Australian interview

once admitted his beloved wife Sharon was 'keeping him alive'. The Black Sabbath frontman died aged 76, surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning. In the wake of his death, a resurfaced interview with Australian music guru Billy Pinnell showed the legendary rocker speaking candidly about Sharon's unwavering dedication to him. When Billy asked the superstar what impact Sharon had on his career, Ozzy admitted that without his wife by his side, he would not be alive. 'They say behind every great man, there's a great woman and I think that's true in this case – in my wife,' he said during the sit-down at a takeaway shop in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Truly, without my wife at my side, I wouldn't be here – without any doubt.' When Billy pressed the frontman to elaborate on his comment, Ozzy did not shy away from the subject. 'I wouldn't be alive, I wouldn't be singing,' he said. 'She saved my life every day.' Ozzy also expressed regret at the toll his much-publicised drug and alcohol abuse had on Sharon, including abuse he meted out to her. In 1989, he attempted to kill Sharon while high on drugs, and seven years before that, he urinated on the treasured Alamo Cenotaph in Texas, an act that saw him banned from San Antonio for a decade. He was also injured in a quad bike crash at his UK home in 2003, an episode that had a serious impact on his fragile health. Yet there was also redemption for the troubled singer, who relaunched himself as a reality TV star in The Osbournes in the early 2000s, after getting clean from drink and drugs with the help of Sharon. 'The crap that I put her through when I was abusing myself – I'd disappear for weeks on end and I'd smack her in the eye and do all these horrible things, and she stuck by me and she got me through all kinds of stuff,' Ozzy said. 'She's still there – we've got three beautiful children – and I'm coming through it, you know?' Ozzy even offered some advice for other couples, adding: 'The thing about a relationship is, it's a rocky road – every one has its ups and downs. 'Don't give up because we're now getting closer after all we've been through. We're really happy now. I love her.' Ozzy and Sharon, the rocker's second wife, were married on 4 July, 1982 in Hawaii, and the couple shared three children – Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. He also shared three children with first wife Thelma Riley – adopted son Elliot Kingsley, 59, Jessica, 53, and Louis, 50. The resurfaced clip comes as Ozzy's family revealed the news of his passing on Wednesday, just weeks after the Black Sabbath frontman performed from a throne on stage at Villa Park in Birmingham. In a statement, his family said: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.' 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family's privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' The rocker was able to bid an emotional farewell to his fans on stage this month as he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time since 2005. 'You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart,' Osbourne told the crowd in his final speech. The music legend vowed, however, that it would be his final ever performance due to his health, having opened up about his battle with Parkinson's in 2020.
