EXCLUSIVE Mary Fowler looks tense as she leaves Nathan Cleary's place after worrying signs about their romance - as star reveals a telling detail

Daily Mail21-07-2025
A stressed-looking Mary Fowler has paid her boyfriend Nathan Cleary a quick visit during her surprise trip to Australia amid signs that their romance could be facing difficulties.
The 23-year-old Manchester City star - who landed in Sydney last Wednesday - was photographed arriving at and departing the Penrith halfback's home on Friday, as she leaves her fans wondering about the reason for her journey Down Under.
Fowler was wearing black when she was first seen at the Panthers star's house, before changing into jeans and a blue top on her way out.
It's not likely she has based herself at her partner's house for the duration of her stay in Sydney, however.
A quick comparison of the luggage in Friday's photos and the baggage she brought with her when she flew in to Sydney shows she only took part of her belongings with her as she visited Cleary.
Fowler and Cleary have both refrained from posting anything about each other on social media during her time in Sydney, and some recent changes in the way they interact on and offline have provided fuel for speculation about how their relationship is going.
The Matildas star wasn't any happier when she left - and the baggage she was carrying told a story of its own
The Matildas star has made several trips to Sydney since going public with Cleary in November 2023 and he usually meets her at the airport - but he was nowhere to be seen this time.
Cleary's absence isn't the only unusual change to the dynamic of Australia's most high-profile sporting romance, however.
The four-time NRL premiership winner has long had a set of paw prints on his Instagram bio, likely as a nod to the Panthers.
Fowler used the same emojis on her Instagram bio - but they disappeared recently.
Ever since they got together, the couple have regularly shared and liked posts from and about each other, but that has also changed in the last few weeks.
In an unusual change, Mary didn't like Nathan's raw post about the embarrassment he felt after NSW fell to a heavy loss in the Origin decider against Queensland, in which he referenced the 'self-loathing and hurt' that come with defeat.
Cleary has also dropped the ball when it comes to liking Fowler's posts.
He last did so on June 6, when the 22-year-old posted a selection of photos, one of which featured her and Cleary, who commented, 'Must be nice having a personal photographer follow you around.'
The stars' social media accounts have recently featured signs that could point to a change in their relationship
That was the most recent time Nathan was pictured on her Instagram. She was last pictured on his account on May 13.
Fowler hasn't revealed the reason for her trip to Sydney, but the timing has some fans wondering why she didn't come down a week sooner so she could be there for one of the biggest games of her man's career when NSW tried to win the interstate series.
She has previously explained that despite being born in Cairns, she shifted her allegiance from Queensland to the Blues because of Nathan.
In the past, Fowler has also gone out of her way to back him for big games despite being on the other side of the world - as she did by wearing a Penrith jersey to mark the team's fourth straight grand final win last October.
A more cheerful detail to emerge from the most recent photos of Fowler concerns her comeback from the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.
Unlike Sam Kerr's recovery from the same setback - which has taken far longer than the year that was originally predicted - Fowler's rehab appears to be going very well.
She wasn't wearing a brace on the knee in the photographs, unlike Kerr, whose joint still needed that support when she went into camp with the Matildas in April, 15 months after rupturing her ACL.
Fowler has also posted videos showing her working on her rehab in the gym, featuring her jumping without discomfort in a great sign for fans who are desperate to see her return to the field.
'I have recently made a conscious effort to think that I don't have like a bad knee that needs to be fixed, but I'm getting an upgrade and I'm getting an even better knee,' she said last month.
'I have heard that a lot of girls when they come back … it can be up to a year to feel like probably normal again.

Meet Married At First Sight's hottest bride ever! Tattooed and surgically-enhanced bombshell Gia Fleur is 'not here to make friends'

Daily Mail Australia can reveal the most outrageous bride ever to walk down the aisle on Married At First Sight - and she's not here to make friends. Melbourne-based beauty Gia Fleur has officially joined the cast of the thirteenth series - and insiders say she's set to deliver the most explosive moments of the season. With her sleeve of jaw-dropping tattoos, surgically-enhanced curves and no-filter attitude, Gia is already being dubbed 'the wildest bride in MAFS history' by insiders. 'Gia doesn't give a single f*** what anyone thinks,' one insider told Daily Mail Australia. 'She's bold, she's brash and she says whatever's on her mind - which makes for absolutely iconic TV.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Daily Mail Australia can reveal that Gia will be paired with equally inked groom Scott McCristal. The tattooed tradie-turned-entrepreneur is no stranger to the spotlight himself, having appeared on Million Dollar Island and Holey Moley - setting up what producers are calling a 'fiery, unpredictable match made in chaos'. 'They're both huge personalities,' another source revealed. 'It's explosive. There are blow-ups, big emotions and some serious chemistry. Viewers are either going to love them or hate them - but no one will be able to look away.' From her icy blonde mane and sultry pout to her head-turning fashion, Gia is a walking showstopper. A self-described 'glam girl with grit,' Gia has made no secret of her love for cosmetic enhancements, showing off her flawless jawline, sculpted cheekbones and bombshell curves across her social media feed. Per her now private Instagram account she's often seen rocking plunging necklines, high-cut minis and designer heels, with looks ranging from après ski glam in Aspen to flirty mini dresses and statement boots. One thing's clear: she's always serving. But it's her tattoos that really do the talking. Her right arm is a full sleeve of bold, colourful ink, featuring a pin-up style goddess, vibrant florals, and detailed line work. There's also a striking thigh tattoo and smaller pieces scattered over her toned legs and shoulders - a clear expression of her edgy, rebellious streak. Friends close to the bride say she's not just beauty and boldness - Gia has a heart of gold and a fiercely loyal support network behind her. 'She's wild, sure, but she's also incredibly caring and protective of the people she loves,' said a close pal. 'She's been through a lot, and she's unapologetically herself now.' Another friend told Daily Mail Australia: 'Gia is the definition of a modern power woman. 'She's outspoken, confident, and not afraid to call people out on their BS - but she's also super fun and brings this amazing energy everywhere she goes.' Scott, meanwhile isn't just inked and handsome - he's a savvy businessman with multiple ventures to his name. The Melbourne-based groom boasts over 25,000 followers on Instagram, where he regularly shares shirtless beach snaps and a glimpse into his high-energy lifestyle. Per her now private Instagram account she's often seen rocking plunging necklines, high-cut minis and designer heels, with looks ranging from après ski glam in Aspen to flirty mini dresses and statement boots. One thing's clear: she's always serving His profile picture alone - showcasing his sculpted abs in bright pink swim shorts against a tropical paradise - says it all. But beyond the selfies, Scott runs three successful businesses: A Lend Finance, Jetski United and McCristal Motors. 'He's a hustler, no doubt,' one source said. 'Scott's got the gift of the gab, and he walks into every room like he owns it. He's confident, cheeky, and knows exactly what he brings to the table.' With Gia and Scott paired together, MAFS producers are bracing for fireworks from the very first episode. 'Neither of them is here to play it safe,' a production insider added. 'You've got two big characters who both like to be in control - so expect chaos, tears, passion and plenty of headline-making moments.'

Meanwhile, at the rugby... Zara and Mike Tindall lark about as they cheer on British and Irish Lions in Melbourne

Zara and Mike Tindall donned their beanie hats and red jerseys as they cheered on the British and Irish Lions in Melbourne this weekend. Zara, 44, looked relaxed and radiant as she joined husband Mike, 46, in the stands of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, to cheer on the team as the couple marked their 14th wedding anniversary with a trip down under. In a selfie shared to Mike's Instagram, the royal couple beamed donned full British and Irish Lions outfits including matching tops and beanies. The former English former rugby union player praised the 'incredible' performance which saw the British and Irish Lions triumph over the Wallabies in a 29-26 victory. He wrote: 'What a day Saturday was!! Lions an incredible come back, but massive shift by the Wallabies, frustrated no doubt but they get one more chance next Saturday!!' In their usual light-hearted manner, the couple also larked about while at the sporting event - with Mike donning a comical wig in the stands. The Lions win caps off the couple's extensive trip to Australia, where they've been touring the country this month. Last week Zara and Mike were soaking up the Queensland sunshine, enjoying a rare break from their busy schedules during a stunning getaway at Hamilton Island. The former England rugby star shared a series of scenic photos to social media, showing himself and Zara aboard a luxury yacht as they cruised through the crystal-clear waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. 'We had the chance to spend a few days on Hamilton Island this week – despite all the times we have been to Australia, we have never been here before and it's been amazing,' Mike wrote in the heartfelt caption. 'It's our first time being out on the water in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park too and it really was unreal. Queensland definitely has it all. Made some incredible memories. What an unforgettable way to spend some downtime.' He added hashtags including #familytime and #memories, tagging both @queensland and @hamiltonisland. The couple, dressed casually in white tees and shorts, beamed in one photo taken on the deck of their vessel, with the ocean stretching out behind them. In another snap, beachgoers are seen enjoying the balmy Queensland weather under clear blue skies as the pair relaxed off-camera. It marks another cherished chapter in the Tindalls' long-running love affair with Australia. The royal duo – who have been married since 2011 – are regular visitors to the country, travelling Down Under nearly every year for the Magic Millions equestrian carnival on the Gold Coast. Zara, daughter of Princess Anne and niece to King Charles, is an accomplished equestrian and Olympic silver medallist. She's also a long-time ambassador for Magic Millions, a high-profile role she's held since 2012. Speaking previously, Zara said the country feels like her 'home away from home'. 'We have always loved Australia, and it is like a home from home for us... although the Magic Millions carnival is busy... we couldn't ask for a better way to start the year,' she said. Zara previously confirmed she and her family holidayed in Australia previously, and that they adore the lifestyle. Speaking to Hello! magazine, Zara once admitted she'd consider moving Down Under if the timing were right: 'Probably not while I'm still competing… but after that… yes, I think if an opportunity came up we'd definitely think about it.' Mike added: 'Early January is bleak over here [in the UK] so it's nice to go and have a bit of sun. I love the lifestyle of Australia and the ability to get up early, go on the beach – especially for the kids. 'It's not a rushed lifestyle. I think it's a great place and we enjoy it so much.' The pair famously met in Sydney in 2003 at the Wharf Bar in Manly while Zara was on a gap year and Mike was recovering from being cut from the World Cup squad. They were introduced by Prince Harry and soon hit it off. The pair married in 2011 and the couple have visited Australia almost every year since, only taking a break between 2020 and 2021 during the Covid-19 lockdowns. They share three children, Mia Grace, 10, Lucas, three, and Lena Elizabeth, six.
