King: Jordan will not tolerate any party attempting to tamper with its security
His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a meeting with political and media figures on Sunday, affirmed that Jordan will not tolerate any party attempting to meddle in its security, stability, or the safety of its citizens, stressing that the Kingdom will not be a battleground for any conflict.
During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty expressed appreciation for the role of Jordanian elites in clarifying the country's position internally and externally, as well as strengthening national unity.
The King highlighted the dangerous consequences of 'Israel's' aggression against Iran, noting Jordan's diplomatic efforts regionally and internationally to achieve comprehensive calm in the region and restore security and stability, as well as its endeavours to coordinate with active partners to achieve peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
The meeting also covered His Majesty's recent working visit to Europe, which focused on gaining international support for the legitimate rights of Palestinians, the need for an immediate end to the war on Gaza, the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip, and an end to escalations in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
For their part, the attendees praised the King's diplomatic efforts to safeguard Jordan's interests and protect its assets and achievements, stressing that these efforts are supported and appreciated by Jordanians.
The attendees also praised Jordan's unwavering stance in relation to the Palestinian cause, and its support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, saying that a stalwart Jordan is a stalwart supporter of its Palestinian and Arab brethren.
A number of attendees said the 'Israeli' escalation threatens the security of the entire region, which calls for unifying Arab positions to put pressure to stop the escalation and restore stability.
They also praised the role of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security agencies in protecting the Kingdom's security, while emphasising the need to strengthen the home front.
A number of attendees also noted that the surrounding regional challenges have reinforced Jordanians' patriotic values and rallied them around their country and its leadership, especially among the younger generations.

In lieu of defeating Hamas, Netanyahu elevates release of Gaza captives to top priority
'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that his their "victory" over Iran in their 12-day war had created "opportunities", first including freeing captives held in Gaza. "Many opportunities have opened up now following this victory. First of all, to rescue the hostages," Netanyahu said in an address to officers of the security services. "Of course, we will also have to solve the Gaza issue, to defeat Hamas, but I estimate that we will achieve both goals," he added. In a statement late Sunday, the main group representing the captives' families welcomed "the fact that after 20 months, the return of the hostages has finally been designated as the top priority by the prime minister". "This is a very important statement that must translate into a single comprehensive deal to bring back all 50 hostages and end the fighting in Gaza," the 'Hostages and Missing Families Forum' said. Palestinian armed groups seized 251 captives during the events of October 7, 2023. Of these, 49 are still believed to be held in Gaza, including 27 the 'Israeli' military says are dead. Hamas also holds the body of an 'Israeli' soldier killed there in 2014. The forum called for the captives' "release, not rescue".

Occupation conducts military exercise on border with Jordan after completion of "Gilead" Division
Ammon News - The Israeli occupation army revealed that the newly established "Gilead 96" Division on the border with Jordan conducted its first large-scale military exercise last Thursday. The exercise simulates emergency scenarios and rapid response to escalating events to enhance combat readiness. Units from various security agencies participated and were supervised by specialized training centers, according to Ynet. The commander of the Israeli army's Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth, said that "the outbreak of war with Iran provided an opportune opportunity to accelerate the formation of the new division on the Jordanian border." The Israeli occupation army officially announced the completion of the formation of the "Gilead 96" Division along the eastern border with Jordan just 48 hours after the outbreak of the Iran-Israel war this month, although the division's operational launch had been planned for August. The acceleration of the division's establishment came in light of rapid regional developments. It was formed to bolster Israeli defenses on the eastern border, and is now responsible for securing the border with Jordan, Ynet added.
