The latest iOS update might have reactivated Apple Intelligence features
Devices that displayed a welcome screen after updating seem to have a higher chance of these features being re-activated. Reddit user u/Hanthunius reported the bug on their iPhone 15 Pro Max, while others saw the features make a comeback on Mac devices. MacRumors tested this theory, and while Apple Intelligence remained disabled on iPadOS and iOS in their tests, the Mac Mini was a different story.
The team saw the Welcome screen appear on the Mac Mini, but on none of the other devices. They also pointed out that unlike typical Welcome screen, this one lacked the option to set it up later and forced users to enable the feature to continue.
Aside from the fact that this is not a user-friendly approach, re-enabling Apple Intelligence poses other problems. It requires roughly 7GB of memory per device, so users with limited storage might disable Apple Intelligence to make room for applications they use more often.
When iOS 18.3 rolled out, it made Apple Intelligence an opt-out feature. That means that it's turned on by default on any compatible device, and if you don't wish to use the feature, you need to turn it off.
If you previously had Apple Intelligence disabled, check to make sure your settings haven't changed. This particular bug seems to be sporadic, but if you've updated to the latest version of iOS — and especially if you received a Welcome screen upon turning your device back on — then it's worth taking a look.

Good news for Samsung users, with confirmation that its One UI 8 upgrade which brings Android 16 to its phones will include Google's most significant upgrade of the year. And while that has come to Pixels as well, Samsung should make it better. We're talking the new Advanced Protection Mode, which narrows the security and privacy gap to iPhone with a single click. Android Authority confirms Galaxy phones eligible for One UI 8 will get Android 16's 'powerful' new update. 'This optional mode activates various safeguards, such as blocking app sideloading, preventing USB data access, and disabling 2G network connections.' And while restricting sideloading in particular is a major issue for many diehard Android fans, it's absolutely the right move for security minded Galaxy owners. Samsung has a number of added security benefits over the stock Android 16 upgrade, including a enhanced Secure Folder with a new 'kill switch' and its Knox ecosystem, that uses reinforces the security of all your Samsung devices by creating your own mini walled garden. Again, an iPhone-like feature that has come to Galaxy. Enable Advanced Protection in One UI 8 Apple has its own Lockdown Mode, which it says its meant only for those users likely to be targeted by specific attacks — think politicians, activists, lawyers and journalists. Google's new Advanced Protection Mode is not as restrictive and should not disrupt your phone to the same extent as Apple's Lockdown Mode. As such, Google says it's for any security minded users who want to better safeguard their device and their data. As Android Authority explains, to turn on Advanced Protection Mode in One Ui 8: This is not the same as Google's Advanced Protection Program, which goes further and does restrict some of your online and on-device activities. Unlike Android's new one-click security upgrade, Google says the wider program is to protect 'users with high visibility and sensitive information from targeted online attacks.'

Why Arm Holdings Stock Soared 30% in June
Through its CPU architecture licensing, Arm has broad exposure to AI growth. The stock seemed to gain on Apple's WWDC conference. Its valuation could put pressure on the stock from here. 10 stocks we like better than Arm Holdings › Shares of Arm Holdings (NASDAQ: ARM) shot up last month on a broader bullish trend in the semiconductor industry that lifted peers like Nvidia and AMD as concerns around tariffs and a potential recession simmered down, and the risk-on artificial intelligence (AI) trade returned. There was no single news item that drove Arm stock higher, but several events combined to send the stock up 30% by the end of the month, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. As you can see from the chart below, the stock marched steadily higher over the course of the month, easily outperforming the S&P 500. There was relatively little company-specific news out on Arm last month, but the company, which is best known for power-efficient CPU architecture, is a close partner of tech giants like Apple and Nvidia, giving it a broad range of exposure across the tech industry. The company, which licenses its architecture to those partners, is also sensitive to the economic cycle, which can drive demand. So it responded favorably to signs that the U.S. economy remained resilient, according to data, even with new tariffs in place. In fact, one of Arm's best days last month came from Apple's World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC), where Apple announced a number of new features to its iOS software and Apple Intelligence. Apple is a major customer for Arm, and the news was enough to drive Apple stock up 4.1% on the day on its second-highest trading volume day of the month. After Arm stock dipped briefly, it surged over the last full week of June in line with broader market gains as Mideast tension tamped down, and inflation remained modest through May, showing that tariffs had not yet had a meaningful impact on prices. Arm closed out the month receiving a bullish note from Guggenheim, which maintained a buy rating on the stock and raised its price target from $147 to $187. Arm stock has fallen over the first two days of July as the valuation is arguably stretched following last week's gains. The company's competitive advantages are formidable due to its technological edge in power efficiency, but significant growth is already baked into the stock as it trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 41. While the business looks like a good bet to continue growing, investors may want to wait for a more attractive price point before buying the stock.
