Axia driver carrying car-sized load arrested
THE man who went viral for dangerously driving a Perodua Axia with a load nearly the same size of the car strapped to the vehicle's roof has been arrested.
He was nabbed while driving along the Dengkil-Banting road, Harian Metro reported.
Sepang District police chief Asst Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said a video of the driver and vehicle was posted on Facebook at 10am on May 19.
'Following the viral video, police managed to locate the vehicle about an hour later on the same road,' he said.
Initial investigations revealed that the 59-year-old driver possessed a valid driver's licence and the vehicle has all the necessary documents.
'The driver claimed that he was unwell at the time,' ACP Norhizam said, adding that further checks revealed that the driver had sustained head injuries from a road accident several years ago.
The man has since been released on police bail, while the vehicle has been seized for further inspection.

Trial for Chinese national who allegedly stabbed ex-girlfriend on uni campus
SHAH ALAM: A foreign student who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend in the neck has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here. Chinese national You Wei, 22, was accused of causing grievous hurt by using a weapon to Wu Jalin, 20, on the second floor of a private university in Subang Jaya at 6.30pm on July 14. According to the charge sheet, You stabbed Wu, also a Chinese national, on the left side of her neck with a knife, which could have caused death. The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code, was read out to him in English before judge Norazlin Othman. If convicted, You faces a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine or whipping. DPP Nurul Sofea Jaysal did not propose any bail for the accused pending an Immigration Department review. His passport is valid until Oct 31, 2026. In mitigation, You's counsel Revin Kumar said his client had a mental health condition. "He receives bipolar disorder treatment at a private clinic," said Revin, adding You had been remanded for seven days since his detention on July 14. The court then granted You bail of RM20,000 with two sureties and to report once a month. He was also ordered to surrender his passport to the court and not to harass the victim or any prosecution witness. Norazlin then set Sept 17 for case mention.
