Durg-bound train searched in Jhansi over bomb scare
The threat turned out to be a hoax, and the train resumed its journey after a thorough inspection.
According to SP, GRP, Vipul Srivastav, after the train left Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi around 6pm on Friday, a call was recieved at the railway helpline 139, claiming that a bomb had been planted in a sleeper coach of the train. The railway control room in Lucknow started preparations for search of the train at Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi station.
As the train reached the station at 11.31 pm, city magistrate Pramod Jha, SP (Railways) Vipul Kumar Srivastava, RPF commandant Vivekanand Narayan and security officials reached the spot and evacuated the platforms 2 and 3. Other trains coming to the platforms were diverted. All passengers were asked to deboard, and a thorough search was carried out. However, nothing suspicious was found except three unattended bags.

Srivastav said a man from Gurugram had made the initial call after reportedly overhearing a suspicious conversation about planting a bomb at the station. The police are now investigating to identify the three individuals allegedly mentioned in the conversation. An inspection confirmed that the unattended bags belonged to a train attendant. After an intensive search, the train departed at 12.30 am, much to the relief of passengers.

Kash Patel has been blamed in an NYT editorial for making Americans feel unsafe. In a stinging editorial piece, the New York Times criticized FBI director Kash Patel for making the agency an "instrument of Mr Trump's political will". It said that Patel's main qualification is his unquestioning fealty to President Donald Trump and so on expected lines, Patel has assigned agents to pursue long-running MAGA grievances. And one of them is to prove that China had some role to play in manipulating the 2020 election.
