Maclean made her television debut in BBC One's Silent Witness before joining the cast of season four of Netflix's Sex Education as school student Jem.
In 2024, the young actress portrayed Agatha 'Taggie' O'Hara in Disney+ series Rivals, the overlooked daughter of Declan (Aidan Turner) and Maud (Victoria Smurfit) who struggles with dyslexia while trying to pursue culinary dreams. She's set to return in season two after the series was met with widespread critical acclaim.
Panthaki's upcoming project, co-written with Jason Kavan, is his directorial debut. The British star has acted opposite Stephen Graham in Marcella (2016-2020) and Boiling Point (2021), the latter of which earned him a British Independent Film Award nomination, as well as Gangs of London (2020) and The Serpent Queen (2022), among other credits.
Panthaki will produce In Starland alongside Daniel Khalili (Trespass Against Us) under their newly formed production company Le Bateau Lavoir, which succeeds Panthaki's Urban Way, Variety was first to report. Emmy-winning producer Daisy Allsop will also produce under her Archface banner.
Production on In Starland got underway in Mississippi in April.

Disney Reportedly Rebooting Classic Movie Franchise
It looks like Disney is apparently eager to reboot a classic movie franchise that's been part of their library for quite some time. While nothing is confirmed at this time, it would certainly make sense, especially since the franchise is one of the biggest cinematic properties of all-time. Details regarding the report at this time are currently scarce, though a new report noted that we could hear some actual concrete information going into next year. For now, the studio's plan is to let the franchise rest for some time given their recent attempt at a sequel, and then they'll allegedly prepare a full-on reboot. Here's what the DisInsider shared: 'Lucasfilm is letting the franchise rest for a bit before they do a full reboot of the franchise,' referring to the Indiana Jones brand. 'I would expect the studio to announce something next year at the D23 Expo because even though the last film tanked at the box office, Indiana Jones is still an iconic IP and Disney/Lucasfilm do not want to waste that.' Obviously this should be taken with a grain of salt, especially until Disney does announce something concrete, but it does make sense they'd like to dust off the Indiana Jones property at some point for something new. Franchise star Harrison Ford is only getting older and if they want to keep the series moving forward, they'll have to cast someone younger to play the part. Of course, there are many routes that strategy could go. They could completely remake Raiders of the Lost Ark with a new actor playing Indy, they could do some kind of prequel film series similar to The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles , or they could simply focus on the younger Dial of Destiny character Helena Shaw played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. They could also go in a completely unknown direction as well. Ultimately, it's their intellectual property now, so anything can happen with Indiana Jones moving into the future. Hopefully, however, whatever decisions Disney makes for the Indiana Jones franchise will be respectful of the IP and keep fans happy with the results.

‘Eddington' actor Micheal Ward charged with rape and sexual assault in U.K.
British actor Micheal Ward, known for the Netflix series 'Top Boy' and and most recently Ari Aster's movie 'Eddington,' is facing charges of allegedly raping and sexually assaulting a woman in the United Kingdom in 2023. London's Metropolitan Police announced in a Friday statement that prosecutors had charged BAFTA winner Ward, 28, with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault following an investigation into an alleged January 2023 incident. The statement did not provide details about the incident, including the location and the identity of Ward's accuser. 'Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward — we know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports,' Det. Supt. Scott Ware said in the statement. Representatives for Ward did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment Friday. The actor is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court in London on Aug. 28. Ward, who was born in Jamaica, broke into acting less than a decade ago, appearing in the British drama series 'Top Boy' and rapper Rapman's 2019 film 'Blue Story.' He won BAFTA's rising star award in 2020. That same year he appeared in 'The Old Guard' opposite Charlize Theron and in Steve McQueen's 'Small Axe' miniseries. His movie credits also include Sam Mendes' 'Empire of Light,' 'The Book of Clarence,' 'Bob Marley: One Love' and 'The Beautiful Game.' He currently stars as a young police officer in 'Eddington,' the latest film from 'Hereditary' and 'Midsommar' filmmaker Aster.

House Republicans Vote to Rename Kennedy Center Opera House After Melania Trump
House Republicans have made passage of the fiscal 2026 Interior-Environment spending bill contingent, at least for now, on renaming the opera house at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after Melania Trump. The procedural markup of the spending bill voted on by House appropriators on Tuesday contained a short amendment from Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson: 'Makes technical changes, designates the First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.' More from The Hollywood Reporter Trump's End Game With The Wall Street Journal Defamation Lawsuit Scooter Braun's Response to Still-Angry Taylor Swift Fans on Catalog Purchase: "They Made the Horrible Miscalculation That I Care" Trump's Side Deal With "New Owners" of Paramount May Hint at FCC Concessions The amendment was adopted by a vote of 33 to 25, though the proposed legislation with the renaming amendment has yet to receive a vote by the full Congress, nor is such polling assured. Other sycophantic Republican lawmakers have similarly looked to honor (and flatter) Trump during his second term by, for example, Congressman Addison McDowell proposing legislation to redesignate Washington Dulles International Airport as Donald J. Trump International Airport; new Texas Rep. Brandon Gill proposing a measure to require all $100 bills be redesigned to have Trump's face on them; California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa announcing he's nominating Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize; and Upper New York State Rep. Claudia Tenney proposing Trump's birthday become a national holiday. The possible opera house renaming follows U.S. President Donald Trump and wife Melania in mid-June attending a local debut of Les Misérables at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The performance was marked by a protest attendance by local drag queens and an eruption of booing and reactive MAGA-rally-style chants from the crowd. The John F. Kennedy Center had already been retooled soon after Trump took control of the institution at the start of his second term, fired its entire board, then replaced them with loyalists including Susie Wiles, his chief of staff, second lady Usha Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's wife, Allison, and Fox News hosts Maria Bartiromo and Laura Ingraham. The U.S. leader's hand-picked board soon elected Trump to be chairman of the cultural venue. A touring production of the hit musical Hamilton decided against going ahead with plans to play the Kennedy Center in light of Trump's takeover of the institution.
