The Love Island 'Grafties' Shock Twists Revealed

Graziadaily24-07-2025
Over it's 12 seasons, there's been plenty of things that have since become staples of Love Island : Casa Amor, Movie Night, and of course, the legendary Grafties.
The Grafties is back, with ITV recently opening their votes. And if this year's nominations are anything to go by, some of our islanders – including Dejon Noel-Williams and Harry Cooksley – could be in for an uncomfortable evening.
However, the nominations have left some Love Island fans feeling unhappy. With Toni Laites and Shakira Khan's names popping up in several categories, some viewers have hit out at producers – claiming the fan favourite duo are being given the 'meal girl' edit.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one fan wrote, 'Watch the Grafties make Toni, Yas and Shakira look bad, and watch Harry, Dejon and Meg get away with everything. This show is boring now.'
'First they bring back Megan, now pretty much all of the negative clips of Shakira for the Grafties. Love Island producers are really working overtime to try and cause a Shakira downfall,' added another.
And for some, the Grafties might be their final straw when it comes to the ITV dating now.
'The last two eps plus the preview for the Grafties tell me everything I need to know… The producers want Meg and Dejon to win for whatever reason. They rate game playing characters over genuine connections now. Throw away the whole show at this point,' wrote one viewer.
They're set to cause chaos during tonight's episode – but what exactly are the Grafties? Here's everything you need to know.
The Grafties are a public voted award ceremony that takes place in the villa, where islanders are awarded trophies based on certain categories. This year, viewers were given the chance to vote via polls on the official Love Island Instagram page story.
A little bit like the infamous movie night, the red carpet is rolled out as clips are shown on the big screen for our islanders to watch. More often than not, it's the prime time to bring up old drama with some clips our contestants have never seen before.
It's caused chaos in the villa during previous seasons. Need we remind you of 2023's Messy Mitch, whose savage 'Mad Moves' speech led to one of the show's most dramatic moments?
For this year's Grafties, our categories and nominees are:
The best no filter moment: Dejon, Harry, Toni & Shakira.
Most emotional moment: Cach, Shakira, Toni
Best double act: Shakira & Toni, Helena & Dejon, Meg & Helena.
Unfinished business: Harry & Emma, Shakira & Harry, Conor & Meg
Flirtiest performance: Harry, Jamie, Harry & Angel
Eat, sleep, crack on, repeat: Dejon, Conor, Helena
Fans who snuck a late look at the polls think they may have some idea who could be taking home the trophy in certain categories, but we'll have to wait and see.
We've got bad news. Unfortunately, the public vote is now closed. If you didn't vote in the Instagram polls, then you've missed out. The official Love Island Instagram announced the nominees on the 22nd July, allowing fans to vote for 24 hours exclusively via their social media.
Even if you didn't vote, you'll still get to see all the drama unfold.
2025's Love Island Grafties will take place tonight, 24 July 2025. As per usual, you can see it by tuning in for Love Island at 9pm on ITV2 or ITVX. It's about to get messy.

Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews axed from ITV soap

Matthews has been a Corrie regular for the past 10 years, playing the role of Jenny Connor. She first appeared on the ITV soap (as Jenny Connor) back in 1986. Matthews departed the show in 1991, and apart from a brief appearance in 1993, she returned to cobbles in 2015. However, Matthews is now set for her second departure from Coronation Street, revealing on Friday (August 1) that she will be leaving the ITV soap after "doing an extra ten years". In a post on Instagram, she said: "I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much! "It's time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I'd 'grown up.' "Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter." A post shared by Sally Ann Matthews (@sallyannmatthews) Fellow TV stars and fans of the show took to social media following the news to share just how "wonderful" Matthews had been on Coronation Street and how much she would be missed. Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies, commenting on Matthews' Instagram post, said: "You've been absolutely wonderful!" While former Coronation Street and Casualty actress Melanie Hill commented: "Onwards Sal. Corrie will miss you." Jenny and Debbie ARE Corrie. "How much left is there that we can call true Corrie. Bad omens, think there's a genuine crisis there." Another added: "Even though I'm not watching corrie atm sally ann matthews leaving is going to be a massive loss for the show."

In scenes that will air on Sunday night, former cast made their epic returns to make the huge decision. Former Islanders including Harry Cooksley's ex Emma Munro, Billykiss Azeez, and smitten couple Harrison Solomon and Lauren Wood, voted for the couple they wanted to boot. While The Sun can't reveal their identities at this crucial stage of the ITV2 dating show, we can share that Islanders made their decisions having watched back footage and been shocked by what they saw. A source said: 'This couple have been a big part of this series so this is a shocking moment. 'But having watched it back, ex- Islanders have become privy to action they weren't fully aware of and it left them more than questioning the integrity of this connection. 'The couple were sent packing on Friday afternoon and the scenes will air on Sunday.' It comes after Conor and Megan were dumped from the villa following a public vote on Friday night. Receiving the fewest votes from viewers, Conor and Megan were announced to be leaving before they packed their cases and departed the villa. Megan had only recently returned to the villa as a bombshell after previously having a connection with Conor the first time around, earlier on in the series. Love Island stars in shock as OG couple are brutally dumped just DAYS before the final Fans were fuming that the pair had the least votes and were in turn branded the least compatible couple on the show. Many thought another couple should have been voted as the least compatible, with several taking to social media to air their thoughts. One person said on X: "MEGAN AND CONNOR. "THIS IS RIGGED. OWN UP NOW. NOW." Another added: "Gutted to seeing the both of them being dumped from the villa. "So happy for the both of them being together. And it should have been Meg & Dejon." Conor and Megan's dumping came just mere hours after Helena and Blu were dumped from the Islander. With the final now in touching distance, the couples that remain are Meg and Dejon; Shakira and Harry; Toni and Cach; Yasmin and Jamie; and Angel and Ty. But who will win the coveted £50,000 and title of winning couple? And which couple won't make the final after being voted out by their former co-stars?

Richard Madeley lookalike contest flyers baffle Stockport locals

The mystery behind a series of flyers advertising a Richard Madeley lookalike contest has caused a stir across a Greater Manchester borough. Hand-printed posters about the competition have been placed across Stockport and become the subject of speculation across social media, with prizes on offer for the top three lookalikes to the daytime TV presenter and former Manchester resident. It will take place at 11:30 BST on 17 August in Stockport's Alexandra Park, according to the flyers spotted in the same park on Saturday. Nicci Owen, who owns a coffee kiosk in the park, said the flyers had been "dotted across notice boards" but then mysteriously disappeared. She told BBC Radio Manchester: "No one saw who put them up but, obviously as soon as anyone saw it they were just so excited. But, is it real?"Madeley, from Essex, presented ITV's This Morning alongside his now-wife Judy Finnigan before the couple went on to host Richard & Judy from 2001 to now occasionally presents on ITV's breakfast programme Good Morning Britain.
