Liam and Noel ‘staying in separate hotels' on Oasis tour

Telegraph13 hours ago
Noel and Liam Gallagher stayed at different hotels 20 miles apart on the first two nights of the Oasis reunion tour, it has been claimed.
The Oasis frontmen put years of mutual animosity behind them to perform together in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday to 75,000 fans at the Principality Stadium.
After the gigs ended, however, the brothers travelled to separate hotels, MailOnline reported.
When Oasis's two-hour long gig ended on Friday night, Liam left the stage immediately and got into a black SUV. Noel, meanwhile, remained on the stage and waved to fans before walking off with the rest of the band.
Liam, 52, is said to have booked the Celtic Manor Resort, which is located on the edge of Newport.
Meanwhile, Noel, 58, stayed at the Parkgate Hotel, a four-star venue next to the Principality Stadium.
Last month, the hotel suggested on TikTok it might be hosting one of the brothers. 'Rumour has it a certain rock 'n' roll star is checking in ahead of the big gig at the Principality,' a spokesman said at the time.
He is said to have stayed at the hotel with his daughter, Anaïs Gallagher, a 25-year-old model who also attended the gig.
It is unclear whether the brothers' separate hotel bookings were down to tensions in the band.
'The atmosphere was absolutely electric and Liam and Noel were delighted with the first night,' a source told The Sun on Sunday.
'They were a bit shell-shocked. It went better than anyone could have imagined. The lead-up has all been carefully orchestrated, as everyone knows how delicate and fragile Liam and Noel's relationship is.
'They don't want to over-expose themselves to each other. Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space.'
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, however, another source said: 'They can't stand each other because they still have not forgiven each other. It's all very frosty and awkward. We all doubt they'll make it to Australia at this rate.'
As the show began shortly after 8pm, the Gallagher brothers walked onstage side-by-side before clasping their hands together in the air.
For the rest of the set, however, the pair stood about 30ft apart and interacted little.
Oasis broke up in 2009 after a backstage altercation between Noel and Liam at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris.
In the years since, the former bandmates traded insults in public, with Liam deriding his brother as a 'potato'.
Last August, they announced that 'the guns have fallen silent' and that they would reform to play a tour in 2025.
Its 41 sold-out shows will see the band appear in Britain, America, Australia and South America. According to analysis by Birmingham City University, it could make Oasis £400 million from ticket sales and merchandise.

EXCLUSIVE Noel Gallagher's secret weapon: How daughter Anais, 25, has a 'subtle yet strategic' influence over her father - and it's helping to win over younger fans

He's known for his controversial opinions and public feuding, but Noel Gallagher 's daughter is priming him for a new generation of fans with different values. 25-year-old Anais Gallagher, based in London, is a breakout Gen Z influencer, leveraging her nepo baby status to become an internet star in her own right, thanks to her humble nature and approachability. Now, Anais is extending her skillset to her Oasis vocalist father, 58, who, despite his musical talents, might require a helping hand when it comes to winning over socially conscious twentysomethings. Media and PR expert Chad Teixeira told Femail how the influencer and model is working behind the scenes to ensure her father's long-term success. He said, 'Anais Gallagher is quietly but effectively helping to modernise her father's public image – and she's doing it in a way that feels both natural and authentic. 'As someone who understands the language, humour and cultural nuances of Gen Z, she's become an unexpected but highly valuable asset to Noel Gallagher as he navigates a new chapter in his career.' The expert pointed to reports that claimed Anais encouraged her father to cut ties with English comedian and actor, Russell Brand, following his rape and sexual assault charges. 'The reported decision to step back from figures like Russell Brand signals a clear awareness of how reputations are shaped in today's culture. It's a reminder that public figures are increasingly judged not just on their own words and actions, but on the company they keep. Noel previously shared a close bond with Brand, who denies the charges, and was best man at his wedding to pop star Katy Perry in 2010. Brand returned the favour one year later, and took up the same role at Noel's wedding to his now ex-wife, Sarah MacDonald. Anais, whose mother is Meg Matthews, is said to have urged her father to remove Brand from his social media accounts because the close friendship 'wasn't a good look' for his image. Noel and the comedian reportedly formed a bond after Noel attended one of his stand-up gigs in 2005. In 2014, during an interview with Vice's music website, Noisey, Mr Gallagher declared: 'I love Russell'. But now Noel, who held a close friendship with Brand for decades, has publicly cut ties with his former friend, a source told The Sun. The source said: 'Anais realised that her dad's close links to Brand and all the stuff they'd done together wasn't a very good look. She's very PR savvy. 'There was a discussion and Noel agreed cutting ties was the best. Anais, Noel and the rest of the family are horrified at Brand's alleged behaviour and had no idea what was going on.' According to Teixeira, Anais further enhances her father's image by sharing down-to-earth posts on her blossoming TikTok account, where she currently has 177,000 followers. He said, 'Her influence is subtle but strategic, whether it's through her growing presence on TikTok or her ability to offer perspective on how certain associations might land with younger audiences.' Anais is quickly growing her fanbase online by sharing insights into her everyday life on TikTok, from recording her trips, gym workouts, and her getting ready to see her father and uncle perform on their reunion tour. @anais_gallagher ♬ Hello - Oasis On TikTok, her clip where she posed with rollers in her hair as she prepared to watch Oasis perform at Cardiff gained over 800,000 views. Her impact on the ongoing tour travels beyond her social media posts, and Anais is also said to have helped piece together the setlist and also gave the band insights into what younger fans might want to hear. Teixeira added, 'What makes Anais's role so effective is that she isn't trying to overhaul her father's identity. 'She respects his legacy while helping him navigate the expectations of a new generation, one that values accountability, authenticity, and social awareness. She's essentially bridging the gap between iconic status and modern relevance. 'For a music legend like Noel Gallagher, this kind of intergenerational dynamic isn't just good optics, it's good PR. 'Anais helps ensure his voice continues to resonate, not just with long-time fans, but with a younger audience discovering him for the first time.' Elsewhere, Anais and her cousin, Gene Gallagher, 24, who is Liam's youngest son, played a major part in reuniting the warring brothers for the tour - 15 years after they last played together. A source said: 'Liam has seen the passion the younger generation have for the Oasis tracks. Some of them weren't even born when the band split. 'It hadn't dawned on Noel and Liam until recently that their own kids had never properly seen them together. They didn't want to wait until it was too late to show them why they are Britain's biggest band.' After 15 years, the brothers have finally reunited for 41 shows across Europe and the 900,000 fans who have eagerly snapped up tickets will not be disappointed with the set list, which is crammed with the nineties band's classics. Opening with Acquiesce - a song from their first 1995 album, they will follow with Morning Glory the titular song of the second studio album with Supersonic playing sixth. Elsewhere, Liam and Noel will play Half the World Away, Slide Away, Live Forever before finishing with their three most popular songs Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. And Anais made sure her father had a good luck hug before he went on stage for his first reunion show in Cardiff last Friday. In a sweet clip shared by a fan to TikTok, Anais was seen running up to her father and giving him a hug while he watched Richard Ashcroft perform before his set. Anais was later pictured throwing her arms in the air as she danced the night away with her close friend Callum Scott Howells, while her mother and Noel's ex-wife Meg Mathews was also in the crowd.

A tragedy marked across emotional weekend

As the funeral for Diogo Jota and Andre Silva took place in Gondomar, on the outskirts of Porto, the tragic deaths of the two brothers continued to be marked around the world throughout the Liverpool, fans added to what has become a shrine of flowers, keepsakes and tributes, one that now covers the full length of Anfield's Main captain Seamus Coleman is said to have visited the tributes after 11 o'clock on Friday night in order to avoid cameras and unwanted attention, around the same time, in Cardiff, Oasis marked their first gig in 16 years by flashing Jota up on the Principality Stadium's big screen as the closing stages of their iconic anthem Live Forever played Florida's Camping World Stadium, Portuguese duo Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo cried tears of sadness during a pre-match tribute to Jota shortly before their Al-Hilal side exited the Club World Sunday night, at the NRG Stadium in Texas, Jota's former Wolves team-mate Raul Jimenez paid tribute to the Liverpool striker with a goal celebration as Mexico overcame the USA to win the Gold emotions and actions shown by those above capture a sadness and disbelief that lingers - and will continue to linger - for some time. Some Liverpool players will return to testing and training this week but will have to deal with the prospect of their much-loved team-mate not being there. in an exclusive interview with BBC Sport, former Wolves defender Conor Coady explained the impact Jota had on both himself and the club prior to his move to Liverpool in 2020."We were gutted we were losing him because he was that good," said Coady."But at the same time, you gave him a big hug and you went: 'You know what mate, you deserve it more than anyone. Go and enjoy yourself. Go and make a name for yourself at one of the biggest clubs because you can certainly do that.' And he has done that for a number of years."People look at football and think it's all about rivalry. But watching him win the Premier League with Liverpool, it filled me with immense pride - to say I played with him and he has gone on to do incredible things."He took it by storm, like he took us by storm. Like he then took the Premier League by storm. Like he then took the Europa League by storm with Wolves."He's then gone and done it with one of the biggest clubs in the land. A remarkable footballer, but an even better team-mate, which is 10 times more important than being a remarkable footballer for me."

Dai, from the Coleman Had a Dream podcast, shared more of his story in a blog post. "I shouted my way through the start of the anthem and the 'gwlads' tipped me over the edge. I was I looked up from his tear stained shoulder, I saw myself wiping tears from my eyes on the screen. My old music teacher even messaged me and my mum told me I'd gone viral. I still don't think she knows what that means, so Christ knows who told her that. Whilst I was the one on the screen, I was far from the only one feeling that way. I'm very grateful that the emotion was captured yesterday. A great memory and memento of the day." Ahead of the game, Welsh and Dutch fans walked together to the stadium, 8,000 joined together, with what the FAW has said was the biggest fan walk in women's Euro history. ‌ In the post match press conference, manager Rhian Wilkinson told journalists the fans had made a huge difference. "Even better," said Wilkinson, when asked whether the support was as good as the players had dreamt of. "I spoke to the players before the game as well, and I said: 'These people have shown up to thank you for getting them there. ‌ "They want to see you give it everything you have and they're right there behind you.' And that's exactly what they did. "From the second I walked out before the players, I got a little bit intimidated, it was quite emotional. Welsh fans in Lucerne in Switzerland (Image: Getty Images ) ‌ "And of course it was for the players as well. So a huge thank you to all the fans here and back home.
