Siddaramaiah rejects BJP's Rahul Gandhi ‘humiliated' Karnataka CM claim: 'My primary work in Delhi was...'
Siddaramaiah took to X late Friday to inform that his primary purpose in Delhi was to discuss Mysuru's Dasara Air Show with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
"My primary work in Delhi was to meet Defence Minister Shri @rajnathsingh to discuss the Air Show during Dasara in Mysuru. Shri @RahulGandhi has immense affection for the people of Karnataka," Siddaramaiah said in a post on X.
'He always remembers how Smt Indira Gandhi and Smt Sonia Gandhi were elected from Karnataka, and how the state has stood by the Congress at every critical juncture,' Siddaramaiah said.
He added, 'The Gandhi Family, including Shri Rahul Gandhi, remain deeply indebted to the love showered by the people of Karnataka, and our AICC President Shri Mallikarjun @kharge is a proud Kannadiga.'
The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of betraying Kannadigas by denying Central funds.
"While Shri Rahul Gandhi remains committed to bringing positive, transformative change in Karnataka, the @BJP4India has betrayed Kannadigas by denying the funds we rightfully deserve. Even when Karnataka suffered devastating floods, the Prime Minister @narendramodi did not utter a word," he said.
He also alleged that the BJP MPs from Karnataka do not have the spine to stand up to PM Modi for the rights of Kannadigas.
"@BJP4KarnatakaMPs do not have the spine to stand up to Narendra Modi for the rights of Kannadigas. For Modi, Karnataka exists only during elections; for Congress, Karnataka's welfare is a daily commitment," he said.
Earlier in a post on X, BJP leader Amit Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of humiliating Siddaramaiah by denying an appointment the latter had sought.
"Humiliation in Delhi for Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah! He travelled all the way to the capital, only to be denied an appointment by Rahul Gandhi--and has now returned without even a meeting," Malviya said in the post.
"This isn't the first time a Gandhi has insulted a senior leader from Karnataka. History remembers how Rajiv Gandhi unceremoniously sacked an ailing Veerendra Patil, triggering the Congress's downfall in the state. Now, a weakened Siddaramaiah is forced to hide behind the very man plotting against him--DK Shivakumar, who is eagerly waiting to take his chair. The Congress, and the Gandhis in particular, have always treated Kannadigas with disdain. This is just the latest example," he added.
Siddaramaiah had dismissed speculation about a change in the state's leadership, asserting that there has been no discussion with the Congress high command about the change.
"How many times do I tell you, it (speculations around Karnataka CM post) was not discussed at all? This issue was not discussed at all with the high command," Siddaramaiah said on Friday.

Micro-industries will be set up in each Assembly constituency for economic empowerment of women: Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka
Reiterating that the Congress government will take up the Babasaheb Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella project, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that micro-industries will be set up in every Assembly segment to promote entrepreneurial spirit and economic empowerment of women. The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting in Luxettipet town of Mancherial district on Sunday. Earlier, he laid the foundation stone for a 1MW solar power plant of Indira Mahila Shakti women SHGs at an estimated cost of ₹3 crore at Andugulapet village in the district. Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu, Health Minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha and Prohibition & Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and others accompanied him. The State government is considering launching a special development plan for Adilabad district, he said, recalling the overwhelming response he received from people of the erstwhile Adilabad district during his People's March padayatra before the 2023 Assembly elections. 'We have focused on allocating solar power projects to women's SHGs, he noted, asserting that the government will work for the economic empowerment of women despite financial challenges,' he said. He criticised the BRS government for abandoning interest-free loans for women, which were introduced by the successive Congress governments in the past. Now, the Congress government has revived the scheme, he added. In pursuit of our goal to make one crore women into crorepatis, we have distributed interest-free loans worth ₹21,600 crore in the form of cheques to women's SHGs in the first year itself, Mr. Vikramarka said. He added that the cheques were being handed over to women SHGs in Mancherial on the occasion as part of the ongoing disbursement of interest-free loans across the State. He noted that the women's groups were provided security and loan support in purchasing buses, which were then leased to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). So far, 150 buses have been leased out to the TGSRTC, and a lease amount of ₹1 crore has been received by the women's groups, he said, adding that the remaining 450 buses will also be leased out to the TGSRTC soon.

Construction of 13,000 ultra-modern stadiums to start soon, says Punjab CM
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday announced that the government will soon commence the construction of 13,000 ultra-modern stadiums across the state, with work on 3,083 already underway in the first phase. Addressing the media here, the Chief Minister said the government is focusing on promoting sports to positively channel the immense energy of the youth. He emphasised the aim is to instil a sporting culture in the state and steer young people away from the scourge of drug addiction. Mann said these stadiums will be instrumental in the promotion of sporting spirit across the state, especially at the village level. The Chief Minister criticised previous governments, stating that successive Congress and Akali-BJP regimes paid no attention to the development of sports infrastructure or youth employment. As a result, he lamented, drugs spread unchecked across the state, and the youth sank deeper into addiction. However, Mann highlighted that the state is now witnessing a transformation, thanks to the ongoing anti-drug campaign, Yudh Nasheyan De Virudh, launched by the government. The Chief Minister said the supply chains of narcotics have been disrupted, and many young people are beginning to overcome addiction. The ultimate objective, he said, is to free Punjab's youth from the grip of drugs and make them a partner in the socio-economic development of the state. Mann praised the Punjab Police for their outstanding work in dismantling drug networks, something that previous governments failed to address seriously. The Chief Minister added that a comprehensive plan is now in place to connect the youth with sports and distance them from addiction. He said the state government has embarked on a historic mission to build modern sports facilities in every village of Punjab. Mann announced that around 13,000 villages will be equipped with high-quality sports grounds, and the first phase of the project has already commenced with 3,083 stadiums under construction.
