Yahoo09-05-2025
Jelly Roll was living the dream on Thursday (May 8) when he performed 'Heart of Stone,' the third single from his sophomore album, Beautifully Broken, at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards held at at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.
'I'm wide awake and I'm dreamin'/ Wonderin' where and when I fell apart/ Oh, I fell apart/ I had enough of my demons/ Angels only meet you where you are,' he sang emotionally, his voice powerful, during the chorus from the track about some very dark days in his life. As he belted out the chorus, Bunnie XO, who is married to the country star, sang along in the audience. 'And I'm in the dark/ Least for now, Lord, I ain't losin' hope/ That somehow you can make a heart of gold/ From this heart of stone.'

As the tune ended, Jelly pointed to the heavens and mouthed, 'Thank you.' The cameras then shifted to Shaboozey, who stood alone as he began his new single, the two men's collaboration 'Amen,' off the 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' singer's Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going. After the chorus, Jelly joined in as he walked through the crowd, giving Wynonna Judd a hug before he made his way onto the stage next to 'Boozey to finish the upbeat tune as Keith Urban and Nicole kidman sang along from the audience.
At the end of the Jelly and Shaboozey's duet, the 'Need a Favor' singer turned to his song partner, who turns 30 on Friday (May 9), and said, 'Happy birthday, 'Boozey!' before giving him a big hug.
Jelly Roll — who is nominated for entertainer of the year, male artist of the year and album of the year for his Billboard 200 chart-topper Beautifully Broken — spoke about 'Heart of Stone' while appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show in April. 'I love the lyrics of this song,' he explained to the host, specifically pointing out the lyrics to the second verse. 'When I hear 'Lord, can you hear me? I'm shackled in these chains/ I'm haunted by the lies of every time I said I'd change.' Wow, that just reminds me of all the times that I went and looked in the mirror and said, 'I'm gonna be different today' and I wasn't different that day. … It still gives me goosebumps and it makes me want to stand up and do something about it. It makes me want to quit being a man that puts it off and start being a man that does it right now.'
Country icon and 16-time ACM Awards winner Reba McEntire is the host of the show; it is her 18th time helming the ceremony. The show streamed live on Amazon's Prime Video.
The ACM Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Billboard parent company Penske Media.

Ozzy Osbourne Owns 90% Of A Billboard Chart

It's not unusual for superstar musicians who have recently passed away to dominate one Billboard ranking or another, as fans react to tragic news by buying or streaming — or in many cases, consuming in both manners — many of an artist's most familiar tracks. Ozzy Osbourne is the latest legend to be honored in such a way, as he invades a number of tallies in the United States, both under his own name and as a member of Black Sabbath. Osbourne's power and popularity are especially prevalent on one sales ranking, where he almost completely dominates. Ozzy Osbourne Occupies 90% of One Chart On this week's Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, Osbourne occupies 90% of the available spots. The tally features just 10 positions, and nine of them are filled by either Osbourne's solo cuts or Black Sabbath tracks. The Top Three Songs at Once Osbourne's three highest-rising hits are solo affairs, with "Mama, I'm Coming Home" returning to No. 1 just weeks after it first led the charge. That classic is followed by "Crazy Train" at No. 2 and "No More Tears," which climbs to No. 3, hitting a never-before-seen peak in its third frame. 'Close My Eyes Forever,' "Dreamer" and "Shot in the Dark" Debut The rocker also scores a trio of brand new smashes on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at the same time. "Close My Eyes Forever" with Lita Ford, "Dreamer," and "Shot in the Dark" all debut this frame. Those tunes close out the ranking as they come in at Nos. 8, 9, and 10, respectively. 'Paranoid' Returns to its All-Time High Sandwiched in between Osbourne's two winning streaks are a pair of Black Sabbath cuts. "Paranoid" returns to its all-time high of No. 5, while "Iron Man" reenters at No. 6, just shy of No. 4, where it previously peaked. Yungblud Breaks Things Up The only track that manages to break up Osbourne's run is "Changes (Live from Villa Park) Back to the Beginning." That cut is fronted by alternative powerhouse Yungblud and also credits Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman and II. The tune debuts at No. 4, and had it been released at any other time, there's a real possibility Osbourne would have become the rare superstar to completely fill a Billboard chart in a single frame.

Eminem Surges With Multiple Classic Hits

Eminem is only a few weeks removed from his last debut on the Billboard charts in America. In July, the rapper joined JID on the track "Animals (Pt. 1)," which quickly became a bestselling hit and landed on a handful of tallies. This week, without releasing any new material, Eminem is back on multiple rankings, but this time, with classics. Some of the tracks that helped turn him into a global powerhouse and one of the most consistent hitmakers in hip-hop history are experiencing something of a resurgence. 'Lose Yourself' Becomes a Bestseller Again Two of Eminem's most iconic compositions return to Billboard's charts this frame, with each reappearing on a separate tally. There's no crossover between them, as the cuts don't show up on the same list, and each one only lands on a single roster. The biggest winner between them is "Lose Yourself," which returns to the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart. As the Oscar- and Grammy-winning cut approaches 500 weeks on that tally, it reenters at No. 15. 'Without Me' Returns to the Global Chart Eminem also claims a worldwide success again this frame, as "Without Me" reappears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The decades-old tune barely makes the list, settling at No. 199 on the 200-spot roster. The ranking reflects the most consumed tracks worldwide, without factoring in streams or sales from American listeners. Curtain Call: The Hits Also Enjoys a Big Week Back in the U.S., Eminem's compilation album Curtain Call: The Hits also grows. The project inches forward on multiple rankings, possibly buoyed by a sales uptick tied to "Lose Yourself," or perhaps its ascent is simply due to the compilation's continued appeal, as it features many of the rapper's most famous singles. Curtain Call returns to the top 10 on the Top Rap Albums chart, lifting to No. 10. It also climbs one spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list, rising to No. 14. The set — one of the longest-charting ever on the Billboard 200 — holds steady at No. 55, and in about a month, it will become one of only a handful of titles to reach 750 frames on the all-encompassing, competitive roster.

Billy Joel's Documentary Pushes Him Back Onto The Charts In A Major Way

Throughout July, HBO unveiled its two-part documentary about Billy Joel, titled Billy Joel: And So It Goes. The first episode was released on July 18, with the second following a week later. Now that the world is once again fixated on the Piano Man, interest in not just his life, but also his music, has soared. An uptick in sales and streams helps the beloved superstar return to the Billboard charts with not one, but two different projects. Billy Joel Fills Two Spots on the Billboard 200 Joel claims a pair of spaces on the Billboard 200 this week, as both Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II and The Stranger reenter the ranking of the most consumed albums in the United States. The singles-packed compilation returns at No. 145, while The Stranger, one of Joel's most successful studio albums, lands at No. 167. Both sets have spent well over a year on the tally and have previously cracked the top 10, though neither has reached No. 1. Billy Joel Reaches a Milestone on Rock & Alternative Chart The singer-songwriter also occupies two spots on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, but in a slightly different manner. The Stranger returns to the list at No. 45, while Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II debuts at No. 37. As the compilation arrives, the hitmaker earns his milestone tenth appearance on the genre-specific ranking. The Stranger Sells More, Despite a Lower Ranking Joel's Greatest Hits compilation shifted 10,400 equivalent units in the latest tracking period, according to Luminate. The Stranger comes in not far behind, with slightly more than 9,600 equivalent copies moved. While the Greatest Hits set appears higher on the Billboard 200, The Stranger is actually the better seller. The lower-ranking effort sold just under 1,900 copies in America last week, as the impact from Joel's docuseries made a mark. Meanwhile, the compilation sold approximately 900 pure units, though it was the top performer on streaming platforms.
