Taylor Russell leaves The Thomas Crown Affair due to creative differences
Los Angeles, Jul 19 (PTI) Canadian actor Taylor Russell, best known for her roles in films such as 'Waves" and 'Escape Room", has exited the upcoming Amazon MGM Studio's film 'The Thomas Crown Affair".
According to the entertainment news outlet Deadline, Russell was cast alongside Michael B Jordan in the film. But she left the project citing creative differences as the reason for her exit. The studio will soon recast for her role.
'The Thomas Crown Affair" is the remake of the 1968 romantic heist thriller. Directed by Norman Jewison, the film featured Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen.
The story revolved around a billionaire art thief who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with an investigator.
The upcoming film is written by Drew Pearce and is produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, alongside Charles Roven through the banner Atlas Entertainment and Patrick McCormick and Toberoff Productions' Marc Toberoff.
Slated to release in theatres on March 5, 2027, the film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk and Aiysha Hart.

The source adds that Levy 'prides himself" on building creative connections, and with Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up for an upcoming comedy. 'It's a safe bet that Jen is going to show up in that project," the source said. Garner recently stepped back into her role as Elektra with a short cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine and sources say she is excited about being part of that creative circle again. According to the insider, she finds the 'energy" around Reynolds and the rest of the team 'different" especially compared to what she experienced with Affleck and Damon. 'As Jen continues to cement her own Hollywood coalition, Ryan is a key player in all that," the source added. Though Garner and Affleck have kept a cordial relationship since their 2018 divorce and co-parent their children, the source notes that her new dynamic with Reynolds has left Affleck feeling uneasy. 'That's not comfortable for him, but he simply doesn't have any choice or say in the matter. He has to accept it!" the insider added. This development follows Affleck's recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez whom he married in 2022 after rekindling their early 2000s romance. Their split was finalised in January this year. As Affleck adjusts, he has reportedly been leaning on Garner for support. In December 2024, In Touch quoted a source saying, 'Ben leans on her for everything. He's got his own place, but he's still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food." The insider also said, 'He goes to her whenever he has a big career or life decision to make for her advice." Games Of Thrones Fame Peter Dinklage Teases The Toxic Avenger's First Glimpse At San Diego Comic-Con
Peter Dinklage and Elijah Wood thrilled fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 with a sneak peek of their superhero movie, The Toxic Avenger, releasing on August 29. Hollywood stars Peter Dinklage and Elijah Wood have made fans super happy. On Thursday, the duo teased an early glimpse of their upcoming superhero movie, The Toxic Avenger, in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The four-day event will conclude on July 27. The Toxic Avenger, directed by Macon Blair, was announced back in 2023 with its trailer premiering in September of the same year. The film was, however, stalled after the makers failed to secure a distributor. The much-awaited superhero reboot is finally coming to the US theatres on August 29. The Toxic Avenger revolves around an ordinary janitor, Winston Gooze, played by Peter Dinklage, who transforms into a mutant vigilante after an accident at a chemical factory. The newfound superpowers help Winston fight against the slimy criminals and a corrupted CEO. Apart from Peter and Elijah Wood, the movie also stars Jacob Tremblay and Taylour Paige in crucial roles. Peter Dinklage revealed that slipping into the shoes of the 'mop-wielding superhero" Toxie in the film was 'an easy yes" for him, reported People magazine. The Game of Thrones actor credited this to the filmmaker and fellow Comic-Con panelist Lloyd Kaufman, who made the original Toxic Avenger film in 1984. Peter Dinklage On The Toxic Avenger Subtly hinting at the theme of The Toxic Avenger, Peter Dinklage said, 'Environmental concerns are an ongoing thing, now more than ever. The great way to get into that is through satire, through the backdoor, through humor. This just felt so perfect and necessary and needed." The actor further admitted that he was a 'huge fan" of director Macon Blair. Peter Dinklage heaped praise on his body-double, Luisa Guerreiro, for doing a fantastic job. 'Over 70% of my performance is not me. Guerreiro studied all my movements like a hawk and did a better me than I did." Elijah Wood, who essays the character of an antagonist, Fritz in The Toxic Avenger, said, 'There's a beating heart in there. I love the horror genre because of the possibilities. This movie is filled to the brim with ideas, and fun and playing with the medium."
