Huma Qureshi on doing Rajkummar Rao's Maalik song for free: Can't charge friends
Actor Huma Qureshi has impressed fans with her sizzling performance in the recently released track 'Dil Thaam Ke' from Rajkummar Rao's upcoming film 'Maalik'. However, what's grabbed even more attention is her decision to do the song free of charge. The moment producer Jayu (Jay Shewakramani) played it for me, I absolutely fell in love. 'Honestly, it felt like a bunch of friends coming together, it was a no-brainer,' she added.
Huma also confirmed reports that she didn't charge a fee for the track. 'Doston se kaise paise le sakte hai (How can one borrow money from friends?) Huma recalled one particularly demanding day on set that stretched into a 16-hour schedule.She recalled, 'There was no fixed plan, it just happened. I remember on the second day, there was a complicated shot the choreographer had designed, with a lot of camera movement and many junior dancers involved. It took time to get everything right. Everyone was trying their best. It was a technical thing, it was no one's fault."'I don't believe in walking away, saying my shift is over. My conditioning is such that if I'm at work, I'll finish my job and then leave. So yes, it went on for 16 hours, but it wasn't planned. 'I worked closely with Vijay (Ganguly) Sir's team. They're amazing. They helped me with every adaa, every nakhra, every step. We explored different choreographies and styles to find what would look best for me and complement the other dancers, while still keeping that scale, nuances, and flair.'advertisementReflecting on the shoot experience, Huma shared, 'I really enjoyed performing it. The vibe on set was incredible - it was all about having fun and giving it our best.'When asked about collaborating with choreographer Vijay Ganguly, she said, 'With Vijay, I already knew from his past work that he has a great ear for music and a fantastic visual sense.
