T.N. Chief Minister set to launch Ungaludan Stalin programme in Chidambaram on July 15
In a social media post, Mr. Stalin said: 'An revolutionary programme will commence tomorrow! Instead of you going to government offices, Ungaludan Stalin will bring the applications to your homes and get the issues resolved.' He said a total of 10,000 camps would be organised as part of the programme.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Chennai, Revenue Secretary P. Amudha said 43 services from 13 departments would be offered in urban areas and 46 from 15 departments would be offered in rural areas under the programme. About 1 lakh volunteers will be involved in the programme, which will go on till November this year, she added.
Referring to other initiatives, Ms. Amudha said that since the Mudhalvarin Mugavari programme was launched in 2021, over 1.05 crore petitions had been received, and of these, 1.01 crore had been disposed off, as of June 30 this year. Under the Makkaludan Mudhalvar programme, launched in 2023, 9.05 lakh pleas were received in urban areas and 12.81 lakh were received in rural areas. Issues raised in about 95% of the petitions had been resolved, she said.
In the third phase of the Mudhalvarin Mugavari programme, which was launched in January and went on till June this year, about 1.80 lakh pleas were received. Of these, about 47,000 have been resolved, she said.
Ungaludan Stalin aims to benefit those who are not in town or are unavailable or unaware of these camps, Ms. Amudha said. Of the 10,000 camps, over 3,000 camps will be organised in urban areas and over 6,000 in rural areas, she said. The Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure basic amenities to those who visit these camps, she said. A portal, which will be launched on July 15, will display the schedule of these camps.
