Year 2026 will see Dravidian model 2.0 regime, says Tamil Nadus ruling DMK
The DMK's official organ 'Murasoli,' in a write-up referred to claims and counter-claims and speculations in the media in respect of the Assembly election due by March-April next year. While this was the scenario in the media, the reality is that Chief Minister Stalin follows a people-centric approach, the daily said and referred to a five-fold approach.
Under the 'Oraniyil Tamil Nadu campaign,' the welfare schemes of the government are explained to the people and those desirous are being enrolled as DMK members.
As regards the 'Ungaludan Stalin' outreach programme, the Dravidian party daily said the scheme is aimed at taking government services to the people and redress grievances by organising special camps in their neighbourhoods.
Thirdly, the CM himself is touring districts, interacting with the people, including farmers and voluntary groups, and he receives representations from them and directs authorities to address them. Also, he is in touch with people by way of measures such as roadshows as well.
Stalin meets at party headquarters, party functionaries and cadres with the slogan of 'Udanpirappe va" and guides them. Deputy CM and DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin visits districts, holds review meetings with top officials, speeds up work and ensures progress in works as per the chief minister's directives.
Also, Udhayanidhi interacts with party office-bearers and meets people and ensures implementation of welfare schemes.
On the whole, due to such measures, every family is witnessing peace and they grow in terms of per capita income as well and this is the ground situation in Tamil Nadu. People have immense faith in Chief Minister Stalin and the DMK and notwithstanding claims, counterclaims and political speculations in the media, it will be the 'Dravidian model 2.0 regime" following a big win in the 2026 Assembly election, the ruling DMK said adding the Dravidian model 2.0 regime will be helmed by Stalin.

Stalin urges PM Modi to release Rs 2,149 crore pending under Samagra Shiksha funds
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin submitted a petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the immediate release of over Rs 2,000 crore in pending educational funds and the implementation of long-pending railway projects across the state. The appeal was made through State Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu during the Prime Minister's two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, where he inaugurated various development projects and unveiled a commemorative coin honouring Rajendra his letter, the Chief Minister said that the Tamil Nadu government has been effectively implementing the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme since 2018, which has led to consistent improvements in educational outcomes. However, he noted that the Union Government had made the full adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 a precondition for the release of central funds. He reiterated that the state has legal and policy-based objections to certain provisions of the NEP, especially the imposition of the three language policy and the restructuring of school education to the 5+3+3+4 format.'The Tamil Nadu School Education System currently accommodates 43.90 lakh students, 2.2 lakh teachers and more than 32,000 supporting staff. Withholding funds for such a critical and large-scale scheme severely affects the future of lakhs of students,' Stalin said. He urged the Prime Minister to immediately release Rs 2,149 crore due to the state under the scheme for the financial year 2024–25, expedite the first instalment for 2025–26, and ensure that funding is not linked to signing the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) Memorandum of Understanding. In addition, Tamil Nadu's School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi met Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Monday and submitted a memorandum seeking the urgent release of funds. The state is yet to receive the central share of Samagra Shiksha funds for the financial year 2024–25, as well as the first instalment for 2025– the education appeal, Stalin pressed for the implementation of multiple railway projects that have remained pending despite being sanctioned more than a decade ago. These include the Tindivanam–Gingee–Tiruvannamalai (70 km), Erode–Palani (91 km), Madurai–Thoothukudi via Aruppukottai (60 km), Athipattu–Puthur (88 km), and Chennai–Cuddalore via Mahabalipuram (180 km) also requested the fast-tracking of the Thiruvananthapuram–Kanyakumari double track (87 km), approval for the Tirupattur–Krishnagiri–Hosur line, and surveys or Detailed Project Report (DPR) approvals for several proposed routes including Coimbatore–Palladam–Karur, Coimbatore–Gopichettipalayam–Bhavani–Salem, Madurai–Melur–Thuvarankurichi–Viralimalai–Inamkulathur, and a suburban ring railway around on X, Stalin stated: 'We have submitted a petition to the Honourable Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing funding for the education of Tamil Nadu students, railway projects for the transportation of poor and middle-class people, the livelihood of fishermen, and the Salem Defence Industrial Park.'I trust that the Prime Minister will provide appropriate solutions, valuing the sentiments of the people and the development of the state,' he added. - Ends IN THIS STORY#Tamil Nadu

Rijiju slams Opposition after its demand on SIR holds up Op Sindoor debate in LS
Agency: New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) The Opposition's demand on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar held up the scheduled discussion on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha for a couple of hours on Monday, prompting the government to accuse it of betrayal after initially agreeing to the debate. The Congress, however, said all they wanted was '30 seconds" to speak on the SIR, adding that it is difficult for opposition leaders to get even a few moments to raise an important issue. The 'Special discussion on India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to terrorist attack in Pahalgam' finally began at 2 pm instead of the noon after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told the House that the government is open to discussion on any issue subject to rules and the Chair's permission. He, however, made no direct mention of the SIR and said members of the ruling alliance and the Opposition have given notices on many issues. The Lok Sabha's Business Advisory Committee, which includes leaders from different parties and is chaired by Speaker Om Birla, will take a final decision, Rijiju added. Opposition members began raising the SIR issue as soon as the House met and then again protested after it reconvened at noon for the discussion on Operation Sindoor, forcing another adjournment. Rijiju told reporters following the adjournment that a few minutes before the discussion was to start, the Opposition wanted the government to give an assurance that it would allow a debate on the SIR in Bihar after the discussion on Operation Sindoor is over. The Opposition, he said, is running away from a discussion on Operation Sindoor after an initial agreement and is now putting preconditions. Rijiju said Parliament runs in accordance with rules and accused the Opposition of going back on its commitment and of betrayal . 'The Opposition is looking at ways to run away from the debate on Operation Sindoor," he claimed. Opposition members, however, rejected the charge. Congress MP K C Venugopal told reporters that the SIR is one of the most important issues related to democracy as every citizen is 'worried" if he can lose his voting rights on some ground. 'There should be discussion on the SIR also. We wanted permission to speak for 30 seconds and then government can share its view. It is difficult for the Opposition to get mic even for 30 seconds," he told reporters, insisting that it was due to the Opposition's demand that a debate on Operation Sindoor is taking place. RSP MP N K Premachandran, an opposition member, said all they wanted was an assurance from the government that it will consider their demand for discussion on the SIR.
