Miley Cyrusis embarking on her most ambitious artistic endeavor yet with the upcoming release ofSomething Beautiful, a ninth studio album that's also a full-length visual film. Viewers see Miley cloaked in a black veil, walking through a film studio, and performing on a backlot stage in a striking green bikini top and feathered chaps. These dynamic scenes are intercut with snippets of new music, including the track 'Easy Lover,' and text proclaiming '13 original songs,' promising a rich auditory and visual experience.
Inspired by Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' and the film 'Mandy,' 'Something Beautiful' delves into themes of healing, transformation, and finding beauty even in destruction and heartbreak. The album artwork, captured by Glen Luchford, features Cyrus in an archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture piece, signalling the project's bold aesthetic and high-fashion influence. The album is set for release on May 30, 2025, via Columbia Records. The accompanying 55-minute visual film will have its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival on June 6, followed by a limited theatrical release in the US and Canada on June 12, and then globally on June 27.

The release of the track also comes accompanied by a Julian Klincewicz-directed visual, which pairs rapid-fire images with grainy footage of Parker both performing the track and in various locations. Parker first previewed 'End of Summer' during a surprise DJ set in Barcelona's Nitsa Club in early June. 'You guys want to hear a new song? 'You want to hear a new Tame Impala song?' he asked the crowd. 'You're going to be the first ones to hear it, you realize? There's no going back from this point on, you realize?' Earlier in July, Parker also shared a series of photos to Instagram in which he teased a forthcoming album. Soon after, an untitled 12″ vinyl record was added to the Tame Impala web store which promptly sold out. Though press materials don't describe 'End of Summer' as a preview of Tame Impala's fifth album, Parker's recent Instagram post features a whiteboard filled with album tracks, including one which appears to be 'End of Summer.' In the time since 2020's The Slow Rush, Parker has been busy with myriad other projects. In 2023, second album Lonerism would receive a tenth anniversary reissue, and would be followed by the release of the track 'Journey to the Real World' for the Barbie soundtrack. Additionally, Tame Impala would also be credited with remixes of songs from Crowded House and Elvis Presley, and would appear as a guest artist on cuts from Diana Ross and Gorillaz. In 2024, Parker would serve as a producer and guest musician for Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism album, and would also serve as a guest artist on two tracks from French outfit Justice's Hyperdrama album. One of those collaborations, 'Neverender,' would see Parker win his first Grammy for best dance/electronic recording in 2025. Most recently, Justice also announced a series of Australian tour dates for December 2025, with a Tame Impala DJ set listed as the main support alongside Busy P. Nick and Joe Jonas say they were asked uncomfortable questions as teenagers about their purity rings
Nick and Joe Jonas are opening up about some very uncomfortable and invasive questions they got at a young age as a result of their decision to wear purity rings. "Famously we were known for like purity rings, which were something in the community of a church where that was like what everybody else in our age were doing around 10, 11 years old, like, we're going to wait for the right person," Joe explained on Penn Badgley's Podcrushed. Joe, who was joined by fellow Jonas Brothers Nick and Kevin for the interview, added that "one person on an interview when you're 15, 16 would ask you about it, and you're like, 'I don't want to talk about this,' and then they're like, 'Well, I'm going to write that you guys are in a cult.'" At this point, Badgley pointed out the grossness of asking "a 10-year-old" about anything intimate in the first place. Nick clarified that he wasn't 10, but noted that the industry has come "far" in "just the conversation and dialogue" since that time. "I think it's really a good thing," he said, explaining, "Where it would be like so outside of the realm of possibilities or something someone would do to ask at that time a 14-year-old about their sex life." Joe jumped in, claiming that "it was every interview" that these topics would come up in, but Nick was quick to point out that it wasn't just happening to them, but it was a larger problem in the industry as whole for young stars. The brothers said they also felt pressure to live their lives a certain way as a result of things they said in these interviews, which would also sometimes question their religion. "Whether it was sex, or it was even religion or Christianity, [they'd be] questioning things like questioning if I believe in God, what is God? Is there even a God? And it's on the record. And you're like, uh... and so you felt the pressure," Joe said, adding, "I can definitely speak for all three of us here. [We] felt the pressure of being like, well, we have to live these lives because we kind of said it in a paper once. And it's in print, so you got to do it forever." When the Jonas Brothers first signed with Columbia Records in 2005, Kevin was 17, Joe was 15, and Nick was 12, and the musicians and actors had a whirlwind rise to stardom ever since. Though the aforementioned media scrutiny wasn't easy, the brothers eventually learned to make peace with it all. "Obviously, it would be scary and freak us out, until we got to a point where it's like, f--- this," Joe concluded. "And probably at the time we were like, 'frick this.'
