Delhi school bomb threats: Three schools get threatening emails, nothing found yet in searches, say police
The PTI report added that police recieved calls regarding the bomb threats at around 8 am, from CRPF Schools in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka Sector 16, as well as another school in Chanakyapuri, prompting emergency services to be kicked in, a Delhi Police official said.
'Police teams immediately moved in to check the school premises,' he said.
'Early on Monday morning, Dwarka North police station received a PCR call informing about bomb threat at CRPF School here. The area was promptly sanitised. Local police, sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads reached the school and conducted due checks,' Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh told PTI.
He added that cyber police experts are ascertaining the source of the email.
'Security has been tightened in the school. Nothing suspicious has been found so far,' the DCP added.
The ANI report added that no explosives have been found so far in the combing operation and police are investigating the threats. 'There are anti-Tamil Nadu government messages in the email sent to Chanakyapuri School,' police told ANI.
More details are awaited.
Notably, on July 8, the Hyderabad City Civil Court received a bomb threat in the early morning hours. Bomb squad and other officials conducted thorough search of the court premises.
"Hyderabad city civil court received a bomb threat mail in the early morning hours at 3:15 am. The officials saw it at 11 am and informed us. The bomb squad and other officials are conducting a thorough search of the court premises. So far, nothing has been found. We will provide further details later," says the Inspector of Mirchowk police station.

Bank fraud: Min orders high-level probe into role of senior cop ‘cleared earlier'
Mumbai: Junior home minister Yogesh Kadam on Monday said an inquiry by either a DCP-level officer or a senior official from Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), if necessary, will be ordered into allegations of bribery made by legislators against a senior police officer in a case involving misappropriation of Rs 1.8 crore from North Kanara Gaud Saraswat Cooperative Bank. MLC Prasad Lad brought the matter to the attention of the legislative council through a calling attention motion. The council's deputy chairperson, Neelam Gorhe, ordered the cooperation department to also conduct a thorough probe into bank officials' roles. "It was revealed that a large-scale misappropriation of funds took place through diversion of crores of rupees from the frozen account of UB Engineering Company into various other accounts. An official complaint has been filed with the economic offences wing against the bank's chairman, vice-chairman, board of directors and other officials. Following the complaint, the chairman and the vice-chairman reportedly bribed a senior police inspector to prevent any action against them," Lad said. Dalvi was unavailable for comment. Kadam said an inquiry was earlier conducted against the officer, which found no evidence linking him to monetary gains in the fraud. "In fact, the fraud was by bank officials who have been penalised by RBI and have already paid Rs 50 lakh as fine. In the case of the police officer, we came to know that he had taken two bank loans and was negligent in the investigation, for which an inquiry was conducted. But we couldn't find any proof of him being involved in corruption," he said. But after repeated demands from MLCs, Kadam announced that a high-level inquiry would be ordered to ascertain if Dalvi or any other police officer was involved in the case. Gorhe said that the bank officials' role should also be probed by the state cooperation department. Kadam said a forensic audit of the bank has been conducted, adding that if any bank official is found guilty, s/he will face stringent punishment.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Monday (July 14, 2025) he will campaign for mayor of New York City as an independent candidate, staying in a crowded field running against surging left-wing Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani. In a video, Mr. Cuomo, who last month suffered a bruising loss to Mamdani in the Democratic primary, announced he was making another run to combat the progressive Mr. Mamdani, who he said 'offers slick slogans but no real solutions.' 'The fight to save our city isn't over,' Mr. Cuomo said. 'Only 13 percent of New Yorkers voted in the June primary. The general election is in November and I am in it to win it.' Jaishankar holds talks with Chinese counterpart, speaks of need for far-seeing approach to bilateral ties
Beijing [China], July 15 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held detailed talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing and spoke about the need for a far-seeing approach to bilateral ties. In a post on X, Jaishankar said expressed confidence that ties can develop along a positive trajectory on the foundation of mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity. 'Held detailed talks with Politburo Member and FM Wang Yi in Beijing this evening. Spoke about the need for a far-seeing approach to bilateral ties and building a stable & constructive relationship. Incumbent on us to address aspects related to the border, normalizing people-to-people exchanges and avoiding restrictive trade measures & roadblocks,' he said. 'Confident that on the foundation of mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity, ties can develop along a positive trajectory. Look forward to attending the SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting in Tianjin tomorrow. India is committed to ensuring good outcomes and decisions,' he added. In his opening remarks during meeting with Wang Yi, Jaishankar noted that India and China have made good progress in the past nine months for the normalization of bilateral relations due to resolution of friction along the border in eastern Ladakh. He said it is now incumbent on the two sides to address other aspects related to the border, including de-escalation. He also called for avoiding restrictive trade measures and roadblocks are avoided. Jaishankar, who is in China to attend SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting, said that stable and constructive ties between India and China are not only for mutual benefit, but that of the world as well. 'Our bilateral relationship requires that we take a far-seeing approach to our ties. Since our leaders' meeting in Kazan in October 2024, the India-China relationship has been gradually moving in a positive direction. Our responsibility is to maintain that momentum,' he said. 'In recent times, the two of us have had several opportunities to meet at international events and carry out strategic communication. It is our expectation that this will now be regular and take place in each other's countries,' he added. Jaishankar said that this year marks the 75th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China. 'We appreciate that the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra has also resumed after a gap of five years. I thank the Chinese side for their cooperation on this matter,' he said. 'We have made good progress in the past nine months for the normalization of our bilateral relations. It is a result of the resolution of friction along the border and our ability to maintain peace and tranquility there. This is the fundamental basis for mutual strategic trust and for smooth development of bilateral relations. It is now incumbent on us to address other aspects related to the border, including de-escalation,' he added. India and China reached agreement on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control in India-China border areas in Depsang and Demchok on 21 October 2024, leading to disengagement from all the friction points of 2020. Jaishankar said that there are various facets and dimensions of bilateral ties. 'Measures towards normalizing our people - to - people exchanges can certainly foster mutually beneficial cooperation. It is also essential in this context that restrictive trade measures and roadblocks are avoided. I hope to discuss these issues in further detail,' he said. The minister called for handling bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, mutual interest and sensitivity. 'Stable and constructive ties between India and China are not only to our benefit, but that of the world as well. This is best done by handling relations on the basis of mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity. We have also earlier agreed that differences should not become disputes, nor should competition ever become conflict. On this foundation, we can now continue to develop our ties along a positive trajectory,' he said. He hoped that zero tolerance for terrorism will be strongly upheld at the SCO Foreign Ministers' meeting. 'Our meeting today will also include an exchange of views on global and regional issues. Tomorrow, we will be meeting in the format of the SCO, whose primary mandate is to combat terrorism, separatism and extremism. This is a shared concern and India hopes that zero tolerance for terrorism will be strongly upheld,' he said. 'As Foreign Minister, you have been long responsible for our overall bilateral relations. I am happy to have this in-depth discussion on the state of our ties in an era of profound change. I look forward to a constructive and forward-looking exchange of views,' he added.
