The Top 10 TV Friend Groups We Want To Be In

Buzz Feed15 hours ago
Some friend groups exist only on screen, but their impact? Very real. Here's my very biased and emotionally driven ranking of the best fictional friend groups to ever grace our screens — and yes, I still daydream about being invited out with them.
1. The Sex and the City Girls (Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha)
Four women. One city. Endless cosmos and complicated dating lives. They were messy, iconic, loyal, and stylish. They talked about love like it was a language, and friendship like it was their life source. If you say you don't want to be the mysterious fifth friend who occasionally shows up, drops one-liners, and gets a little bit of too honest sex advice, you're lying.
2. The New Girl Loft Crew
They're chaotic. They're dysfunctional. They make up drinking games and still act like college students well into adulthood. That's my idea of perfection.
3. The Sex Education Squad (Otis, Eric, Maeve, and Co.)
They talked through every weird high school moment and did activism. Talk about getting yourself a group that can do both! Also, Eric deserves his own spinoff.
4. The Plastics — but only if you're Cady Heron by the end of the movie
Let's be real: We all kind of wanted the Burn Book experience just a little. You'd learn the hard way, but you'd come out stronger and even better dressed. That is a win in my (Burn) book.
5. The Friends Friends
Yes, they were always at that coffee shop. Yes, the show hasn't aged perfectly. But yes, we all still low-key want to be invited to Thanksgiving at Monica's. Found family vibes, but with way too many love triangles. Can't guys and girls be just friends?
6. The iCarly Crew
They basically invented the content creator lifestyle before it was cool (like, it's giving original Vlog Squad). They had a web show, chaotic energy, and deep ride-or-die ties. Spencer was an honorary member, obviously.
7. The High School Musical Gang (Wildcats forever)
They broke into song and dance during lunch. And no one questioned it. That's support. I would harmonize in the hallway if it meant being accepted. Not to mention, no friend group at my high school was ever that good-looking, just saying.
8. The One Tree Hill Crew
They were always falling in love, falling apart, and falling into emotional monologues at the River Court, but through it all, they showed up for each other. Whether you were Team Peyton, Team Brooke, or Team "Lucas just needs to journal," you know this friend group defined this era of television, down to the iconic theme song.
9. The Euphoria Girls — as long as you have insurance...
Toxic? Yes. Entertaining? Also yes. You'll cry, fight, and maybe lose a shoe in the process, but you'll look great and have a better time doing it.
10. The Gossip Girl Inner Circle (Blair, Serena, Nate, Chuck, and Dan…kinda)
Was it toxic? Absolutely. But did it look good? Every single time. This was friendship with trust funds, betrayal, brunch, and drama. No one trusted each other, but they needed each other. Besides, what else can make a friend group tighter than one common enemy? XOXO, forever.
Would you want to be in any of these friend groups? Let me know in the comments!

Rihanna Shares Pic of Sons RZA and Riot Being ‘So Over Her' on Family Road Trip

THE RUNDOWN On Thursday, Rihanna shared rare photos of her two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, from a recent road trip. The two boys are seated in the back of a car in their car seats, the older brother with his head buried in a French children's book, the youngest wearing white-and-yellow overalls and a white T-shirt with a white pacifier in his mouth. In the last picture, he pulls down the hood of his car seat to hide his face from his mother. In the caption, the Fenty Beauty founder hilariously wrote, 'they so over me on this lil road trip.' Last Friday, Rihanna supported her partner, A$AP Rocky, at his AWGE fashion show during Paris Men's Fashion Week and she was joined by Riot Rose in the front row. It's unclear from the Instagram pics if the family is still road tripping in France, but they have definitely been traveling. Earlier that same day, the couple were seen at the Dior menswear collection show. Rihanna wore an embroidered cape-style coat over a mint green vest and button-down, while the rapper wore a brightly striped Dior tie. After the Fashion Week events, the couple headed to Belgium, where they attended the premiere of The Smurfs. Rihanna is voicing the character of Smurfette, and she wore a custom Chanel ensemble in baby blue on the red carpet. The two-piece look featured a long skirt decorated with beading and feathers along the hem and a top with a sheer piece of fabric revealing the singer's torso. Rocky and Rihanna are expecting their third child, which they confirmed at the Met Gala in May. Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight at the time, 'I'm good. I'm shockingly feeling OK and not too overwhelmed at the moment. I mean, at first it was kinda like, 'Ah!' And I'm tired, but then I'm excited.'

Sarah Jessica Parker Responds to ‘And Just like That...' Cheating Plotline

And Just Like That... season 3 just did something so wild that I am literally struggling to cope. In last night's episode, Aidan visits Carrie in New York, and after a very frustrating back and forth about a window, he reveals that he's actually freaking out because he slept with his ex-wife Kathy. It happened in a moment of tension in their family, and they were comforting each other. It's a huge revelation, and is even more ironic considering Carrie's cheating is the reason why Aidan broke up with her during the original series. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Sarah Jessica Parker responded to the choice to have Aidan sleep with his ex-wife, saying that she kind of, sort of understands how this happened. Does she think it was cheating? Here's what she said. "I think if you share a child and that child is in trouble, and you both have distracting amounts of concern and worry, that reaching out for comfort, which might be almost a habit in their marriage, I wouldn't find it overly taxing to understand that and not be outraged by it," she said. A very diplomatic answer! It's all part of the confusion in Carrie and Aidan's relationship this season. Are they together? Are they not? Even they don't seem to know. While Aidan is deeply apologetic about sleeping with Kathy, Carrie seems less upset about it. She wasn't planning on literally waiting for him for five years, even though it seems like that's what he expected. SJP said the lack of clarity is where they went wrong. "This probably happens with people who are really familiar, who are intimately involved and are doing their level best to be decent to one another," she said. "They needed to deconstruct it further. And I think they were both trying to be so good to each other that they didn't pursue what the definition really was. And I think it was because they were trying to honor this idea. If either party had pushed for more meaningful definition, the end result might have been that they wouldn't have agreed to it." Yeah, it feels like there were some big missteps here. It'll be very interesting to see how this shakes out the rest of the season.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Denied Release on Bail After Mogul Was Acquitted of Most Serious Charges

On Wednesday, the New York judge overseeing Sean 'Diddy' Combs' federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial ruled that Combs would not be released on bail while awaiting sentencing after he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The decision to keep the fallen hip-hop mogul locked up in a Brooklyn federal prison comes after a surprise split verdict announced Wednesday that saw the rapper and mogul convicted of the lesser two of five charges in a federal indictment that brought one of the most sensational trials in years to a lower Manhattan courthouse. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Mozart Mozart': New Series Puts Composer's Forgotten Sister Center Stage (Exclusive Trailer) Foo Fighters Are Back With First Song Since 2023 to Celebrate 30th Anniversary What the Hell Happened With the Sean "Diddy" Combs Verdict? After the verdict was read Wednesday, Combs' lead defense attorney told the court Combs should be freed today, given that he was no longer under indictment for the major crimes the government said he committed. Prosecutors cried foul on this, arguing he was a flight risk and meddler, even while in the Brooklyn lockup he's called home for about a year. Both sides were instructed to write letters to the judge making their case for bail by 1 p.m. ET today. Prosecutors also stated that they would pursue an aggressive sentencing that could put Combs away for two decades. Judge Subramanian cited Combs' history of violence as a main reason for denying him bail. As prosecutors undoubtedly showed during his trial, he has a decades-long propensity for violence, particularly toward women, which takes place in private. The video footage of Combs beating Cassie Ventura, which was shown at least a dozen times in court, certainly displays this, and Combs subjected his girlfriend 'Jane' to a violent attack as recently as 2024, the court heard over the past few weeks. When this occurred, Combs had already been indicted and had his homes raided by authorities. All sides in the case were told by the judge to return to court on Oct. 3 for sentencing; that date could move up if the defense team and Combs seek to expedite his sentencing process. The defense is seeking a term of 21 to 27 months for Combs while the feds hope for 51 to 63 months. Combs will get credit for the time served.
