Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel have married, but one bandmate was nowhere to be seen on their big day. The pair looked over the moon as they posed outside Hackney Town Hall on Saturday.
Brat queen Charli looked sensational in a white mini-dress, with a heart-shaped neckline, as she held onto her bouquet of flowers while posing for pictures. Their wedding comes just days after George returned to the UK, having been in Ibiza with his bandmates, including Matty Healy, for his stag do.
Amidst reports that the couple would be splashing the cash and inviting dozens of famous faces, the Mirror can reveal that Charli and George tied the knot in front of just 20 of their closest friends and family. Shunning the huge showbiz aspect of their lives, the newly married couple even walked to Hackney Town Hall.
While George's bandmates, Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann, were in attendance, lead singer Matty Healy didn't attend the ceremony. Which may have come as a shock to fans as they have spent over two decades writing, recording, and touring together, cementing a friendship.
It turns out Matty was in LA for the screening of I Know What You Did Last Summer, in which his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel stars in. On Friday evening, the singer was spotted arriving at the venue dressed in a leather jacket over a white top with a red lightning bolt, paired with blue jeans.
Matty, who has been linked to Gabbriette since September 2023, appeared in good spirits as he left his vehicle and headed into the event. Despite his absence at the wedding Matty reportedly attended his pal's stag do earlier this week which took place in Ibiza, reports MailOnline.
Fans have been left gushing over the newlyweds, with one writing: "She looks so good." A second penned: "OMG, shut up she looks beautiful." "Congratulations, Charli and George," said a third. Meanwhile, a fourth exclaimed: "Pop royalty just got their crown. Congrats to Charli and George!"
Other fans speculated on why Matty wasn't at the couple's big day in London. "i hateeeee speculating but I wonder what George thought when Matty said he couldn't make it to his wedding lmao if it was my best mate I'd have probably never spoken to him anymore but that's just me," one penned on Twitter (X).
Another argued: "Apparently that was just the 'official' wedding and they're having more of a party wedding soon because there were LOADSSSS of people who weren't there."

"It was literally so embarrassing, just being s*** shamed in front of everybody" A woman claimed she was "dress coded" and "sl** shamed" by a flight attendant for what she was wearing on a plane. Singer Jacy boarded a Southwest Airlines flight in 2022 wearing a corset top. Due to the hot weather, with the temperature around 39C at the time, Jacy and many of her fellow flyers were wearing light clothing. But she was left on the brink of tears after the confrontation. She alleges that the cabin crew member approached her in front of other passengers and asked her to cover herself up. Not only was she hurt by the comment, Jacy felt she was "more clothed than half the plane". In a TikTok recorded after the incident, she said that the majority of travellers were wearing shorts and tank tops due to the heat, so she didn't understand why she was picked out - or her outfit deemed inappropriate. Another passenger, an actor called Melinna Bobadilla, stood up for Jacy - and claims she was thrown off the flight for doing so, The Mirror reports. Both women turned to social media in the aftermath of the 'dress coding' incident to tell their stories. Jacy, who goes by the TikTok username @maybejacy, said she was approached before getting on the plane. She said that the flight attendant tapped her on the shoulder and asked whether she had a jacket or another item of clothing she could use to put over the corset top. Jacy refused and the Southwest Airlines employee said she would get a T-shirt for the flyer to wear over her clothes. Jacy said she wouldn't wear it and boarded the plane as planned. Posting about the incident, she said: "I was literally going to cry. I was about to cry. It was literally so embarrassing, just being s*** shamed in front of everybody. If it wasn't for this lady [Melinna], my angel, I love her." Her TikTok video has accrued more than 620,000 likes since being posted. In it, Jacy is sitting in her seat holding up the T-shirt in question. She wrote: 'Bro I got dress coded on a flight? Are we in high school? Are you upset about my shoulders? It's 102F? My torso is fully clothed. And it caused a scene because some sweet lady stuck up for me and then got kicked off the flight." She captioned the video: "Give me my money back... or send me a bottle of expensive champagne." Melinna has since come forward on X, formerly Twitter, to tell her side of the story. She alleged that the flight attendant "became defensive when I asked about what rules the young woman was breaking." According to Melinna: "She responded with 'She is wearing a corset and this is a family company. Some people find it offensive.' I then told the employee that I felt threatened and offended by the man directly behind me wearing a 'Let's Go Brandon' shirt, and she did not care." She added: "Basically, Southwest Airlines s*** shamed a young woman of colour for wearing a tank top they deemed offensive, forced her to wear a company-issued sweater, removed me for questioning their misogynistic policy, exercised a double standard when enforcing an alleged offensive attire rule "The raggedy folks at Southwest Airlines in Sacramento disrespected two women of colour, endangered one by needlessly calling the cops, and went out of their way to protect a conservative white man. Yup, that tracks. Southwest Airlines is steamy, stale trash. Go out of business already." Southwest Airlines replied to Melinna's thread, which has been widely retweeted, advising her to message them directly with any further details about her experience. However, Melinna replied: "I don't have faith that this can be rectified via DMs Brenna, unless you are authorised to issue an official apology, reimburse me for all costs incurred related to booking new travel, and issue a check for damages and emotional distress." Melinna went on to claim she had called up the airline, only to be placed on hold for more than an hour on two separate calls, meaning she was unable to resolve the matter. A woman has gone viral online after taking home Charli XCX's wedding cake – despite not being invited to the ceremony. The 'Brat' singer tied the knot with 1975 drummer George Daniels in Hackney, London on July 19, in a ceremony that has been praised by fans as lowkey. Charli XCX was seen wearing a short Vivienne Westwood gown and enjoying a late-night after party. However, a TikToker has taken the 'lowkey' aspect perhaps a step too far, after showing off Charli XCX's leftover cake. The TikTok user, who goes by Daughter of a Hoarder, posted a video of her walking along the streets of East London yesterday holding the wedding cake. The caption read: 'taste test pending'. But then she said: 'And then, I think it was the owner of the restaurant, was just like, 'Do you just want it? It's going to go in the bin.'' She added: 'I think they'd been eating away at it all day and I couldn't really turn that down.' The cake had a fig on top and a vanilla buttercream icing. She said that she'd tried cake from Violet Cakes in London Fields and that she didn't 'doubt it would be delicious'. After cutting off a slice for herself in front of the camera, she held up a piece of the sponge and declared: 'Cheers' before popping it in her mouth. 'Mmm, lovely,' came the verdict. 'I obviously told my girl group chat what I was doing…and they were like, 'you should sell a slice'. But that feels wrong,' she continued. Instead, she said her plan was to freeze the 'big bit' and eat her slice. She said she wanted to save the rest of the cake for 'the gang'. 'How fun for everyone to be able to say they've had a nibble of Charli and George's wedding cake. We're big stans, as a collective,' she said. She then showed a picture of herself at Charli XCX's Glastonbury performance.
