College student killed in crash on Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: A college student was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in an accident with a car at Km289.9 of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, heading towards the capital, last night.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident occurred at around 9.15pm when a Perodua Bezza, driven by a 30-year-old man, was travelling from Seremban towards Kuala Lumpur.
He said investigations found that the car driver had slowed down in the middle lane due to an earlier accident ahead.
"As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old victim, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement.
Naazron said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by dangerous or reckless driving.
Those with information about the accident are urged to assist in the investigation by contacting the investigating officer, Inspector Nur Faezah, at 012-3268496.
