'Lifetime Achievement': Revanth Reddy Equates Sonia's Praise Letter To Nobel, Oscar; BJP Reacts
While addressing a presentation of Telangana's caste census in New Delhi, CM Revanth Reddy said Sonia Gandhi's words of praise were like a "lifetime achievement award" to him.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sparked a political buzz after he compared veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's letter of praise as a 'lifetime achievement award", an Oscar and a Nobel Prize.
Revanth Reddy shared a letter by Sonia Gandhi, the current Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, who thanked him for inviting her to an event at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday.
'While I would have been delighted to be part of this significant and auspicious occasion, I regret that due to prior commitments, I will be unable to attend. However, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to you and all participants for a successful and memorable event," Sonia Gandhi wrote in the letter.
'Madam Sonia Gandhi, our leader, icon of sacrifice, diety who made the dream of a separate Telangana possible… Her letter of appreciation is the acme of achievement and the peak of satisfaction," Reddy wrote on X.
While addressing a presentation on caste census to Congress MPs in New Delhi in the presence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Reddy unveiled the 'Telangana Socio-Economic Survey – Model and Methodology' exercise, calling it the RaRe model (based on Rahul Gandhi-Revanth Reddy).
In an emotional speech, the Telangana CM showed a handwritten letter from Sonia Gandhi praising the survey and described it as 'more valuable than a Nobel Prize or an Oscar," and 'personal lifetime achievement."

'If anyone has an issue calling it the Telangana Model of Caste Census, we can call it the RaRe model," he added. The survey comprised 88,000 pages of data gathered from self-declared 'foolproof" data from door-to-door surveys, showing that OBCs constituted over 56% of Telangana's population, while SCs contributed 17.4%, STs 10.9% and 3.9% with 'no castes".
BJP, BRS Hit Back
The BJP hit back at Reddy's remarks on Sonia Gandhi, saying there was no limit to sycophancy in Congress. 'Revanth Reddy, after receiving a letter of praise from Sonia Gandhi, went as far as comparing her to a deity — this is pure devotion to their political family," said BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala.
'If the caste survey in Telangana is really so good, then why don't they make an OBC Chief Minister in Telangana or Karnataka?" he added.
BRS leader Dr Krishank mocked the CM, saying, 'How can a letter from Sonia Gandhi ji of not being able to attend be called as a Lifetime Achievement or Oscar Award for CM Revanth."

Revanth Reddy also criticised the BJP at the event, accusing the party of resisting caste census efforts and asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a 'legally converted OBC," whose caste was officially recognized in that category only after he assumed the position of Gujarat Chief Minister.

BJP Demands Urgent Installation of High-Mast Lights at Aija Bus Stand Junction
Gadwal: Led by BJP Aija Town President Kampati Bhagat Reddy, local leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a representation at the main road near the new bus stand, demanding the installation of high-mast street lights at the busy junction. Speaking to the media, Bhagat Reddy criticized the Congress-led government for neglecting public infrastructure and ignoring key civic issues faced by residents, particularly in Jogulamba Gadwal district's Aija Municipality. He highlighted the hardships faced by the public due to the absence of proper lighting at the new bus stand and main junction, which has become increasingly dangerous during night hours. He recalled that in March 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, an existing iMAX light pole collapsed due to poor quality, fortunately causing no injuries. However, since then, no action has been taken to restore lighting at the crucial junction, leaving the area in darkness for over four years. Multiple representations were made in the past: To former Municipal Commissioners on September 28 and October 24, 2024 To the current Commissioner on June 2, 2025 And to the District Collector on March 13, 2025 Following the Collector's intervention, 20 high-mast lights were sanctioned to Aija Municipality in May 2025. However, Bhagat Reddy alleged that these lights were selectively installed in areas favorable to Congress leaders, without any consultation with municipal officials or public representatives, ignoring more critical locations like the new bus stand junction. He demanded immediate action from the Municipality Commissioner, the District Collector, and the State Government, urging them to prioritize the safety and convenience of the general public. 'If the government fails to respond and install the high-mast lights at the junction without delay, the BJP will take to the streets along with the public and organize massive protests,' warned Bhagat Reddy. Present at the event were: District Council Member Pradeep Kumar, Aija Town Vice-President Lakshman Goud, OBC Morcha District Committee Members Lakshmachari, Raghu, Veeresh, Venkatesh, and Shivayya among others.

Bommai urges Congress to release evidence to prove voter fraud charges
Arguing that it is not proper for the Congress to defame constitutional institutions like the Election Commission of India for political motives, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday urged the Congress to release evidence to prove their charges that voters' theft had taken place in the previous Lok Sabha elections. 'The evidence is an atom bomb. If you do not release it, then it may explode right there amid you,' Mr. Bommai told presspersons in Bengaluru. He expressed concern that the Congress was creating doubts over the integrity of constitutional institutions in the name of voter fraud. 'First, they tried to cast suspicion on EVMs, and now they are targeting the commission itself. When a demonstration was organized to clarify the confusion about EVM hacking, the Congress did not attend,' he said. Pointing out that the State government officials serve as chief electoral officers and that political parties are also allowed to appoint their representatives at booths, he argued that it was unfair to target the commission now. 'Questions about inclusion or deletion of voters' names should have been raised earlier itself when they had been given an opportunity participate in the process,' he maintained. 'Even now, if something is wrong with the commission, say it clearly with evidence. But Congress has not even submitted a written complaint,' he said. He alleged that the Congress had resorted to such allegations as it was shocked over Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister for the third time. On internal reservation among SC communities, Mr. Bommai alleged that even now Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was not sincere about the matter.
