Texas A&M Football Wins Big With Overall June Recruitment With Consistent Five-Star and Elite Commits
Texas A&M football was the highlight from the class of 2026 recruitment cycle, particularly in June. The month wasn't kind to all schools as many suffered decommitments and missed landings, like Penn State and Auburn.

It seemed, though, that even the recruits the Aggies couldn't pull into College Station didn't hurt their overall group. While it was disappointing to not land elite recruits, Texas A&M was never desperate to fill a vacancy in its roster of rising seniors. Especially towards the end of the month, the Aggies' class of 2026 had commits sprinkled throughout both offense and defense.

Five-star Brandon Arrington's commitment sent the Aggies from good to great in terms of their recruiting position. It turned the momentum in their favor and it seemed that even if they lost a recruit to another school, they were still winning. Arrington is also head coach Mike Elko's highest-ranked commit to date.
ESPN currently ranked Texas A&M as the No. 2 overall recruiting class for 2025, noting that landing K.J. Edwards two days before Arrington was another huge win to get the Aggies started in the right direction. To round out the month, cornerback Camren Hamiel, offensive tackle Samuel Roseborough, and defensive end Tristian Givens, put Texas A&M in a comfortable spot heading into July. The Aggies also landed a five-star offensive tackle in Lamont Rogers.

All of these small and big wins may forecast success for the commitments to be announced in July. At the top of the Aggies list: Lamar Brown. Brown is the No. 1 overall defensive lineman, No. 5 recruit overall from the class, and No. 1 athlete out of Louisiana. At the moment, predictions are scattered between LSU and Texas A&M. However, Texas and Miami haven't been cut out of the race just yet.
Elko's proved that he can win both in-state and out-of-state recruitment battles, especially when the Longhorns are in the mix. Beyond the initial battle, too, the Aggies can also keep recruits away from decommitting. Madden Williams, who was up in the air as to whether he'd stick with Texas A&M earlier in the month, announced that he shut down his commitment and stayed true to his Aggies pledge.
Texas A&M currently has 21 commits, 10 of which came from June alone.

Fights continue break out at Steelers training camp
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers joked that teammates were placing bets on who'd spark the first training camp fight — but the floodgates have certainly opened over the past two days. Thornhill would get his revenge later on in another one-on-one matchup with Smith, breaking up a pass and jamming the football into the Steelers tight end's chest — leading to jawing and another physical altercation, broken up by teammates. Pat McAfee joked that it's far more concerning if there were zero fights at practice — and the Steelers have certainly shown a lot of heart over the past two days.
