
India-Bahrain digital bridge
India-based gamification company Gamezop has announced a USD 4 million investment to establish its Middle East headquarters in Bahrain, positioning the Kingdom as its strategic entry point into the region's fast-expanding digital economy.
The move marks a significant step in strengthening digital collaboration between India and Bahrain, as Gamezop aims to transform how apps and websites across the Middle East engage users. The expansion is backed by BITKRAFT Ventures and supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB).
Strategic gateway
Founded by brothers Yashash and Gaurav Agarwal in 2016, Gamezop allows apps and websites to embed casual games, quizzes, astrology, and cricket content to increase user engagement and ad revenue. With its Bahrain hub, the company plans to onboard more than 1,000 new partner platforms across the region and double its global revenue within 18 months.
Gamezop's co-founder Gaurav Agarwal said the company chose Bahrain for its business-friendly policies, digital readiness, and regional accessibility. 'Our presence here marks the beginning of what we hope will become a strong digital bridge between India and the Middle East,' he said.
Backing Bahrain's vision
According to Musab Abdulla, Executive Director of ICT at the Bahrain EDB, the arrival of Gamezop aligns with the Kingdom's vision to become a regional creative and digital content hub. 'Bahrain's gaming and content creation ecosystem is building strong momentum, powered by robust digital infrastructure and a growing pool of creative talent,' he said.
The company's model is simple but powerful: it allows digital platforms to embed games and share the ad revenue generated. With over 45 million monthly users across 70+ countries and integration into more than 9,000 platforms, Gamezop brings international experience to its MENA expansion.
Digital future
Bahrain's selection as Gamezop's headquarters signals growing interest from Indian tech firms in using the Kingdom as a launchpad into the Gulf. The region's high smartphone usage, young population, and surging demand for interactive digital content make it a promising market for gamification-driven growth.
Gamezop's entry is expected to create local job opportunities, foster partnerships with regional platforms, and contribute to Bahrain's long-term strategy of becoming a digital innovation leader.

TDT | Manama Gulf's First Rulebook for Digital Money Bahrain has become the first country in the Gulf to issue clear rules for a new kind of digital money known as stablecoins, a move that puts it ahead of neighbours in safely managing digital finance. Stablecoins are a form of online currency tied to regular money like the US dollar or Bahraini dinar. People use them for quick, low-cost transactions, including sending money across borders. But without proper rules, these digital coins can be risky. To fix that, the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has launched a new rulebook that tells companies how they can issue these coins safely. The rules say each digital coin must be backed by real money held in reserve and must be easy to convert back to cash. Companies must also be audited and follow strong safety and transparency standards. 'This milestone reflects the pioneering role the CBB continues to play,' said Mohamed Al Sadek, Executive Director of Market Development. The rules do not allow risky types of digital coins, such as those that rely on complicated software tricks to stay stable, one of which infamously crashed in 2022. While the UAE regulates some digital money, Bahrain is the first to publish a full guide for companies wanting to offer them in different currencies.

A Silicon Valley hiring scandal has erupted around an Indian software engineer accused of secretly working for as many as five technology companies simultaneously, exposing vulnerabilities in startup recruitment practices and reigniting debates over remote work accountability. Soham Parekh, based in India, faces mounting allegations from multiple Y Combinator-backed startup founders who claim he misrepresented his employment history while juggling concurrent positions. Suhail Doshi, founder of artificial intelligence startup Playground AI, first exposed the alleged scheme in a series of posts detailing how his company discovered Parekh's simultaneous employment at three to four other firms. The founder also published what he claimed was a private message from Parekh expressing remorse: 'Have I completely sabotaged my career? What can I do to improve my situation? I am also happy to come clean.' The allegations quickly snowballed as other tech executives came forward with similar experiences. In 2024, research from found that one-third of remote workers maintain multiple jobs, compared to 20% of in-person workers and 17% of hybrid workers. 25% of employees hold multiple positions, averaging 50 hours per week across their roles. 'Remote workers are increasingly working multiple jobs due to the rising cost of living in recent years,' Kevin Thompson, finance expert and CEO of 9i Capital Group, told Newsweek. 'Additionally, many remote roles are relatively easy to manage, allowing workers to take on additional jobs without a noticeable drop in productivity.' TDT | Manama Bahrain has launched the Gulf 's first national programme to train young citizens as ambassadors for consumer protection, reflecting a growing national effort to empower youth through practical civic engagement. The 'Consumer Protection Ambassadors' initiative was unveiled by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs. Open to Bahraini youth aged 24 to 30, the programme will run through July and August and aims to build legal and communication skills while deepening awareness of consumer rights. Groundbreaking model H.E. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, said the initiative stems from the Ministry's belief in involving youth in shaping the nation's future. Participants will receive both classroom instruction and hands-on experience in the Consumer Protection Directorate, including the handling of real consumer complaints. 'This programme offers a comprehensive training environment that includes workshops, legal briefings, and actual field participation,' the Minister said, adding that participants who complete the course will be formally recognised as Consumer Protection Ambassadors and receive experience certificates and incentives. H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, praised the collaboration between the two ministries, calling it an 'exceptional model' for how national institutions can jointly prepare a qualified, socially responsible generation.
