RRR will be six-lane: Komatireddy

Hyderabad
Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that the long-pending Regional Ring Road (RRR) project will soon gain momentum, as it was being converted from four-lane to six-lane.
He said that the target is to complete the RRR within three years. 'We will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari soon to push for it. Once completed, the very shape of Hyderabad will change,' he declared at a press conference on Thursday.
He added that the six-lane proposal would soon be placed before the Cabinet for approval, reminding that it was the Congress government that planned and completed the ORR project.
The Minister also said the construction of Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) roads would be taken up to ensure quality and efficiency. 'Roads are not meant for contractors, they are for people,' he said. 'The Telangana government has called tenders worth ₹6,500 crore for the construction of village roads after coming to power.'
Jibe at KCR
Mr. Venkat Reddy challenged BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao to come to the Assembly for a debate rather than blindly criticising the government. 'We will debate every issue if KCR dares to attend. Harish Rao and KTR are irrelevant now as they are just MLAs and not even Floor leaders,' he said.

Punjab and Haryana chief justice recuses from Gurugram builder trial

Punjab and Haryana high court chief justice Sheel Nagu on Thursday recused himself from hearing a petition filed by a Gurugram builder that sought to quash an FIR in a corruption case. Gavel and law books (Getty Images/iStockphoto/ Representational image) The move came after the petitioner's lawyer raised objection to the chief justice continuing to hear the case. Chief justice Nagu on May 10 in an administrative order had withdrawn the case from another judge who was set to pronounce the final judgment and listed it before his own bench. The withdrawal was prompted by 'oral and written complaints', chief justice Nagu had said. The petition filed by real estate firm M3M's director Roop Bansal seeks to quash an FIR filed by the Haryana anti-corruption bureau in April 2023 against himself and others including former special CBI court judge Sudhir Parmar. During subsequent hearings, the petitioner's counsel objected to the withdrawal of the case but the chief justice had maintained that the decision was taken to 'preserve the dignity and honour of the institution' and to 'protect the reputation' of the judge. On Thursday, appearing for the builder, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi submitted that he had instructions from his client to 'raise objection' to the chief justice continuing to hear the case. 'It is our duty to advise the court on principle. There are innumerable examples where the chief justice of India has refused to deal with the case on the judicial side when it has dealt with it on the administrative side. ..best example is also administrative judges who never deal with the cases which they have dealt on administrative duty,' Singhvi said. On the other hand, Zohair Husaain, counsel for ED, which has sought impleadment in the case, said what the office of chief justice does on the administrative side 'never comes in the way of the judicial side.' However, in view of the submissions, the chief justice ordered the listing of the case before some other bench. ED's interest in the case comes from the fact that Parmar was presiding over ED court and ED is investigating Bansal. The case stems from an April 2023 FIR, registered against Sudhir Parmar, Roop Bansal, and others under sections 7, 8, 11 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B of IPC for offences relating to a public servant being bribed, a public servant taking undue advantage without consideration from person concerned in proceedings or business transacted by such public servant, criminal misconduct by a public servant and criminal conspiracy. Sudhir Parmar, who was then special CBI judge, Panchkula, was accused of alleged favouritism towards Bansal and others who were accused in some FIRs being investigated by CBI and ED, pending before his court.

B-2 Mystery After Iran Strikes: Where Is The US Stealth Bomber

New Delhi: A US Air Force bombing operation targeting Iran's nuclear facilities has taken an unexpected turn. One group of the B-2 Spirit stealth bombers involved has reportedly not returned to base, raising questions about its whereabouts. The US deployed two separate groups of B-2 bombers from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri on June 21. One formation flew westward over the Pacific — reportedly to mislead Iranian defences — while the second formation, consisting of seven B-2s, headed east to strike Tehran's underground nuclear facilities at Fordo and Natanz, according to a EurAsian Times report published on June 27. The strike team completed its mission and returned to base after a non-stop 37-hour round trip. But little is known about the decoy team that flew towards the Pacific. What has emerged, however, is that at least one aircraft from that group was forced to make an emergency landing in Hawaii. The stealth bomber in question reportedly touched down at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, which shares runways with Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu. A video of the aircraft surfaced online, adding to the mystery surrounding its condition and the exact reason for its diversion and landing. B2 Stealth bomber sitting alone and guarded in Honolulu International. Just captured this on the taxi out. No reports online of a B2 here. This is the closest I've been to one. @grok says: There are no reports of a B-2 stealth bomber currently stationed or 'sitting' at Daniel… — David Martin (@Sir_DavidMartin) June 24, 2025 No details have been released regarding the nature of the emergency or how long the stealth bomber might remain grounded. This incident is not isolated. B-2 bombers have made unplanned landings in Hawaii before as well. In April 2023, a similar emergency landing occurred at Hickam, prompting the temporary grounding of the entire B-2 fleet after a separate crash in Missouri in late 2022. The aircraft involved in the April incident remained in Hawaii for weeks before being cleared. Another B-2 had to be transported to Northrop Grumman's facility in Palmdale, California, for repairs in 2021 following a similar incident. But the most severe B-2 mishap occurred in 2008, when the 'Spirit of Kansas' crashed shortly after takeoff from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The aircraft was destroyed, though both crew members ejected safely. The B-2 Spirit bombers, a key part of the US nuclear deterrent strategy, are known for their cutting-edge stealth technology and flexible mission capabilities.
