Following Brock Lesnar's shocking and controversial return at SummerSlam, WWE's Chief Content Officer Triple H has addressed the decision to bring him back. At the post-show, Triple H heavily implied that the return was specifically requested by John Cena for his farewell tour.
Lesnar made his stunning return after the main event of Night Two, brutally attacking John Cena after his loss to Cody Rhodes. It was Lesnar's first appearance in a WWE arena in nearly two years.
At the media scrum following the event, Triple H was asked about the decision to bring Brock Lesnar back. He framed the move as being part of John Cena's "last chapter."
"This is John Cena's wishlist, it's him writing the last chapter of his book," Triple H stated. "It's about John being able to go out the way he wants to go out, to write his chapter." These comments suggest that a final, violent feud with his legendary rival was something Cena personally wanted for his 2025 retirement tour.
Nixed Brock Lesnar Plans
Brock Lesnar's return is a highly controversial one. "The Beast Incarnate" had been absent from all WWE programming since January 2024. He was pulled from the Royal Rumble that year and a WrestleMania match with GUNTHER.

That loyalty appears to extend to his on-screen rivals as well. He and Lesnar have a long and storied history in the ring.

A Legendary John Cena Rivalry Reignited
The feud between the two icons has spanned multiple eras and has always delivered physicality and drama. The feud between John Cena and Brock Lesnar is one of the most violent and memorable of the modern era.
It began with Lesnar's 2012 return to WWE, leading to a brutal classic at Extreme Rules. The most infamous chapter of their rivalry occurred at SummerSlam in 2014. By this point, Lesnar had conquered The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania and was an unstoppable "Beast Incarnate." He challenged the then-champion, John Cena, in what was expected to be a competitive main event.
What transpired was one of the most one-sided and shocking demolitions in WWE history. Lesnar dominated Cena from bell to bell, delivering 16 German suplexes and leaving the seemingly invincible "Super Cena" utterly broken to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The match forever changed the perception of both men. While Cena would get a disqualification win in their rematch at Night of Champions, the damage had been done. This new program, set to be a major part of Cena's farewell tour, will serve as the epic final chapter to their historic feud.

Brooke Hogan Questions Why Dad Hulk Hogan Was Cremated Without an Autopsy

'I do think it's weird that no autopsy was performed, because yes, you can have a heart attack but what was the reason for the heart attack is the question,' Hogan said on TuesdayNEED TO KNOW Brooke Hogan detailed her father's health history while calling in to the Bubba the Love Sponge Show on Tuesday, Aug. 5 The daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was estranged from her father Brooke's husband Steven Oleksy previously told PEOPLE that Hulk Hogan had "no interest" in meeting their newborn twinsBrooke Hogan is calling into question why an autopsy was not performed on her father Hulk Hogan. In a guest spot on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show, the legendary WWE wrestler's daughter shared on Tuesday, Aug. 5 that she still is filling in the blanks as to what led to her estranged father's death. 'I do think it's weird that no autopsy was performed, because yes, you can have a heart attack but what was the reason for the heart attack is the question,' Hogan, 37, told the host about her father, who died in Clearwater, Fla. on Thursday, July 24. 'Because he was up and doing breathing exercises and stuff. That means that the surgery on his heart was a success and it was working.' Hogan suffered from atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heart beats, and also had a history of leukemia at the time of his death, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE. Brooke said her father — with whom she hadn't been in contact with for the last two years — 'had so many ablations and cardioversions' in the past, which were interventions done to treat his symptoms and to prolong his life. 'I remember back then praying, 'Dear God, please don't let this be the day my dad dies,' ' she recalled. 'But he got through all of it.' According to the dispatch call on the day of his death, police and medics were called to Hogan's residence at 9:51 a.m. for a person suffering cardiac arrest. First responders attempted to revive Hogan for 30 minutes, according to dispatch audio obtained and reviewed by PEOPLE, and then he was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. Hogan's primary care doctor certified his cause of death, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE, and the Hogan Knows Best alum was then cremated. In her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Brooke doubled down on her opinion that he should have received an autopsy, writing 'thank you' and 'exactly' alongside a headline from a WWE website that read: 'Quick Cremation Without Autopsy Raises Questions About Hulk Hogan's Death.' Brooke's comments are among the first she has made since her father's death late last month. Last week, her husband former NHL player Steven Oleksy posted an Instagram Story confirming that he and Brooke have been grieving "privately' since Hogan's death. Oleksy previously told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that their estrangement 'had nothing to do with his new wife' Sky Daily, whom he married in 2023. "My wife will say it — it had nothing to do with his new wife. It had to do with the way he treated [Brooke]," Oleksy said. Oleksy also told PEOPLE Hogan had "no interest" in meeting their twins, who were born in January. Over time, the support Brooke had given her father — who was embroiled in several controversies during his career, including using racial slurs towards his daughter's ex-boyfriend in a leaked audio recording — had "really taken a toll on her," says her husband. "It was a situation where she loved her dad very, very much," Olesky told PEOPLE. Read the original article on People

Dozens gather at Florida church for Hulk Hogan's funeral service

LARGO, Fla. (AP) — Dozens of people gathered Tuesday evening at a funeral service for famed wrestler Hulk Hogan, who died last month at 71. The private service was held at the same church where Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was baptized in 2023. He died after suffering a heart attack July 24 at his home in Clearwater, according to the Pinellas County medical examiner. Hogan previously had leukemia and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm, the examiner's report said. His death was declared to be natural. The service was heavily patrolled by church security and Largo police officers, including K-9 dogs. Anyone not on the guest list was turned away near signs that read, 'Private Event.' President Donald Trump posted a photo on his Truth Social platform showing him arm wrestling Hogan, saying, 'They are having the 'Hulkster's' funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture.' Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered flags flown at half-staff at all official buildings last Friday, which he declared 'Hulk Hogan Day in Florida.' Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE's long history, known for both his larger-than-life personality and his in-ring exploits. He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. Hogan was also a celebrity outside the wrestling world, appearing in numerous movies and television shows, including 'Hogan Knows Best,' a reality show about his life on VH1. Hogan's body will be cremated. His daughter Brooke Bollea Oleksy, better known by her stage name Brooke Hogan, memorialized her father in a recent social media post. 'I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens,' she wrote on Instagram. Curt Anderson, The Associated Press
