Hogan suffered from atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heart beats, and also had a history of leukemia at the time of his death, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE. Brooke said her father — with whom she hadn't been in contact with for the last two years — 'had so many ablations and cardioversions' in the past, which were interventions done to treat his symptoms and to prolong his life. 'I remember back then praying, 'Dear God, please don't let this be the day my dad dies,' ' she recalled. 'But he got through all of it.' According to the dispatch call on the day of his death, police and medics were called to Hogan's residence at 9:51 a.m. for a person suffering cardiac arrest. First responders attempted to revive Hogan for 30 minutes, according to dispatch audio obtained and reviewed by PEOPLE, and then he was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. Hogan's primary care doctor certified his cause of death, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE, and the Hogan Knows Best alum was then cremated.
