Punk duo Bob Vylan have been dropped from a line-up of a French music festival, following their controversial appearance at Glastonbury Festival.
The group had been due to perform at Kave Fest, which is held in the town of Gisors, north of Paris, on Sunday (6 July).
Organisers confirmed to the BBC their set would no longer go ahead and said they would release a statement later explaining their decision.
During Bob Vylan's Saturday set, the lead singer led the crowd in chants of "death, death to the IDF [Israel Defence Forces]", prompting criticism from across the political spectrum, including the prime minister who called it "appalling hate speech".
Bob Vylan responded to the outcry in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, saying they had been "targeted for speaking up".
"We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine," they said.
They added that "we, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story, and whatever sanctions we receive will be a distraction."
The BBC was also criticised for broadcasting the set via a live stream which was available on iPlayer.
The UK's chief rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis strongly criticised "the airing of vile Jew-hate at Glastonbury" earlier this week.
The BBC previously said the "antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves".
In a statement on Monday, the corporation said: "The team were dealing with a live situation but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen."
Broadcast regulator Ofcom also issued a statement, saying it was "very concerned" about the live stream, adding that "the BBC clearly has questions to answer".

Addressed: Should You Wear a Swimsuit On Dry Land?

Welcome to Addressed, a weekly column where we, ahem, address the joys (and tribulations!) of getting dressed. So far we've unpacked how to wear shorts at the office and beyond, how to pack a carry-on bag for a work trip, how to dress with style in your third trimester, and even how to layer without looking like that chair in your room (you know the one). Download the Vogue app, and find our Style Advice section to submit your question. Every once in a while, a collection comes along so exactingly crafted that it makes you reconsider your wardrobe or, faced with that impossibility, make you wish for at least one chance to go all-in on the fantasy in your very-real life. Such was the case of Ryota Iwai's latest Auralee collection, shown in Paris last week. In the second look, a model walked out wearing a simple two-piece swimsuit consisting of a scoopneck top and little shorts in a gorgeous shade of citrine tipped in white, topped off with a short black thigh-grazing leather jacket, and a long black trench coat, socks, and sandals. Suddenly a simple question arose; wait, can you just wear a swimsuit out on dry land? Now, I am not by any means insinuating that this is something that can be done at the workplace—unless you're a lifeguard, I guess—but on those extra-warm summer days, when you go to the beach or the pool, or if you're simply vacationing somewhere when you can live out fashion fantasies, this really feels like the right way to be. The vibes are carefree and youthful—something that always says summer to me, no matter how old I get. The gold-standard for wearing a swimsuit-as-clothing is the pairing of a one-piece with trousers or a skirt, as if it were a bodysuit. I've never really been a subscriber to this formula myself, but I have to say that looking at the way Iwai paired the super-sporty maillot with a very proper pair of pleated (and belted!) trousers feels alluring. I think it's precisely that contrast—the super casual with the business-casual—that makes the combination feel so fresh. Iwai also styled a lot of the looks with boy shorts. In New York there is no shortage of young women in teeny shorts that look like underwear (not to be all Cher Horowitz's dad), and this is not the first runway collection in recent memory to encourage the wearing of tiny bottoms out on the street, but on the Auralee runway they felt more matter-of-fact wardrobing and less 'styled runway look.' Take a look at the striped button-down shirt artfully gathered at the waist and paired with a swim shorts two-piece, or the navy bottoms worn with a double-layered tank and paired—inexplicably, geniusly—with black buckled moto boots and socks. Again, it's the unexpected pairings that make it so good. Rachel Comey also leaned into this wet-dry mix, with a swim micro-skirt (shorts attached!), accompanied by a breezy knit polo and sneakers. A full-coverage swim bottom is also the perfect way to wear sheer clothes—whether dreamy boho dresses or minimal pencil skirts. So why not consider a little experimentation? Old Navy has basic black swim shorts to layer underneath short tunics or jackets, and Reformation makes a blue plaid pair for more romantic stylings, as well as a classic striped one-piece that might look fab with a pair of fab '70s style wide-leg, high-waist jeans. As long as the combo feels just a little off, it's likely to be big-time right.

Wallows Recall Morrissey Walking Out of Their Show: ‘That's the Perfect Morrissey Story'

Wallows joined Jake Shane's podcast Therapuss for a conversation covering everything from their formation and early memories to Morrissey's surprising appearance at one of their shows and Dylan Minnette's potential return to acting. The American alt-rock trio—Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston—discussed everything from their teenage misadventures to the early days of their band, revealing how a Kings of Leon cover sparked their journey. More from Billboard Debbie Harry on Image Expectations in Music: 'I Wanted to Work' Bob Vylan Axed From Radar, Kave Fest After Glastonbury Backlash Neil Young Plays Rare Full-Band 'Ambulance Blues' With The Chrome Hearts 'That's why one of the first songs we ever learned, ever covered was a Kings of Leon song called 'Molly's Chambers,'' Minnette shared. 'I wanted to be like them. I don't think I ever got as rock and roll as they were—we're more Catan, cold brew, and cold plunge now.' Minnette also addressed persistent rumors about his acting career, clarifying he never officially stepped away from Hollywood. 'There was this weird narrative that I quit acting, but I never felt that or said that,' he said. 'I've had a desire to do it again in some regard, and if the right thing comes along, then the right thing comes along.' His last acting credit was Hulu's The Dropout in 2021, but he still describes 13 Reasons Why as 'the most fulfilling experience I ever had shooting anything.' The band reminisced about early chaos on tour—including an Ohio incident where 'someone got their head kicked into our van'—and their first Coachella set in 2019. 'It was nerve-racking,' Minnette recalled. 'We had never played the new songs live, never used in-ear monitors. It was a lot, and after that I was like, we're never doing Coachella as the first stop of the tour again.' Perhaps the wildest anecdote came when the band revealed Morrissey once attended a Wallows show. 'Morrissey came to a show we played,' Minnette recalled of the night at Los Angeles' Roxy Theatre. 'A couple of years ago, we did this 50th anniversary special show at the Roxy, and they asked us to play. We said, 'Yeah, we have a lot of history there.' And someone told us, 'Morrissey from The Smiths, he's apparently a big Wallows fan, he's asking to come to the show.' We were like, 'What are you talking about? Morrissey's not… yeah right.'' But as the night approached, their skepticism turned into disbelief. 'Then the day of the show, they're like, 'He's coming,' and we're like, 'Okay, right.' And then before the set, they were like, 'He's in the building, he's ready to watch.' And we were like, 'Morrissey's here?'' Minnette continued. The surreal encounter didn't last long. 'There's a really funny video of him sitting there — he looks so upset and he looks so mad. Apparently our fans are really loud, screaming girl voices, and it was way too loud for him. He left three songs in,' Minnette said with a laugh. 'That's the perfect Morrissey story. Didn't even need to meet him. It's the fact that he was there and left.' Wallows are currently gearing up for their summer festival run, which includes their third appearance at Lollapalooza. Bob Vylan Axed From Radar, Kave Fest After Glastonbury Backlash

Bob Vylan have been removed from the lineups of England's Radar Festival and France's Kave Fest as backlash continues from their Glastonbury set. The London punk-rap duo also lost their U.S. visas and representation with United Talent Agency following their politically charged West Holts Stage appearance, where frontman Bobby Vylan led the crowd in chants of 'Free, free Palestine' and 'Death to the IDF.' More from Billboard Debbie Harry on Image Expectations in Music: 'I Wanted to Work' Wallows Recall Morrissey Walking Out of Their Show: 'That's the Perfect Morrissey Story' Neil Young Plays Rare Full-Band 'Ambulance Blues' With The Chrome Hearts Kave Fest organizers explained the band's removal, saying: 'In light of recent events, Bob Vylan have been dropped by their agent. The Eure department and the city of Gisors have informed us they will oppose Bob Vylan's presence at Kave Fest. We fully support freedom of expression for ALL artists around the world. Our thoughts are with the victims of war in Palestine and their families. We stand firmly against all acts of war and hatred.' A statement posted on Radar festival's Instagram account also confirmed their removal, saying, 'Bob Vylan will not be appearing at Radar festival this weekend.' Bob Vylan responded defiantly to the cancellations in a statement shared to Instagram on Tuesday (July 1), captioning the post, 'Silence is not an option.' Text shared on the post read, 'Today, a good many people would have you believe a punk band is the number one threat to world peace. Last week it was a Palestine pressure group, the week before that it was another band. 'We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people,' the statement continued. 'We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine. A machine whose own soldiers were told to use 'unnecessary lethal force' against innocent civilians waiting for aid. A machine that has destroyed much of Gaza.' They added, 'The more time they talk about Bob Vylan, the less time they spend answering for their criminal inaction. We are being targeted for speaking up. We are not the first. We will not be the last. And if you care for the sanctity of human life and freedom of speech, we urge you to speak up, too. FREE PALESTINE.' Earlier this week, Bob Vylan's U.S. visas were revoked, forcing the cancellation of their planned North American tour dates. Meanwhile, U.K. police have jannounced that they have opened investigations into both Bob Vylan and Kneecap's Glastonbury performances. 'Video footage and audio from Bob Vylan and Kneecap's performances at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday has been reviewed,' said the police force in a statement as per Deadline. 'Following the completion of that assessment process we have decided further enquiries are required and a criminal investigation is now being undertaken. A senior detective has been appointed to lead this investigation.' 'This has been recorded as a public order incident at this time while our enquiries are at an early stage. The investigation will be evidence-led and will closely consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes.'
