‘Now You See Me' Sequel Finally Gets the Title We've All Been Waiting For

Yahoo01-04-2025
'Now You See Me' is set to be a longterm part of Lionsgate's theatrical slate, as the studio has not only announced a new title for the thriller series' upcoming third installment, but is also putting a fourth film in early development with Ruben Fleischer to direct.
The third installment, set for release on Nov. 14, is now called by a title some have jokingly been asking for: 'Now You See Me: Now You Don't.' Fleischer directs the installment, which sees newcomers Rosamund Pike, Dominic Sessa, Justice Smith and Ariana Greenblatt join series regulars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher and Morgan Freeman.
Bobby Cohen, who originally developed and has produced all the films in the series, will return to produce the new installment alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
'Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can't wait for audiences to discover what he's done with the third film and thrilled he'll be making even more magic with us,' said Lionsgate film chair Adam Fogelson, who announced the deal during the studio's CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday.
'Directing 'Now You See Me: Now You Don't' was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things—heist movies and magic—and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going,' Fleischer said.
Robert Melnik negotiated the deal on behalf of Lionsgate. Fleischer is represented by CAA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Isla Fisher's Post-Divorce Dig At Sacha Cohen

After finalizing her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen earlier this year, Isla Fisher shared a cheeky comment referencing marriage, and people think there might be an underlying meaning to her message. In April 2024, Isla announced they jointly filed to end their marriage the year prior. On June 13, Isla revealed their divorce was officially finalized. The two were reportedly embroiled in a $75 million court battle. "Our divorce has now been finalised," they wrote via their Instagram Stories in June. "We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children. We ask for the media to continue to respect our children's privacy." The actors, who met at a party in 2002, have been together for more than 20 years and were married for 13 of them. Isla and Sacha share three children together — two girls and one boy. Along with keeping their relationship fairly private, the former couple has done the same with the identity of their kids. They haven't shared too much about the reason behind their divorce, but despite their decision to go their separate ways, the former couple said the split was amicable. Now, just one month after their marriage was officially dissolved, the Now You See Me: Now You Don't star shared an interesting quote on her Instagram Story, regarding women and their lack of desire to get married nowadays. She posted this earlier today: While I can't find credible sources to justify the statistic listed in her post, there are studies (look here and here) that show growing numbers of women who prefer to delay marriage rather than those being against it in its entirety. "It's not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage." Well, alright then! What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments!

Ayo Edebiri and Julia Roberts Face Off in Tense 'After The Hunt' Trailer

Luca Guadagnino is so back. The Oscar-nominated director's new film, After the Hunt, will officially be released this October. The film is written by first-time screenwriter Nora Garrett and stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, and Andrew Garfield. Here's everything we know about the forthcoming psychological drama. The film follows a college professor (Julia Roberts) who gets caught in the middle of a campus scandal after her student (Ayo Edebiri) accuses one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield) of 'crossing the line.' Per IndieWire, on an episode of the podcast WTF with Marc Maron, Guadagnino shared that After The Hunt is one of his 'very rare' films that isn't about 'sexuality or love.' 'It's a very timely movie for where we are now,' he said, 'in terms of the society and the division in society and the extreme positions that we can have vis-a-vis an opinion in a way. It's about what happens in the milieu of academia between younger and older people and the idea of consent. I can tell you that it's very loaded. I can tell you that the movie is very provocative, but not in a stupid way, but I would say in a very articulate way.' He also added that this is Roberts's 'best performance' of her career. In another interview, Guadagnino also spoke about how much he enjoyed working with Edebiri. 'Ayo is a movie star in the real sense of bigness, and cinema, and excitement,' he told W. 'She has a commitment toward performance that you rarely find now. She absolutely commands your gaze. She's funny and she's extremely beautiful—and that is a very rare combination.' In addition to Roberts, Edebiri, and Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny round out the cast. In an interview with Deadline at this year's CinemaCon, Garfield revealed what it was like to work with Guadagnino for the first time. 'What was exciting and surprising about being with Luca on set was how loose he is, how relaxed he is, how spontaneous, in the moment, and totally focused [he is] when he needs to be,' he said. 'He seems to be allowing the day, the scene, and the moment to be found. And he's such a precise filmmaker, simultaneously.' Edebiri echoed those sentiments. She said that filming with Guadagnino was a 'mix of complete openness and specificity of vision.' She continued, 'As an actor that fosters you to come up with so many things and understandings of your character.' Yes! On July 16, Amazon MGM Studios released the official trailer. The film will be released in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 10 and will open nationwide on October 17. This story will be updated.

'He's such a precise filmmaker, simultaneously, so I found that deeply surprising.'
