Disney holds ‘crisis talks' after Jared Leto sexual misconduct report threatens to derail release of movie Tron: Ares

DISNEY has found itself scrambling to organize the promotion of Jared Leto's new movie amid historic claims of sexual impropriety, an insider has exclusively told The U.S. Sun. Leto, 53, has been accused by nine women, including some who were teenagers at the time. 4 Jared Leto speaks on stage about Disney's Tron: Ares during CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on April 3, 2025 Credit: AFP 4 The Oscar-winning actor is the lead in the movie, scheduled for an October release, and is also one of the producers Credit: YouTube/ONE Media Model Laura La Rue was among the accusers who said she was just 16 when the star, then 36, began flirting through messages and once emerged from a room at his house naked, according to a damming Recalling the alleged experience at his house, she said, "I thought maybe this was just what adult men do." Leto's reps denied any wrongdoing, saying, "Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate and Ms La Rue later applied to work as his personal assistant." La Rue denied she ever applied for the job, according to AirMail. He is not being sued or charged with any crime, but the report has thrown a wrench in the works when it comes to promoting his latest films. The Oscar-winning actor has two big-budget films being released in the coming months at Disney and Amazon MGM, Tron: Are s and Masters of the Universe. Ahead of Tron's release in October, Disney is scheduled to host a panel at San Diego ComicCon at the end of July, "Jared wants it to be business as usual ahead of the release of his new movie, but Disney is nervous about the promotion of Tron," an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun. Most read in Entertainment "The accusations of sexual misconduct couldn't have come at a worse time. "The marketing team has been having crisis meetings ahead of its theatrical release in October. "Talks are still ongoing about how to handle the situation, but he will likely take part in some capacity and hold his head high. "He is not being sued civilly and he isn't being charged with a crime, if he were I think things would be a lot different." Disney may still have to cut its losses on this one." An insider told The U.S. Sun Leto took to the stage to speak about Tron: Ares during CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on April 3, 2025, just two months before the report was published by AirMail. One woman speaking to the outlet claimed his behavior "has been an open secret for a long time." The U.S. Sun's source added, "Disney may still have to cut its losses on this one but will still do what it can to promote the movie and create a buzz." Neither Disney nor a representative for Leto responded to a request for comment. San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 24 to 27. Tron is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 10. The movie also Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Cameron Monaghan, and Jeff Bridges. And although a big-budget movie usually comes with TV and print interview slots for its lead star and a social media push, there has been no marketing since the initial trailer was released in April. Leto is also set to appear in Masters of the Universe, which is scheduled for release in June 2026, although he is not the lead character in the live-action feature film. The actor has been cast as Skeletor, the primary antagonist to Nicholas Galitzine' s He-Man, according to reports. Kneecap fill Glastonbury stage as Mo Chara declares 'I'm a free man'

Kneecap member Mo Chara said 'Glastonbury, I'm a free man' as the Belfast rap trio took to the West Holts Stage at the festival on Saturday. The group have been in the headlines after member Liam Óg O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terror offence. News broadcasts criticising the hip hop trio played from the sound system before they walked onto the stage were booed by the Glastonbury Festival audience. Kneecap member DJ Provai signals to the crowd on the West Holts Stage (Yui Mok/PA) Access to the area around the West Holts Stage was closed around 45 minutes before their performance after groups of fans arrived to form a sea of Irish and Palestinian flags. In the run up to the festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, several politicians called for the group to be removed from the line-up and British prime minister Keir Starmer said their performance would not be 'appropriate'. During the performance on Saturday, the trio led chants of 'fuck Keir Starmer' and said that he was just a 'shit Jeremy Corbyn.' Festival organisers also instructed people not to attend the stage after their performance had started due to crowd congestion. Earlier on Saturday, the BBC confirmed they would not be live-streaming the set but said the performance is likely to be made available on-demand later. A BBC spokesperson said: 'As the broadcast partner, the BBC is bringing audiences extensive music coverage from Glastonbury, with artists booked by the festival organisers. 'While the BBC doesn't ban artists, our plans ensure that our programming meets our editorial guidelines. 'We don't always live-stream every act from the main stages and look to make an on-demand version of Kneecap's performance available on our digital platforms, alongside more than 90 other sets.' The crowd ahead of Kneecap performing on the West Holts Stage (Yui Mok/PA) It is understood the BBC needs to consider the performance before making a final decision. The band said on Instagram: 'The propaganda wing of the regime has just contacted us…. 'They WILL put our set from Glastonbury today on the iPlayer later this evening for your viewing pleasure.' Ó hAnnaidh, 27, was charged with allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah, while saying 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a gig in November last year. On June 18 the rapper was cheered by hundreds of supporters as he arrived with bandmates Naoise O Caireallain and JJ Ó Dochartaigh at Westminster Magistrates' Court in Free Mo Chara T-shirts. He was released on unconditional bail until the next hearing at the same court on August 20. Ahead of the group's performance, Gemma Gibson, 41, from Newcastle told the PA news agency that she was 'really excited' to see Kneecap perform. Asked if their set should have been cancelled amid the ongoing controversy, she said: 'Well, that would be completely against everything that Glastonbury stands for… This is where they should be.' Also playing on Saturday afternoon were Leeds rock band Kaiser Chiefs and US star Brandi Carlile, who released an album with Sir Elton John earlier in the year. Irish singer CMAT, who played the Pyramid Stage on Friday, performed a secret set at the BBC Introducing stage on Saturday. Neil Young, best known for songs such as Rockin' In The Free World, Like A Hurricane and Cinnamon Girl, will headline the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night with his band the Chrome Hearts. The BBC will broadcast Young's set after previously saying it would not be shown 'at the artist's request'. .

What time and channel is the Jake Paul fight on? TV and stream details

Jake Paul faces Julio Cesar Chavez Jr tonight – and a win could catapult him into world title contention. Paul has padded his record largely against retired MMA fighters and fellow influencers, but Chavez Jr represents a significant step up as a former world champion. A victory tonight would likely earn Paul a ranking from at least one major sanctioning body, potentially positioning him for a shot at a cruiserweight title. Chavez Jr, however, will be determined to avoid the humiliation of losing to a YouTuber-turned-boxer. He's only fought once in the past four years, narrowly outpointing ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall. Here's everything you need to know about tonight's bout – including the start time and how to watch. After his fight with Mike Tyson was shown on Netflix, Jake Paul returns to DAZN tonight for his clash with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The fight will NOT be included as part of your DAZN subscription but will instead be shown on pay-per-view, meaning fans will have to stump up £24.99 to watch. You can sign up for DAZN and purchase the fight by clicking the link below... Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will likely walk to the ring just after 4am (Irish time) with the fight starting closer to 4.30am. With the fight being staged in California, this will be 8.30pm local time so don't be surprised if the fight actually gets underway closer to 5am Irish time. As always, the main event time will be dictated to some extent by how long the undercard fights take to complete. Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - 4.30am Jake Paul, who boldly and perhaps absurdly claims to be the face of boxing, will need to stylishly defeat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr to validate his audacious claim. It's been over two years since Paul faced a 'genuine' boxer, Tommy Fury, and he now faces a significant step up from 58 year old Mike Tyson, whom he outscored last November. However, Chavez Jr has been largely inactive, having fought only once in the past four years, scraping a victory over ex-UFC star Uriah Hall. Gilberto Ramirez vs Yuniel Dorticos - 3.30am If both men triumph in their respective bouts tonight, Gilberto Ramirez could be the one to give Jake Paul his dream world title shot. Before Paul steps into the ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Ramirez will defend his cruiserweight world title against Yuniel Dorticos, a former champion himself. Having won three consecutive fights after his sole career loss to Dmitry Bivol, Ramirez is the favourite for tonight's match. Floyd Schofield vs Tevin Farmer - 2.30am Floyd Schofield was scheduled to fight Shakur Stevenson earlier this year but withdrew during fight week due to illness. Instead, he'll face veteran Tevin Farmer tonight, aiming to put on a spectacular performance to secure another high-profile bout. Schofield risks his undefeated record against Farmer, who has lost his last three fights and is eager to make a stylish comeback. Avious Griffin vs Julian Rodriguez - 1.45am With just one defeat in 40 fights between them, there's a lot at stake tonight. Avious Griffin remains undefeated in his career, having won all 17 of his bouts and knocked out all but one of his opponents. Julian Rodriguez, who has only fought three times since his loss to Jose Pedraza in 2021, needs a win tonight to reignite his career. Raul Curiel vs Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez - 1am Two unbeaten fighters start the pay-per-view segment of the fight card, with both men winning all but one of their fights - the other being a draw. Raul Curiel was held to a draw in his last bout just before Christmas, while Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez has claimed four victories since his sole setback in 2023. Holly Holm vs Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa Victor Morales vs Rene Alvarado Joel Iriarte vs Kevin Johnson Joshua Edwards vs Dominicc Hardy John Ramirez vs Joahnys Argilagos Alexander Gueche vs Vincent Avina Jake Paul: "He's a great fighter. I like big names, legendary names, and he's on my path to a world championship. This is a tough test, a very tough test, but I'm here to challenge myself and do big things in this sport and then make a title run after I beat him. He's coming in prepared. They're saying this is the hardest he's ever trained, and he's right…I'm not a good boxer. I'm a great boxer." Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: "I don't think he's good. I think he tries, he trains hard, but he's not a good fighter. He's definitely not a good boxer. If he were a good boxer, then everyone else on this stage would be a legend. I don't think he's a good boxer, and everybody knows that. My preparation, I always prepare to take a win. I'm here to win and that's why I'm so confident that I will win."
