Greenville Country Club hosts third-annual Trey Kuhn Memorial Scholarship golf tourney
The tournament helps fund scholarships to students enrolled at Pitt Community College in the construction program.
Kuhn was in the program when he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and the tournament highlights May as Brain Tumor Awareness Month.
Kuhn's parents Cindy and Will said they are grateful for the abundance of support this tournament has gotten over the last several years.
'The support we've gotten from the community, the donations, our auction, our raffle and as I said, a sold out event has just been very heartwarming,' they said. 'We're really honored with the turnout and the support that we get and what's been great is the reaction from the kids that get the scholarships, because it certainly gives them an opportunity they might not have had before and it's just great to see the the excitement in their eyes from that.'The tournament is now able to give five students a scholarship for the construction program to help grow these trades and the community in the near future.

ACC Media Days: Clemson QB Cade Klubnik Says 'A Lot of People Wanted Me Out'
Cade Klubnik isn't shying away from the struggles that shaped his Clemson career. Speaking during ACC Media Days on Thursday, the Tigers quarterback reflected on a critical moment after his sophomore season - one he says still fuels him."After my sophomore year, when a lot of people wanted me out at Clemson," Klubnik said, "Coach Swinney pulled me into his office and told me, 'Cade, I believe in you. Let's go to work.' That conversation has fueled me for the last two years." Klubnik admitted that season was a turning point. There was growing doubt from fans and some around the former five-star recruit faced criticism for inconsistency and early growing pains. But Swinney never wavered."Having a coach like coach Swinney to lean on through everything, through the ups and the downs, has been unbelievable," Klubnik said.
