When you spend over a decade in the league, you pick up more than just stats and highlights, you learn the game inside and out. That's exactly what 14-year NBA vet Jared Dudley did, and now he's leveling up in his coaching career.

After a solid run with the Mavericks, Dudley's packing his bags for Denver to join the Nuggets as an assistant coach. But before he starts this new chapter, he made sure to share some heartfelt words for the people who helped him get here and naturally, Jason Kidd was right at the top of that list.
After news broke out about his move to the Nuggets, Dudley reacted to a post on X and shared his thoughts on his next move.
He said, 'Thankful For Coach Kidd and Nico for giving me the opportunity to go from a Player to front bench coach.. Excited for my next chapter with Coach Adelman and the Denver Nuggets! Let's get it!'

Dudley spent four solid years on the Mavericks' bench as an assistant coach, from 2021 to 2025. He really leaned into the player development side of things and saw it pay off big time when the Mavs made two trips to the Western Conference Finals and even snagged a division title in 2024.
Before that, Dudley carved out a 14-year playing career in the league, bouncing around with a bunch of teams. He suited up for the Bobcats (now Hornets), Suns, Bucks, Clippers, Wizards, Nets and wrapped things up with the Lakers. He's seen a little bit of everything.
As for the Nuggets, they're coming off a pretty solid season. They finished 50-32 out West and pushed the eventual champs, OKC, to seven games before bowing out in the second round.

But things weren't exactly smooth sailing behind the scenes. Right before the playoffs, they shocked everyone by firing coach Mike Malone and general manager Calvin Booth out of nowhere. They brought in Adelman to steer the ship as interim head coach. Now, with Dudley coming in, they're hoping for a fresh start and a bit more stability.

Alvin Kamara took a first-pitch mulligan in Chicago on Saturday

Alvin Kamara got a mulligan. And he made the most of it. Via the Saints running back threw out the first pitch for Saturday's game between the Cardinals and the Cubs. He didn't like his first attempt at the first pitch, which was in the dirt and bounced away from the mascot/catcher. Advertisement So Kamara took a second one. It's a new move that others should copy. He stayed on the mound an called for the ball. So he got the ball, and he threw it again. For Kamara, the second pitch went much better than the first one. And it was, in the end, another example of the very real difference between throwing from the mound and not throwing from the mound.

'Hard Not To Go There': Echo Sound Candidate For Test After Victory Ride Score

'Hard Not To Go There': Echo Sound Candidate For Test After Victory Ride Score originally appeared on Paulick Report. Gabriel Duignan's Echo Sound stormed home a 4 1/4-length winner in Thursday's Grade 3, $175,000 Victory Ride, a 6 1/2-furlong sprint for sophomore fillies during the July 4th Racing Festival, at Saratoga Race Course. Advertisement Trained by Rusty Arnold, the Echo Town bay pressed the pace through a half-mile in 44.85 seconds on the fast main track and separated from the field down the lane to surge through the wire to win in a final time of 1:15.49. The performance earned a career-best 101 Beyer Speed Figure. Arnold reported Echo Sound exited the strong showing in good order. 'She looks good. She came out of the race good,' said Arnold. 'She's good and healthy, and back in her feed good, with no issues. That was quite a performance. I thought she stepped up, she ran better; it was probably her best race and hopefully she is one on the improve because each race is going to be a little tougher.' The logical next spot would be the Grade 1, $500,000 Test, a seven-furlong sprint for sophomore fillies, on August 2 at Saratoga. Advertisement Interestingly, Arnold trained Victory Ride through a 9-5-1-2 record that included a score in the 2001 Test over eventual Hall of Famer Xtra Heat. "It would be hard not to go there if everything is good. If she comes back and trains well that would be where we would go,' Arnold said. 'You don't know until you do it, but you would think seven furlongs is within her realm, so we will give it a try." Echo Sound improved to 6-5-1-0 with additional stakes scores in the Grade 3 Miss Preakness on May 16 at Pimlico Race Course and the Myrtlewood in October at Keeneland, as well as a runner-up effort in the Fern Creek in November at Churchill Downs. Williamson has RBI double, Castillo strikes out 8 in 7 innings as Mariners beat Pirates 1-0

Ben Williamson had an RBI double in the sixth inning, Luis Castillo tossed seven innings, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 on Saturday night. Williamson, who came in with just one RBI since May 29, patiently waited on a cutter down in the zone from Pirates reliever Caleb Ferguson (0-3) and smacked it into the right-center gap to put the Mariners in front. It was the only run they would need with Castillo (5-5) easily going through the Pirates' lineup. The right-hander gave up two singles while striking out a season-high eight. He needed just 99 pitches to tie his season-high for innings. Matt Brash pitched the eighth, and Andres Munoz got the last three outs for his 20th save. Pirates starter Mike Burrows gave up three hits and walked four while striking out six in five innings. Key moment Just two hitters into the game, Pirates designated hitter Andrew McCutchen got a hold of a four-seam fastball from Castillo. Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez raced to and collided with the wall in left-center field to take extra bases away from McCutchen. Key stat Castillo went at least seven innings for the 20th time in 92 starts with the Mariners. Up next Mariners RHP George Kirby (2-4, 4.85 ERA) will start against Pirates RHP Paul Skenes (4-7, 2.03) on Sunday.
