Ministry of Sports holds first 'Customer Council' of the year

ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The Ministry of Sports held its first of the 'Customer Councils' of 2025, under the Zero Bureaucracy Programme. This reflects the ministry's commitment to improving government services and boosting operational efficiency across the sports sector.The session was attended by Dr. Ahmad Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, alongside more than 40 representatives of national sports federations.Dr. Al Falasi emphasised that organising the first Customer Council for 2025 reflects the ministry's commitment to involving customers in the development of sports services.He said, 'At the Ministry of Sports, we operate according to a participatory approach based on innovation, integration, and flexibility. We believe that true development begins with the customer, who is best positioned to identify challenges and propose practical solutions based on their daily experience."In this context, Customer Councils serve as a key tool for direct engagement, identifying areas for improvement, and adopting proposals that simplify procedures and reduce administrative burdens on customers, in alignment with the 'Zero Bureaucracy' programme, thereby contributing to the UAE Government's journey toward global leadership in delivering services that meet and exceed customer expectations.'He added that the ministry launched the 'Sportifai' digital transformation platform, which primarily aims to digitise processes and accelerate their completion to facilitate access to services. The platform also provides data to all sports entities in the country and connects them within a unified ecosystem, utilising the latest technologies based on artificial intelligence and precise data.Through this integration of direct engagement and digital transformation, we aim to offer a seamless, equitable, and flexible experience for all users, while also enhancing service efficiency to support the future of Emirati sports.'The 'Customer Councils' is one of several innovative government tools designed to enhance communication with stakeholders. It provides an open and inclusive platform for exchanging ideas, addressing challenges, and identifying development opportunities.Following the Council, dedicated teams within the ministry responsible for service development and bureaucracy reduction began reviewing the proposals and feedback submitted by federation representatives. These are being prioritised for implementation to support operational excellence and raise service quality across the board.These Councils are part of the ministry's wider efforts to enhance user experiences, streamline administrative procedures, reduce documentation, and expand access to efficient, tech-enabled sports services supported by technology and AI.
The move reflects the ministry's dedication to commitment to enhancing transparency and flexibility in service delivery, in line with the objectives of "We the UAE 2031" vision, which aims to position the UAE as one of the world's most efficient and leading governments.

The session was chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The meeting, held at Emirates Towers, was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The newly approved initiatives span multiple sectors including higher education, air quality, governance, and legal services. These efforts aim to position Dubai as a global hub for academia, business, and sustainable development. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan stated that youth are central to shaping the future and highlighted Dubai's commitment to equipping them with world-class academic and research opportunities. He emphasized Dubai's ambition to become one of the top 10 global cities for students. The Executive Council revealed that Dubai is currently home to 37 international university branches and aims to increase this number to over 70 by 2033. The higher education sector is projected to contribute AED5.6 billion to Dubai's GDP. Key initiatives announced: The Academic and Career Guidance Policy will provide career support services, strengthen education-to-employment transitions, and boost employment rates among Emirati graduates. The Air Quality Strategy 2030 sets goals to meet clean air standards on 90% of days and reduce PM2.5 to 35 micrograms per cubic metre. The Dubai International Mediation Centre was approved to provide cost-effective dispute resolution services and enhance legal infrastructure. A new Governance Policy for Government Construction Projects was introduced to streamline approval processes and improve transparency in public sector infrastructure. The Air Quality Strategy will be led by the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority in collaboration with entities including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, RTA, and others. The mediation centre, co-developed with the ADR Centre in Europe, will support Dubai's international competitiveness in legal and business services. The construction governance policy will classify projects based on cost and is expected to support the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to raise government spending from AED512 billion to AED700 billion in the next decade. The Dubai government reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth, enhancing education, ensuring environmental sustainability, and driving long-term economic development through strategic planning and cross-sector partnerships. UAE Balloon ascends in Russian skies
28 June 2025 13:58 MOSCOW (WAM)The UAE Balloon Team is participating in the third edition of the International Ballooning Festival "Air Brotherhood", which kicked off in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod and continues until July festival sees broad international participation, including teams from Bulgaria, Slovakia, Belarus, and Armenia, alongside several Russian Pilot Abdulaziz Nasser Al Mansoori, head of the UAE Balloon Team, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the team's participation goes beyond the sporting aspect: 'It represents a mission to introduce Emirati culture and highlight the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly countries.'He noted that the team presented free aerial shows in the presence of Russian officials and Mansoori praised the attention given to their participation by the Russian leadership, commending the wide public interaction from the Russian people with the events and nightly shows presented by the team throughout the festival. He explained that this participation in Russia is part of the team's second international tour, which began in Bristol, UK, with the aim of spreading ancient Arab and Islamic culture in various countries worldwide.
