
Serdang Police capture suspected drug dealers, uncover nail bomb
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Farid Ahmad, in a statement on Wednesday (June 11), said at 3.30am, a random security check of a suspect's car on Jalan Putra Permai led to a 25km car chase.
The car subsequently crashed into a road divider at a turn on Jalan Suakasih, causing it to overturn.
"All three suspects, aged 40 to 51, suffered injuries and were brought to the Serdang Hospital for treatment.
Checks showed that two of the suspects had 43 prior criminal and narcotic offences. One of them was also listed as wanted under the Dangerous Drug Act 1952," he said.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of various types of drugs, including cocaine, ecstasy, and ketamine.
Also found was an object the police described as an improvised explosive device containing shrapnel.
ACP Farid stated that the object contained components made of metal and screws. It also had wires and a motorcycle battery attached to it.
He added that all suspects have been handed over to the Kajang police for further action.

Student's sudden death in Sepang dormitory: Police confirm no criminal involvement
SEPANG, July 27 — A 20-year-old Chinese student from a private university in Sepang was found dead in his dormitory room yesterday morning. As reported by the New Straits Times, police received a call at around 6.20am stating that the student had been struggling to breathe before losing consciousness. 'Initial investigations revealed no signs of criminal activity or foul play,' Sepang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman was quoted as saying. According to the police, the body was later taken to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem, and the cause of death was confirmed as pulmonary thromboembolism resulting from right deep vein thrombosis. The case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR). Police also extended their condolences to the student's family and urged the public to refrain from speculating about the incident.

Johor cops call on the public to help find missing six-year-old
ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a six-year-old boy who has been reported missing in Taman Bukit Indah near here. Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the police received a report on the child's disappearance at about 2.15am on Thursday (July 24). 'The report was lodged by the boy's father, a 36-year-old local man, who claimed that his son went missing near a kopitiam at Taman Bukit Indah. 'The missing child has been identified as M. Tishant, a Malaysian male aged six. He was last seen at the Tiong Nam kopitiam in Taman Bukit Indah,' he said in a statement here on Saturday (July 26). ACP Kumarasan added that Tishant is described as having a dark complexion, with a sharp nose, standing about 110cm tall and weighing around 19kg. He urged members of the public with any information on the child's whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Insp E. Komaty at 010-381 2804. ACP Kumarasan said those with information may also reach out to the Iskandar Puteri district police control centre at 07-511 3622 or its hotline number at 07-511 4486. 'Our top priority is to locate the child and ensure his safety. We appreciate any assistance from the public to help reunite him with his family,' he added.

Five injured in multi-vehicle crash in Penang
Five people were severely injured, and one escaped with minor injuries after a multi-vehicle crash along Jalan Perak, ending on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway towards Batu Uban, on Friday (July 25). George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the George Town police received information about an accident involving a sports utility vehicle (SUV), two cars, and two motorcycles. "Preliminary investigation revealed that the accident occurred on Friday (July 25) at about 8.30 p.m. when the SUV driver, upon reaching the traffic light junction at Jalan Perak, collided with the rear of a Perodua Myvi," he said. The SUV driver then continued driving and collided with two motorcycles along Jalan Perak. Subsequently, the SUV proceeded towards the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway, heading towards Batu Maung, and crashed into the rear of another vehicle. As a result, the drivers of the SUV and cars, along with the motorcyclists and pillion riders aged between 15 and 56, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Penang Hospital. The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
