Kevin Durant found himself at the center of attention at Fanatics Fest on Sunday afternoon after he was sent from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster trade. However, even in the wake of the latest big change for him in his NBA career, he was focused on finding a way to recruit Dallas Cowboys superstar defender Micah Parsons to his favorite team, the Washington Commanders.

With Parsons still embroiled in drama-filled contract negotiations, his future with the Cowboys has come into question. Some folks have wondered whether he could hit the open market, or if Dallas' front office could ultimately decide to trade him. Regardless of what ends up happening, Durant believes that Parsons will find his way to Washington within the next two years.
'I think he will be a Commander at some point in his career,' Durant said in an interview with Kay Adams. 'Imma say two years from now.'
'I only rock with Dan Quinn,' Parsons said in response to Durant's bold Commanders prediction.
'Exactly, that's all he needs to rock with,' Durant quickly said in reply.

Any team would gladly welcome Parsons to their squad, as he's been one of the best defenders in the league since getting selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Cowboys and their fans, on the other hand, would likely be sick to their stomach seeing Parsons play for one of their NFC East rivals.

The prospect of Parsons getting publicly recruited by Durant should only further incentivize Dallas' front office to hammer out a deal with their star defender. Granted, they shouldn't have needed much of an incentive to keep him in town in the first place, but as training camp draws near, all eyes will be on Parsons and the Cowboys to see if they can come to terms on a new deal.

The buzz keeps building as an Eagles rookie earns more praise from the media. This is probably a safe guess. Since you've watched the Philadelphia Eagles all your life, those of you who also love the college game have probably kept one eye on the Big Ten. These days, that's certainly harder than ever as it's now two schools short of becoming 'The Big 20'. Even with all of that being said, your Pennsylvania affiliations more than likely kept you from watching a ton of Nebraska football. Tom Osborne left a long time ago, and if we're being honest, most Eagles fans lost track of Matt Rhule after Philadelphia beat his Carolina Panthers in Week 5 of the 2021 season. The 2025 NFL Draft brought about some changes. Philadelphia drafted a Nebraska Cornhusker in Round 4, and though discipline tells us not to put too much stock in a rookie until he has played meaningful snaps, it's hard not to be excited. This guy's nickname is the 'Vanilla Gorilla' for Heaven's sake. ESPN's Tim McManus names Ty Robinson's selection as the Eagles' most underrated move They say offense sells tickets, and defense wins championships. One of the most significant talking points we've heard all offseason is the number of players lost from the defensive roster. Frankly, that take seems overstated. One of those weapons is rookie Ty Robinson, the aforementioned 'Vanilla Gorilla'. Gosh, it's easy to fall in love with that nickname, and it's easy to love what Tim McManus said about him. Tim is ESPN's Eagles insider, and he recently participated in an NFC East roundtable. Once the topic turned to each team's most underrated move, Robinson earned his shout-out. "Drafting DT Ty Robinson in the fourth round (was Philly's most underrated move). With minimal contact during OTA and minicamp practices, the offseason program isn't exactly conducive to properly evaluating linemen. But that hasn't stopped some of his new teammates from speaking highly of the Nebraska product. "That boy is fire, I ain't going to lie," DT Jalen Carter said. "He's moving good. He's a big boy. ... I think he's going to have a big impact this season." Robinson's NCAA career ended with 134 tackles, including 27 for loss. He also racked up a dozen sacks and 12 pass breakups. He earned Third-team All-Big Ten honors in his swan song with the Cornhuskers last season. This next part, however, is the best part of the story. Rhule gave him a single-digit jersey number, an honor reserved for the tough players on his team who have earned his respect. Ladies and gentlemen, we all loved Milton Williams and are sorry he's gone, but Ty Robinson isn't going to settle into this defense just fine.

Todd Bowles and Jason Licht have proven they are more than deserving of extensions
Easily the best GM in the league 👏 The Buccaneers' extensions of head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht may appear to be low-key moves even during the lull of the offseason. However, their extensions are a testament to the stability and sustained success they have brought to the franchise. Despite a rocky start to his tenure as Bucs head coach, Bowles has a proven track record in Tampa Bay, winning three straight NFC South titles. Some may say Bowles' success is just the product of an otherwise disastrous division that has combined for a 57-96 record. Winning the NFL consistently is too difficult to rely solely on the folly of others. The Bucs also have the NFL's 10th-best point differential since Bowles took over as head coach, which cannot be attributed solely to wins over the rest of the division. Despite last year's defensive struggles, the Bucs have had one of the best defenses in the NFL since Bowles took over. Since 2019, the Bucs are sixth in defensive EPA (-0.032) and fifth in defensive success rate (42.7%). No team has been better defending the run than the Bucs under Bowles, whether looking at total yards allowed (9378), yards per attempt (4.0), EPA (-0.157), or success rate (36.6%). Bowles also bucked the NFL defensive head coach stereotype, as well as the stereotype of offensive inconsistency and impermanence. Tampa Bay's offenses have improved every year since he became head coach, in large part because of his willingness to take chances on offensive coordinators with no discernible connection to his coaching tree. Bowles hired Dave Canales and Liam Coen despite neither having any experience calling plays in the NFL. Both exceeded expectations so much that they were both hired as head coaches just one year after calling plays in Tampa Bay. Success as a head coach is never the product of just one man. Bowles enjoys the benefits of working with one of the NFL's best, if still somehow most underrated, general managers. Jason Licht embodies the NFL front office cliche of 'build with the draft.' Since Licht became Tampa Bay's GM, no NFL team has more games played or snaps taken by picks from the first through fifth rounds of the NFL draft: Licht already has two likely future Hall of Famers on his resume with Mike Evans and Tristan Wirfs. Draft picks like Antoine Winfield Jr., Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, and Luke Goedeke established Licht as one of the premier drafting GMs in the NFL. Licht's success does not end at the draft. Though the Bucs rarely spend in free agency under Licht, the big moves often make major impacts. He was the sole general manager to take a swing at Tom Brady after he left New England, a move that paid dividends in Super Bowl rings. He also skipped the presumed rebuild following Brady's retirement by signing Baker Mayfield for a song, re-signing him to a team-friendly extension that helps keep Tampa Bay's roster solid from top to bottom. The free agent dice rolls are often where Licht shines. Signing Shaq Barrett in 2019 was an inexpensive gamble considering Barrett broke the Bucs' sack record and became the foundation for a dominant defense during their 2020 Super Bowl run. Additions like Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul, and even Antonio Brown paved the way for the Bucs' first Super Bowl since 2003. Perhaps more than anything, Bowles and Licht earned their extensions from the growth they have shown since taking on their respective roles. When Bowles became head coach in 2022, he appeared to inherit a Super Bowl-ready roster. Then, the offensive line imploded, and his inherited offensive coordinator failed to pivot. This led to an unceremonious wild card exit and questions about whether Bowles learned anything since his run as the New York Jets' head coach. Instead, Bowles trusted his defensive acumen and turned his attention to the offense, handing the keys over to young playcallers with something to prove. His success in selecting new offensive innovators could prove to be a blueprint for future defense-centric head coaches for sustaining success in an offense-tilted league. Licht endured his own struggles early in his tenure as general manager. His first year only yielded Mike Evans as even a viable player, and his 2016 draft class was nothing short of disastrous. Nevertheless, he built a Super Bowl-caliber roster despite misses on consecutive first-round picks in 2016 and 2017. The NFL typically operates on year-on-year success. The Bucs chose a more patient path, yielding one of the league's best general managers and a head coach with more success than he is often credited. Bowles and Licht proved themselves winners, worthy of the extensions granted by the franchise.

'At least your dad didn't move to Louisiana and start calling plays' This is a fun one. Louisiana football royalty descended on Thibodeaux this week for the Manning Passing Academy, with legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning joining his sons Peyton, Eli, and Cooper and grandson Arch for an opportunity to mentor the next generation of passers. On the way, several members of the Manning family stopped by the Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane's to put in a celebrity "shift" and pulled into the drive-thru to cut a commercial. You can see it for yourself here, but they weren't alone. Raising Cane's founder Todd Graves, a popular pick among fans to buy the Saints should owner Gayle Benson ever put them up for sale, sat in the back seat with LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Grandfather Archie questioned grandson Arch as to whether his Super Bowl-winning uncles Peyton and Eli were going too hard on him; the younger Manning and Nussmeier roomed together this week as counselors at the clinic. "Tell me about it. At least your dad didn't move to Louisiana and start calling plays," quipped Nussmeier, son of new Saints offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier. That's when Arch's father Cooper leaned in from the drive-thru window to remind his son to order with a "please" and "thank you," while telling Nussmeier that his father already called in his order: "He doesn't trust your judgment." Rookie Saints quarterback Tyler Shough is also working at the event as a counselor, and he's the first to do so after going pro. With almost 1,500 high school quarterbacks in attendance, the Mannings could use all the help they can get. As for Graves? Between all this high-maintenance bickering among quarterbacks, he joked that he needs "to start hanging out with linemen." We're guessing Erik McCoy and Cameron Jordan would be more than happy to show him around town.
