Aaron Rodgers reveals how mysterious wife's 20-year-old sister influenced $13.6 million Steelers decision
The new Steelers quarterback, who has been notoriously tight-lipped about the identity of his significant other, spoke openly about his in-laws in a feature published Friday by The Athletic, specifically how his wife's 20-year-old sister offered her input on his one-year, $13.65 million contract with Pittsburgh.
'I was taking orders from my (new) sister-in-law, Mia,' a smiling Rodgers said, according to the outlet. 'She's 20 and she's the brains of the family; you just have to ask her.'

Rodgers, 41, has been enjoying his newlywed era after revealing in June he's been married for a 'couple of months.'
The four-time league MVP stirred marriage buzz that very same month when he was photographed wearing a black band on his left ring finger after putting pen to paper with the Steelers.

'… Every team that I talked to, I said, 'Listen, if I play, I'm not going to take a ton of money. I've made a ton of money. I don't need the money,' Rodgers told The Athletic.
Rodgers revealed in December 2024 that he was involved with a woman named Brittani following high-profile romances with retired NASCAR driver Danica Patrick and actress Shailene Woodley.

In the wake of the quarterback's marriage bombshell, speculation went into overdrive about the identity of the Mrs., much to the future Hall of Famer's dismay.
'My private life is my private life and it's going to stay that way, and I'm with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out and there's a picture, she'll choose that,' he said in June on 'The Pat McAfee Show.'
Even though his wife has remained out of the spotlight, Rodgers has continued to gush publicly about his 'rock.'

'When you meet the right one and you're with the right one, your whole world changes in a second,' Rodgers said at Steelers training camp last week.
'… To have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there's no better feeling in the world, and I've got the most incredible wife.'
Rodgers has his wife's support as he readies for his first Steelers season.
He is coming off two less-than-memorable seasons with the Jets after an 18-year career in Green Bay.
Rodgers, who has hinted the 2025 campaign could be his last, will face his former Jets team in Week 1.

Panthers rookie K Ryan Fitzgerald has rough performance at Fan Fest scrimmage
The Carolina Panthers' kicking battle isn't exactly booming at the moment. Friday night's Fan Fest, held in front of a buzzing Bank of America Stadium crowd, featured the team's first big scrimmage of training camp. The kicking duties for the session belonged to undrafted rookie Ryan Fitzgerald, who got the nod over veteran Matthew Wright. But unfortunately for the 24-year-old youngster, this practice wouldn't be one to remember, at least fondly. Head coach Dave Canales was asked about Fitzgerald's performance afterwards. "Yeah, he missed a couple," Canales told reporters. "So we're just learning about the guys that we have." Fitzgerald successfully converted on just one of his three field goal attempts on the evening. His misses, per Joe Person of The Athletic, came from 48 yards and around 40 yards. Canales was then asked if it was nice to see Fitzgerald work on the regular field goal posts instead of the skinny posts, which have been used in the practices prior. "Yeah, it was good to see him with the whole environment," he replied. "And even right there, that situation was down three [points], to tie it up, to go to overtime. So a little extra added pressure." Fitzgerald kicked at Florida State University for five seasons. He missed on only two of his 34 field goal tries over the past two years. He's been in competition with Wright—a 29-year-old journeyman who has picked up stops with nine different teams since 2019. Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.
