Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast will begin accepting pre-bookings for its first two electric SUVs in India, the
VF 6
and
VF 7
, starting July 15. The announcement marks a significant step in the company's entry into the Indian market, supported by the launch of a 35-outlet dealership network across key cities.
VinFast Auto India has partnered with 13 dealer groups to establish its initial retail and distribution network. These dealerships will be located in both metro cities and emerging electric vehicle hubs such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Coimbatore,
Surat
, Calicut, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Shimla, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Vapi, Baroda, and Goa.
VinFast VF 6 price
The VF 6, positioned in the compact electric SUV segment, is expected to compete with models like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming
Hyundai Creta Electric
. It will likely be offered in two variants, both powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The vehicle will use a 59.6 kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of up to 440 km on a full charge. The estimated price range for the VF 6 in India is expected to be between ₹18 lakh and ₹24 lakh.
VinFast VF 7 price
The VF 7, a larger mid-size SUV, will be positioned above the VF 6 and compete with the likes of the BYD Atto 3. It will be equipped with a 75.3 kWh battery, providing an estimated range of over 450 km. The VF 7 is expected to be priced between ₹30 lakh and ₹35 lakh.

Both the VF 6 and VF 7 will be available in four exterior colour options: Jet Black, Neptune Grey, Brahminy White, and Crimson Red.
Production plans and global export targets
VinFast plans to manufacture 1,50,000 units of the VF 6 and VF 7 combined, with a portion of that output intended for export to markets in the Middle East and Africa. As part of its long-term India strategy, the company is setting up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu with a planned investment of USD 2 billion.
According to government officials, in order to qualify for India's recently introduced scheme to promote the manufacturing of electric passenger cars, VinFast will need to invest at least ₹4,150 crore. Under this scheme, qualifying companies are permitted to import completely built electric cars for a period of five years at a reduced
customs duty
rate of 15%, starting from the date their application is approved.

Remove Ads Mumbai: Jane Street has complied with an interim regulatory order and deposited ₹4,844 crore in an escrow account , after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) probe into the New York trading firm revealed alleged instances of manipulation in the local derivatives market The decision came as a surprise to market participants, as it is rare for firms accused of violations to deposit such a large sum to comply with an ex-parte, interim order. "Jane Street's action in depositing this amount could be with the intention to establish its bona fides," said a senior Supreme Court lawyer, who declined to be is examining the firm's request to lift the trading ban on it. "On an operational basis, Sebi may have to instruct the exchanges and depositories to lift the previous ban, but that would simply be the plumbing of the order."The derivatives market has been impacted by Jane Street's absence. After the July 3 Sebi order, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) saw a significant drop in daily average turnover for index options trading, of about 17%, in the previous investigation showed that the trading firm was engaged in manipulative trades on the expiry days of Bank Nifty derivatives that pushed the outcome in their to the probe, the manipulation by Jane Street occurred on expiry days of index options. India's chief negotiator, Rajesh Agrawal, who serves as special secretary in the Commerce Department, will join the discussions on Wednesday, while other officials are already there to set the initial agenda and discuss procedural issues. Meanwhile, the US has postponed imposing additional tariffs on several countries, including India, until August 1. When asked whether an interim deal might be reached before August 1, an official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, 'We're working towards a BTA. How it progresses—whether in phases—will be decided mutually. We're aiming for a deal that benefits both sides.' Earlier, the Indian delegation was in Washington from June 26 to July 2 for negotiations. India stands firm on agriculture and dairy tariffs Reports indicate India is taking a tough stance against US demands for lower tariffs on agricultural and dairy products. So far, India has not offered duty cuts in the dairy sector in any of its free trade agreements. India is also pushing for the reduction of US tariffs on steel and aluminium (currently around 50%) and automobiles (25%). Under World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, India reserves the right to impose retaliatory duties if needed. Trump's tariff letters Earlier, President Donald Trump announced steep tariffs on several countries, including India. However, these tariffs were postponed first to July 9, and then again to August 1. The Trump administration has sent tariff warning letters to multiple trading partners, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, South Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Serbia, and Tunisia. The US is seeking tariff reductions from India on various products, including industrial goods, automobiles, wines, petrochemicals, and agricultural products such as dairy, apples, tree nuts, and genetically modified crops. India's merchandise exports to the US rose 21.78% to $17.25 billion during April-May of this fiscal year, while imports from the US grew 25.8%.
