A man is facing homicide charges after he allegedly shot and killed his in-laws at their home in a gated 55-plus community in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania, Tuesday night.
Police say the suspect forced his way into the home on Glasgow Way in Northampton County around 7 p.m. and shot his mother-in-law and father-in-law with a gun he purchased earlier that day.
Police arrested the alleged shooter at the scene.
Northampton County DA Stephen Baratta said the suspect's wife and two children were in the home at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt, police said.
The suspect had been served with divorce papers within the past 24 hours, police said.
He has been charged with two counts of homicide.
Palmer Township Police Chief Wayne Smith said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Man suffers life-threatening injuries after shooting in Oakville, police say
A man was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot while sitting in his vehicle in Oakville early Saturday morning, police said. The shooting happened around 12:25 a.m. outside Hashtag Garden Modern Kitchen and Lounge at 177 Cross Avenue, Halton police said in a news release Saturday. The victim was in a parked vehicle when another vehicle approached, and two male suspects "confronted the victim," the release said. During the confrontation, the victim was shot, police said. He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious, life-threatening injuries. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and face coverings, police said. They were last seen fleeing the parking lot in a late-model grey Honda CR-V SUV. Police said the victim appears to have been specifically targeted. Anyone with information or dash cam footage of the area between 11 p.m. on Friday and 1 a.m. on Saturday is asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.

Motorcyclists flashed guns in Parkland, at least one fired — witnesses sought
The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public's help to identify one or more motorcyclists who fired multiple shots at a passing vehicle in the Tacoma area earlier this month. The shooting was reported just before 11 p.m. on June 14 on southbound Pacific Avenue near 138th Street South in Parkland, according to a WSP news release. 'As the victim passed a large group of motorcycles, several of the riders brandished firearms, and at least one fired multiple shots at the victim's vehicle,' the news release said. 'After the shooting, the group of motorcycles continued south.' No one was injured in the shooting. The victim had been driving a silver Scion at the time they passed the group 'primarily comprised of Harley Davidson style motorcycles,' according to the WSP. No additional descriptions or details were known. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or might have more information about the shooter is asked to contact WSP detective Tessa Schahfer at or 253-538-3172.

Suspects indicted on more charges in Bar II fatal shooting in Middletown
Jun. 28—The two suspects in a mid-June Middletown bar fatal shooting were indicted on a collective 12 charges Friday afternoon, ahead of an expected municipal court appearance. Indictments stem from the June 16 shooting outside Bar II in Middletown where four people were shot, including 36-year-old Middletown man Jesse Jones, who was killed. It stemmed from a fight in the parking lot after the bar closed, according to police. Jerome Collier, 51 of Hamilton, was already facing a murder charge and single counts of felonious assault and having weapons under disability. A Butler County grand jury on Friday indicted Collier on seven charges in all, adding three more counts of felonious assault and a second count of having a weapon under disability under different sections of the Ohio criminal code. The murder and felonious assault charges are enhanced with both a gun specification and a repeat violent offender specification. Both specification charges would add additional years to the underlying crimes if convicted. Dy'Shonna Goins, 28, of Dayton, faced three counts of felonious assault, and now has been indicted by the grand jury on those counts as well as two additional felonious assault counts. Four of the charges Goins faces are also enhanced with both an underlying gun specification charge. Collier was arraigned on Monday, June 23, and his bond was set at $1 million. He is currently in the Butler County Jail. Goins is at the Middletown Jail after being arrested on June 20 by officers from the Middletown Division of Police and Kettering Police Department. Goins' bond is set at $150,000. On June 16, police responded to reports of shots fired at Bar II's parking lot, 1200 Elliott Drive, at around 2:40 a.m. Four people were shot as an apparent result of a fight, said Middletown Division of Police Chief Earl Nelson, but the motivation as to why the fight started is not clear. "The stories are different as to why the fight started," he said. "We talked to the owner of the bar, asking if anything had happened inside. He said, 'No.'" Video footage from buildings near the incident was collected, according to police.
