Lotfy Labib Shares Health Update Amid Hospitalization

Yara Sameh Veteran Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib has shared an update about his current health condition after being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a health scare. In a statement on Tuesday, Labib said that despite still being in intensive care, his condition is stable. "I am receiving the necessary medical care and will be discharged next Friday," he added. Labib thanked everyone who checked on him and supported him during the period, adding that he is satisfied with everything that has happened to him recently. He continued: "I have a swollen throat, but thank God, don't worry about me, and his voice has begun to improve." On Sunday, Labib was admitted to the intensive care (ICU) after suffering a health scare. He underwent the medical tests to determine the cause of his illness. Father Boutros Daniel, director of the Catholic Centre for Cinema in Egypt, has shared an update on the actor's health, explaining that he suffered a sudden health issue in the past hours that required his transfer to the hospital, where he is in the ICU and banned from receiving visitors. He added that Labib is attached to his fans, loves them, and appreciates them, and asked the actor's fans to pray for him. "The best thing they can do now is pray for his speedy recovery," Labib noted. Born on August 18, 1947, Labib is an Egyptian stage, television, and film actor. The acclaimed actor has worked profusely, in many supporting but memorable roles, with over 200 film and television credits. Through many of his screen appearances, the veteran actor has performed admirably and has shown himself to be one of the strongest performers of his generation. On March 29, Labib announced his retirement from acting due to his health condition. "In my current health condition, if I get a role, I won't be able to play it because I prefer that my image remains as it was to the fans," he said. He made his final onscreen appearance in the 2024 film ' Ana W Ibn Khalti ' ("Me and My Cousin"). Hanady Mehanna, Bayoumi Fouad, Sayed Ragab, Mimi Gamal, Sara Abdelrahman, Ali Loka, and Enaam Salousa round out the cast. Ahmed Saleh directed from a script by Doaa Abdel Wahab and Amr Abu Zeid.
