Disney might have quietly canceled a beloved 'Star Wars' show — despite rating 92% on Rotten Tomatoes
"Star Wars" shows have been in a rough spot lately, but "Skeleton Crew" felt like a rare bright spot when it premiered at the end of last year.
The show debuted to rave reviews. It initially scored a 94% "fresh" rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As of this writing, it still sits at an impressive 92%. Our staff liked it as well. Our own Martin Shore said it was a "refreshing spin on a beloved franchise," and our TV/AV staff writer Ryan Epps also came away impressed.
Unfortunately, though, we may have seen the last of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
One of the stars of the show is Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, a human girl from the planet At Attin who is integral to the show.
If there's a season 2, she'll almost certainly not be coming back. On May 15, Sarah Michelle Gellar jumped on a video call with Armstrong to reveal that she would be the star of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot, which was then posted to Instagram for all to see (h/t Bam Smack Pow).
Armstrong taking on a lead role in another series almost certainly precludes her from returning for a potential "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" season 2. It wouldn't be impossible, but it'd be an incredible feat for her to have a starring role in both shows.
However, there's not necessarily a need to bring Armstrong's character, Fern, back for a season 2. The show ends in a way that would satisfyingly wrap up Fern's arc, if needed.

Of course, the problem is that the show satisfyingly wrapped up ... well, everything.
It could stand on its own as a miniseries, and given that "Star Wars" seems to still be in the process of righting the ship, I think they'll probably leave well enough alone and leave a majority of the "Star Wars" TV shows behind.

'Tonight in Houston, at NRG stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt,' the statement read. 'She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.' Beyoncé has since shared photos from the concert, including an image of the mishap, writing in the caption, 'I love you, Houston.' The Cowboy Carter tour, in support of Beyoncé's eighth studio album of the same name, kicked off in April at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Following a stop in France, the tour arrived in Houston over the weekend and will continue in Maryland and Georgia before wrapping in Nevada at the end of July.

LeBron James' wife pushing him to ‘f–king retire' next year after he re-ups with Lakers
Savannah James is urging LeBron to retire. The Lakers superstar exercised his $52.6 million option for 2025-26, bypassing free agency to return to Los Angeles for his 23rd NBA season. The 2003 No.1 overall pick revealed this during a dinner outing in New York with his wife, Savannah, Miami Heat and former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love and his wife, Kate, among others. One of the dinners guests posted a snippet on Instagram of the conversation where James can be heard saying, 'Savannah wants me to f–king retire in the next year or so.' His agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that while LeBron 'appreciates the partnership' with the Lakers, he 'values a realistic chance of winning it all' and will be closely monitoring the team's offseason moves. The Lakers, who made the major deal with the Mavericks for Luka Dončić this past season, are still attempting to compete in the West, but it's unclear if they'll be championship-level good for this coming year.

Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham's wife, Kennedy, is delivering the inside wedding scoop. On Saturday, Zach Wilson married fiancée Nicolette Dellanno in Manhattan, which comes around a year after the two got engaged. Stidham gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look through social media at the wedding, which took place at St. Patrick's Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Rainbow Room.
