WWE releases Braun Strowman in latest round of cuts: 3 reasons why ‘The Monster of Monsters' was an asset for the company
Braun Strowman made a menacing heel
Strowman made his WWE debut nearly a decade ago as 'The Black Sheep' of the Wyatt Family and soon emerged as a monster heel. He initially squashed local talent in short matches and proved his mettle as a monster heel. His imposing physique and intense body language made these beatdowns look believable, which is the hallmark of good pro-wrestling. He in particular shared good chemistry with James Ellsworth during this time.
Strowman could hang with the big guys
Strowman accomplished what few have when he feuded with Roman Reigns during 2017 and scored a win over him. The big guy also put on brutal matches with the likes of Big Show and Brock Lesnar, proving that he could hang with A-list stars.
Interestingly, he was cheered during his rivalry with the then 'Big Dog' despite being the villain. Strowman also added another feather to his cap when he beat the legendary Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. He replaced Reigns in the match after due to medical reasons.
He gave back to the company
Braun Strowman was a true company guy who played an instrumental role in helping a couple of fast-rising superstars find a foothold in the industry. The 'Last Monster Standing' match with Bronson Reed is a shining example of his commitment to fostering young talent. Strowman sold his offence with conviction, making him look like a legitimate threat.
Strowman also did the same for Jacob Fatu. This feud established 'The Samoan Werewolf' as a freak of nature and eventually paved the way for him to beat LA Knight for the US title at WrestleMania 41.
Interestingly, apart from Braun Strowman the likes of Dakota Kai and Eddy Thorpe too were released as part of these cuts.

Stone Cold Steve Austin WWE return: 'Rattlesnake' to lock horns with CM Punk at SummerSlam? All we know
Stone Cold Steve Austin WWE return: Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. The 'Rattlesnake' was a force to reckon with during the Attitude Era alongside The Rock. He hasn't laced up his boots since WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Kevin Owens in an impromptu match. However, it seems that this may change soon. Stone Cold Steve Austin to take on CM Punk? Stone Cold Steve Austin, a WWE Hall of Famer, is apparently keen to get back in the ring for 'one last match'. According to Wrestlevotes, The iconic brawler told several people during the WrestleMania 41 weekend that 'he might have one more in him'. The report also suggested that some names have already been pitched for the potential match with CM Punk being one of them. 'The Second City Saint' and Austin have never squared off in the ring before. However, they did an interaction on Raw many years ago. The two have often been compared because of their remarkable 'pipebombs' and anti-establishment personas. During his prime, Austin feuded with WWE owner Vince McMahon's faction. Similarly, CM Punk feuded with HHH and his faction 'The Authority'. This alone makes a Punk-Austin match a dream affair. Will the Austin-Punk match happen at SummerSlam? WWE will soon be on the road to SummerSlam, slated to take place this August. It is one of the 'big 4' Premium Live Events (PLEs) alongside WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble. Given its scale, it may just be the ideal platform for the two to lock horns. However, WWE may not be able to go down this route as there isn't enough time to build the feud. Additionally, Punk would have to turn heel for the feud to make sense. .And, this would hardly make sense since he is currently Raw's top babyface and involved in a feud with Seth Rollins's faction. However, the WWE could target Survivor Series (in November) for the feud. This would give them time to turn Punk into a corporate heel, something that was teased on SmackDown ahead of Night of Champions, and take on Austin. That said, these angles are purely hypothetical at this time. What happened in CM Punk's match at Night of Champions? John Cena defeated CM Punk at Night of Champions in a keenly contested match for the former's Undisputed Championship. The contest, however, was not a clean one as Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Penta, and Sami Zayn got involved. In the end, 'The Visionary' cost Punk the match and added a new dimension to their bitter feud. Roman Reigns' Contract Update: Is the Tribal Chief gearing up for the comeback or busy doing Hollywood movies?
रोमन रेंस Roman Reigns has been a marquee attraction for WWE for more than a decade. The Tribal Chief did not have the best WrestleMania season this year. He lost in the main event of WrestleMania 41 and was betrayed by his Wiseman, Seth Rollins. Moreover, Reigns has been off television for months now, and his contract status has reportedly become clearer. This has led to a discussion about whether he will make his return to WWE or focus his energies on outside projects. What is the latest update on Roman Reigns' WWE contract? Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman stated that TKO Group Holdings had approached Roman Reigns to renegotiate his current deal, which paid him a lot of money. However, Dave Meltzer ended the speculation with his report claiming that Reigns was not asked to take a pay cut and is still one of the highest-paid WWE performers today. The report, 'As far as income goes, there are seven WWE performers earning well over $5 million per year, with two others potentially reaching that mark this year. Apart from The Rock, Roman Reigns is the top earner. The stories from Jonathan Coachman about TKO asking Reigns for a pay cut or contract restructuring are false.' While Roman Reigns is a part-time performer and makes limited appearances, each one of them draws record viewership and attendance for shows. This drawing power has made him one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time. Will Roman Reigns return to WWE after bagging a major Hollywood project? After a few weeks of speculation, Roman Reigns was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter to be playing the role of Akuma in the live-action version of Street Fighter. The report also added that the shooting would take place in Australia in August. Moreover, an update by WrestleVotes stated that Reigns is expected to return to WWE for the buildup of SummerSlam. His feud is reportedly going to be against Seth Rollins, continuing their rivalry from the events of WrestleMania 41. So it is expected that Reigns will finish his WWE commitments leading up to SummerSlam, taking place on August 2nd and 3rd at MetLife Stadium. Following that, he is likely to take time off to begin filming for Street Fighter, which will be one of his major Hollywood projects to date and would present The OTC in a different way on the silver screen for the audience.
