Pahalgam civilians targeted for their dharma, terrorists killed for their karma: Rajnath in Hyderabad
He said that armed forces showed patience and restraint while annihilating the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK. 'Complete caution was exercised so that no civilian population was harmed,' Singh said. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the armed forces are free and capable to act against terrorism even in the future, he added.
Singh was speaking at an event that was organised as part of the 128th birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju. Singh pointed out that the patience and restraint shown by the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor was similar to the qualities of Raju, who made an invaluable contribution to India's freedom struggle.
Calling him a warrior-saint, the minister said Raju's 'moral clarity and grassroots leadership' are unparalleled. 'His guerrilla resistance, despite limited resources, remains a shining example of courage driven by principle. He taught us that standing up against injustice is not just a right; it is the nation's dharma,' he said. 'His life was not just one of bravery, but of unity.'
Singh also pointed out the Union government's vision for tribal empowerment and said that it echoes the tribal warrior's lifelong mission to uplift the most marginalised sections. He mentioned recent government initiatives, including the PM Tribal Development Mission, Skill India, and the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Campaign, and described them as 'tangible steps towards mainstreaming tribal communities with dignity and opportunity, not charity'.
'From being denied basic rights during colonial rule to becoming the guardians of sustainable growth today, our tribal brothers and sisters have come a long way, and we are committed to walking alongside them,' he said.

JeM chief Masood Azhar not in Pakistan, claims Bilawal Bhutto
In a shocking revelation, Pakistan's Bilawal Bhutto has stated that Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar is not in the country. Speaking to reporters on Friday, the Pakistani politician stated that Pakistan has been "unable to identify or arrest" Azhar. The JeM chief, who is also a globally designated terrorist by the United Nations, was released by India in exchange for the passengers during the IC-814 hijack in 1999.(AP/File Pic) Masood Azhar is one of the most-wanted terrorists in India for his involvement in the 2001 Parliament attack, 2008 Mumbai attacks, 2016 Pathankot attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack. The JeM chief, who is also a globally designated terrorist by the United Nations, was released by India in exchange for the passengers during the IC-814 hijack in 1999. Over the years, India has accused Pakistan of "feigning ignorance" when it comes to the presence of Azhar and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed in its country. Saeed in custody, Azhar not in Pakistan: Bhutto Speaking to reporters, Bilawal Bhutto stated that while Hafiz Saeed is in Pakistan, he is not a free man. "That's factually not correct that Hafiz Saeed is a free man. He is in the custody of the Pakistani state," said Bhutto in response to a New York Times report claiming the LeT chief was free. Also Read: Not just Pakistan, India faced 3 adversaries in Operation Sindoor: Army Furthermore, the politician added tht Azhar is not on Pakistani soil, and would be "happy to arrest him" if India shares proof that the JeM chief is present in Islamabad. "As far as Masood Azhar is concerned, we have been unable to arrest him or identify him. Given his past within the Afghan jihad context, it is our belief that he is in Afghanistan. If and when the Indian government shares information with us that he is on Pakistani soil, we would be more than happy to arrest him. The fact is, the Indian government is not..." said Bhutto. The politician added that if Azhar is in Afghanistan, "It's not possible for Pakistan to go and do what all of NATO was unable to do within Afghanistan. There's no reason for Pakistan to want to see this individual or any individual of concern to be active," referring to the 2021 Taliban takeover.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's ‘Jai Gujarat' comment kicks up a row
Amid the political sparring between the ruling Mahayuti government and the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over the Hindi imposition charge, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's concluding 'Jai Gujarat' remarks during his speech in Pune on Friday raised several eyebrows. Shinde was speaking in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the inauguration ceremony of the 'Jairaj Sports and Convention Centre' built by the Shree Poona Gujarati Bandhu Samaj in the Kondhwa area. (HT) Shinde was speaking in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the inauguration ceremony of the 'Jairaj Sports and Convention Centre' built by the Shree Poona Gujarati Bandhu Samaj in the Kondhwa area. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut referred to the Shinde-led Shiv Sena as 'Shah Sena' and remarked that it showed the true face of the duplicate Shiv Sena of Union Minister Amit Shah. 'It is not surprising. Shinde's Sena was born in Gujarat with Shah's blessings,' Raut said, referring to Shinde and his supporter MLAs rushing to Surat in Gujarat after they split the party in 2022. He also posted two separate videos of Shinde on social media. 'Shah Sena! Amit Shah's-- duplicate Shiv Sena's true face was exposed today. In Pune, this man (Eknath Shinde) gave the slogan 'Jai Gujarat'! What to do? How can this man remain in the Maharashtra cabinet.' Clyde Crasto, NCP (SP) national spokesperson, said, 'They claim to represent Marathi manoos, but lust for power. When Eknath Shinde was made the chief minister, many projects meant for Maharashtra went to Gujarat, now it is proved that Shinde worked for the benefit of Gujarat.'' Atul Londhe, state Congress chief spokesperson, said, 'A person like Shinde does not have respect for anyone. He only salutes his master (Amit Shah).'' Gopal Tiwari, Congress spokesperson, said, 'As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the sponsor for Shinde's Shiv Sena it is obvious that Shinde said 'Jai Gujarat.' The BJP leaders always disrespect Maharashtra leaders like Shivaji Maharaj and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, but the local BJP leaders do not speak about it.' Gajanan Thurkude, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, said, 'When the Shinde government was formed each MLA allegedly got ₹50 crore. By saying 'Jai Gujarat' they are repaying this money and showing more honesty to Amit Shah.' Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also attended the event, defended Shinde's remarks and said that creating a ruckus over the issue was unnecessary. He said that Shinde was speaking among the Gujarati community, and thus, there was no need to create a ruckus over it. 'If someone is questioning Shinde's love for Maharashtra because of this, then the person is thinking very narrowly,' he added. 'When the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was unveiled earlier, Sharad Pawar had said, 'Jai Maharashtra, Jai Karnataka'. Does this mean that Sharad Pawar loves Karnataka more than Maharashtra? Wherever we go, we say what the people there like. All leaders say the same. Now, when 'Jai Maharashtra, Jai Gujarat' was said among the Gujarati community, I think there is no need to create so much ruckus over it. We are all Indians,' said Fadnavis. After reaching Mumbai in the evening, Shinde held a press conference and clarified his stand. 'It was a function organised by the Gujarati community. I said so to appreciate them as they built a sports complex in Pune which can be used by all. The Gujarati community has been living here for decades and contributed to the progress of Maharashtra,' he said. Shinde also showed a video of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray speaking at a function in Gujarat where he too had remarked, 'Jai Gujarat'.
