The NEOM McLaren Formula E Team and Oxagon unveil special edition livery for the London E-Prix
Unveiled at McLaren Racing Live: London, a two-day fan experience in Trafalgar Square, the new design reimagines the team's regular season livery, retaining its key design elements but reworked into a striking blue 'away kit', creatively expressing the ambition of Oxagon, NEOM's reimagined industrial city.
The partnership between Oxagon and the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team highlights the power of strategic collaboration to drive meaningful change. By combining McLaren's desire for pushing boundaries of innovation with Oxagon's vision for advanced and clean industries, the two organizations are working to redefine how technology and design converge to shape the future of industry – within NEOM and beyond.
Developed between the two brands, the livery introduces dynamic new colors inspired by Oxagon, while retaining the signature papaya elements that define McLaren Racing's visual identity. This distinctive design will also feature on the race suits and helmets of drivers Sam Bird and Taylor Barnard.
'This special edition livery offers a fresh take on our existing design — a purposeful 'alternate' livery that shines a light on Oxagon, one of NEOM's key regions,' said Ian James, Managing Director and Team Principal, McLaren Electric Racing. 'It represents more than bold visuals; it symbolizes a partnership rooted in innovation, collaboration and real-world industrial transformation.'
'Our work with the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team demonstrates how cross-industry partnerships can accelerate sustainable transformation,' said Vishal Wanchoo, CEO of Oxagon. 'By combining McLaren's performance and efficiency with Oxagon's vision for clean, connected manufacturing, we're advancing the kind of innovation that is shaping the future of industry.'
Since the launch of the international Oxagon x McLaren Accelerator Program in 2023, two successful cohorts of scale-ups from around the world have completed the 12-week program designed to fast-track deep tech and next generation solutions to advance industries in the Oxagon region. From autonomous mobility to smart logistics and supply chain innovation, the program has already led to pilot projects within NEOM and commercial opportunities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2024, out of seven companies, four were shortlisted to pilot their technologies in the port on HSE, robotic container handling and condition-based predictive maintenance.
Established in 2022, the partnership between NEOM and McLaren Electric Racing extends beyond motorsport sponsorship to reflect a shared drive for high performance, innovation and the development of future talent. Revealed in London and inspired by Oxagon, the livery captures the spirit of the partnership and its role in advancing progress through design, technology and shared values.

Three Britons can win but Piastri has his own script
Three British winners have their sights on a home grand prix victory this weekend but Oscar Piastri could rain on that particular parade as Formula One returns to where the championship started 75 years ago. Australia's championship leader can still count on plenty of support as a McLaren driver but much of the crowd, and certainly the 10,000 in Silverstone's sold-out 'Landostand', will be cheering more for British teammate Lando Norris. Norris won Piastri's home grand prix in Melbourne in March, an added incentive for the Australian at Silverstone, and the pair are turning the season into a two-horse race as the campaign reaches the halfway point. Piastri is chasing a sixth win in 12 races while Norris arrives from Austria on a high after dominating every practice session he took part in, taking pole by a huge margin and holding off his teammate to win. The two are 15 points apart, with Red Bull's reigning four-times world champion Max Verstappen third overall but now a hefty 61 points off the lead after a first retirement of the season at his team's home track at Spielberg. Oscar Piastri during an interview at the McLaren event in Londaon. Reuters 'My favourite weekend of the year,' said Norris, who has yet to take back-to-back wins. 'It's already a special circuit but to also have my family, friends, home fans and so many of the team there supporting us takes it to another level. I'll try to make sure I give the fans a wave as I drive past.' Piastri recalled he had fans chanting his name at Silverstone not so long ago. 'I am not sure I will get that again but they have always been very accepting of me. I race for a British team. I am expecting that there will be more Lando fans than there are for me but that's fair enough,' he said. If Norris's support is strong, then Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton will always be the big sentimental favourite. The last two races have been won by British drivers -- George Russell for Mercedes in Canada and then Norris last weekend. Could Hamilton make it three and send the crowd crazy? The 40-year-old won with Mercedes last year for a record ninth time and taking that tally into double figures, in what will be his first home appearance in the Italian team's red colours, would be something else. Ferrari are the only top-four team without a win this season, other than Hamilton's Shanghai sprint success, and the seven-times world champion has yet to stand on the podium for his new employers.
