Robert issues a dark threat in Emmerdale as he finally gets the upper hand

Metro12 hours ago
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has been swimming against the tide since returning to Emmerdale. No one wants him there, even his own sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) at times, and least of all John (Oliver Farnworth).
Robert has clocked John's true colours, which has made him unpopular with everyone around him. Added to that, his PTSD saw him accidentally lash out at Vic and give her a black eye, and his name has been mud ever since. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) won't even give him much more than a filthy side eye.
John pulled some strings and managed to get Robert sacked from the Depot, which added a new layer of complication for the ex-con.
And when his drink was spiked by a hook up and John took him off in his van to do God knows what, John once again managed to turn things around to make himself to be the hero and Robert a pathetic victim.
But Robert is still driven to unmask the true John and was interested to learn that Mack is also not a fan of the former army medic. So, while the chips may be down for Robert, things are starting to look up.
Needing to catch a break, he's relieved to get some good news about Annie's field, which he feeds back to Victoria and leaves her utterly delighted.
Annie's field is part of land once owned by their grandmother, which she left in her will to Victoria when she died. Moira's farm sits on Annie's land, but Vic agreed to continue letting her farm on it in memory of her grandmother.

Robert becomes strangely coy when Vic presses for specific details of his plans for the land. More Trending
It seems whatever they are, the plans are untoward as Ross (Michael Parr) thinks he's cracked the code of where Lewis' missing weed went, and he lays the blame at Robert's door.
Robert does not take kindly to the accusation, whether true or not, and during the confrontation he turns on Ross and makes a massive threat – he'll cancel the land deal with struggling Moira if Ross doesn't back off.
With no choice, Ross is forced to do as he's told to protect Moira's farm.

Filming has just wrapped on the civilian series of the show and it couldn't come a moment too soon for the crew who have been terrorised by Scottish wildlife. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 2 The Traitors' Ardross Castle has been hit by 'nightmare' plague of insects Credit: The Scottish Highlands' Ardross Castle where the show is filmed has had a huge increase in tick population - not to mention midges and mosquitos - and the Traitors cast and crew have become well aware of it. They've had to take drastic measures to save themselves from an itchy month of torture. A source said: 'There are always challenges filming outdoors but this time is was worse than ever. 'The crew were having to wear nets over their heads to stop themselves from being bitten. 'And ticks were a nightmare - some became experts in getting them out of people's bodies fully. 'Normally it's the contestants that are put through their paces, but this time the crew went through hell.' The recent heatwaves have contributed to the increase in insect population. The BBC has been contacted for comment. Fans will still have a long wait to see either of the new series of The Traitors. While the celebrity version is set to air later this year, the third civilian version most likely won't debut until early 2026. Claudia Winkleman will return to host the show that has become a ratings smash and a worldwide hit for the BBC. EastEnders' Samantha Womack 'warned' about boyfriend

EastEnders star Samantha Womack has been 'warned' by fans in the street about her boyfriend Oliver Farnworth, due to his role as serial killer John Sugden in Emmerdale EastEnders' Samantha Womack has revealed that she gets stopped in the street and warned about her Emmerdale actor boyfriend, Oliver Farnworth, who plays the role of a serial killer in the ITV soap. Samantha, 52, is best known for playing the fan-favourite role of Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders, but was sadly killed off on New Year's Day in 2017 along with her sister Roxy. They both died in a dramatic swimming pool accident at Ronnie's wedding to Jack Branning. ‌ Samantha's partner Oliver is now involved in his own soap scandal as he has committed several murders in the Dales as character John Sugden. The former Ronnie Mitchel actress has since revealed that she has been 'warned' about him as she gave an insight into their relationship. ‌ She told The Sun: 'I do get warned about him. But Oli is actually so strict about confidentiality. So he comes back every few days, and he won't tell me what's happening with anything. He's like 'I just can't let you know,' and I'll say 'come on, I'm not going to tell anybody.'' Samantha continued: 'But I really think this is one of his favourite jobs to date. I visited the set and it's beautiful. They have rolling hills and cute cottages. It's very different to EastEnders. And what is funny is he gets a lot of attention when he goes up north, but when we go down south everyone knows me from EastEnders so it changes where we go.' The couple, who have been dating since 2019 after co-starring in 'The Girl On The Train' on London's West End stage, now reportedly live happily in Spain. Samantha recently admitted that it was not her decision to leave EastEnders and that she felt 'rejected' by the boss, Sean O'Connor. She told The Mail that she didn't 'understand' what happened and she felt like she was losing 'a family' when she left. ‌ The soap star said: 'It was really hard for us because it wasn't in our hands. We didn't make the decision to go. I don't really understand what happened, one producer was leaving and another was coming in, I don't know what went on." Adding: "At the time it felt like bereavement, it felt like losing a family member. It was like losing family and losing stability. But the thing that was the most painful - and it really was painful - was that me and Rita loved feeling like we belonged there.' Since leaving the soap, Samantha has battled breast cancer after being diagnosed in August 2022. Her diagnosis came about during a routine check-up, despite her not having any symptoms. She luckily found the disease early and was declared cancer-free in December that same year.
